Two golden energy beams slammed into Chen Mo.
The golden light sparks caused a violent explosion and continued to dissipate.
The wasteland sank again.
Debris mixed with dirt shot into the air, and the shockwave from the explosion swept hundreds of meters away, stirring up the dust that had just settled. Makkari raised his arm to shield his eyes and took several steps back.
Ikaris swooped down from the clouds, his feet creating large cracks in the ground.
He didn't pause; the golden light in his eyes gathered once more.
At the heart of the smoke and dust, a figure still stood in the same spot.
Chen Mo remained motionless.
On the black and red armor covering his body, intricate golden mechanical patterns were rapidly unfolding. These patterns interlocked, forming layers of rotating energy structures that cut and diverted the falling golden beams of light, ultimately channeling them all into the armor's interior.
The light in Ikaris's eyes suddenly stopped.
"How is this possible?"
Makkari froze for a moment.
That's Phastos's ability.
He had used the same mechanical structure to modify spaceships and manufacture weapons, and had also used energy chains to bind the Deviants during their battles.
Now, those familiar golden patterns have appeared on the body of the one who killed Phastos.
The answer was right in front of them.
Phastos's power has been taken away.
Ikaris's facial muscles tensed, and his fists clenched.
Give him back his power!
"Give it back? This is the first time anyone has said that to me."
Chen Mo raised his hand to look at the golden patterns on the armor.
"The person is gone, how do you expect me to repay you? Me, gag myself and vomit it all back to you?"
Makkari let out a silent roar and charged forward again.
Golden lightning exploded close to the ground, and her figure constantly changed direction across the wasteland. To the left, behind, and above, each afterimage carried a different angle of attack.
Instead of relying on brute force to bombard the armor, she aimed her fists at the gaps in the rotating mechanical patterns, while her knee strikes went straight for Chen Mo's side. In just one second, she had completed hundreds of probes.
Chen Mo stood still, his gaze following the golden light.
"So you know how to find weaknesses; it seems you're not just good at going in circles."
A loud explosion came from directly in front.
Ikaris slammed his feet into the ground, his body sending dust flying as he threw a punch straight at Chen Mo's face. Golden energy enveloped his arm, creating visible ripples in the air along his path.
Makkari approached from the side and rear at the same time.
One fast, one heavy.
The two attacks arrived almost simultaneously.
Chen Mo raised his left hand and flicked his finger at the rapidly moving golden light.
Buzz!
An invisible force of thought erupted out of nowhere.
Before Makkari could change direction, she was struck head-on. She groaned and flew sideways, rolling over the ground more than a dozen times before crashing into a protruding rock and coming to a stop.
Ikaris's fist was already in front of Chen Mo.
Chen Mo took a half step to the side and casually swung his right hand.
Snap!
A punch landed squarely on Ikaris's face.
Ikaris's head snapped to one side, the force of his charge completely out of control. He spun through the air for over a hundred meters before crashing into the wasteland, carving a deep trench along the ground.
The surroundings fell silent.
Chen Mo flexed his wrists.
"As expected of Superman, he's got a tough skin. He's much better at handling people than that engineer from before."
Hundreds of meters away, behind a low ridge.
The red and gold armored warrior crouched in the shadows, all surface lights turned off.
Tony stared at the constantly updating data within his mask, his brow furrowing deeper and deeper.
" JARVIS, analyze that golden structure."
"Model is being built, sir."
"And that strange force field from earlier. He didn't seem to be charging up any energy, nor was any normal energy release detected."
"The available data is insufficient, but it seems to share similarities with previous situations within S.H.I.E.L.D.."
Tony zoomed in on the mechanical patterns on Chen Mo's armor.
"This guy just devoured an alien engineer and was able to fully utilize its abilities within minutes. I must say, his digestive system is far more efficient than mine in the lab. What on earth is this guy?"
"Sir, this is not a physiological function to be envied."
"Stop arguing, JARVIS, of course I know."
Tony pulled up the spatial fluctuation records from the wasteland and placed the data from when Chen Mo absorbed the energy beam next to him.
"I need to develop a temporary model for space travel and Energy Absorption. Even if it only delays him by half a second, I want to know where to start."
In the middle of the wasteland, Ikaris propped himself up from the mud.
His left cheek was swollen high, and a trickle of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth. The Cosmic Energy within his body rapidly repaired the injury, but the dizziness left by the attack had not completely dissipated.
Makkari stood up again.
Her arms hung at her sides, but her gaze remained fixed on Chen Mo.
The two of them worked together without harming each other in the slightest, or even making the other move.
Ikaris wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and finally gave up on charging forward.
Why did you kill Phastos?
He pointed to a deep pit not far away.
"He's been gone for many years, and he never hurt anyone. He had a family and just wanted to live as a normal person!"
Chen Mo smiled upon hearing this.
"You have to blame your idiot creator for this."
He stepped over the lingering golden light on the ground.
"Who told her to stage such a disgusting scene?"
Kneeling down and repenting to the Japanese devils? How could she even think of that!
Ikaris's pupils contracted slightly.
Creator, Arishem.
The person before him not only knew the origins of the Eternals, but also blamed Phastos's death on the gods who created them.
This is no longer a hunt targeting any particular Eternals.
He was provoking Arishem.
The golden energy in Ikaris's eyes blazed again, and his fury caused the surrounding air to vibrate. But he didn't attack immediately; the previous exchange had already proven that continuing to charge would only hasten his death.
The message must be sent out.
The will in his eyes was conveyed to Makkari.
[Go, gather everyone here.]
Ikaris stared at Chen Mo, his energy gradually gathering within him.
I held him back.
Makkari glanced at him.
The next second, golden lightning exploded beneath her feet. She turned and rushed into the distance, her figure sweeping across the wasteland, disappearing into the horizon in the blink of an eye.
Chen Mo didn't stop him; he even raised his hand and waved in the direction Makkari had left.
Drive carefully, don't forget anyone.
Behind the ridge, Tony recorded the entire scene.
" Chen Mo definitely did it on purpose."
"Yes, sir."
"He's using that speedster to gather the remaining Eternals."
Tony moved all the Eternals ' faces to the side of the screen and fixed his gaze on Chen Mo.
This was not a spur-of-the-moment battle.
From the moment Phastos issued his warning, Chen Mo had been waiting for everyone to come to him willingly.
The wind on the wasteland dispersed some of the smoke and dust.
Ikaris took a deep breath, and golden patterns spread from his chest to his limbs. He no longer suppressed the Cosmic Energy within him, and his eyes and skin simultaneously emitted a dazzling light.
The ground could not withstand this force and began to crack piece by piece.
He needs to use every ounce of his strength to have a chance to buy time.
Chen Mo watched his gradually rising aura and smiled as he spread his hands.
"Don't be so nervous, I'm waiting for you to call for help. After all, one dish is too small a portion."
Black and red tentacles slowly rose behind him.
I like buffets.
