Just as Chen Mo withdrew the last wisp of black and red blood, the voice in his mind rang out again.
"Your hunting of the Eternals is courting your own destruction. The Celestials will not allow you to continue doing as you please."
Chen Mo looked down at his palm.
Gilgamesh's golden energy covered his fist, and the thick protective layer slowly rotated. Then, the layer extended to both sides, forming the round shield that Thena had used.
Your opening remarks sound familiar.
Chen Mo flexed his fingers.
"There always seem to be people who can't beat me, but they like to say they have connections."
The voice in my mind fell silent for a moment.
"You have no idea how powerful the Celestials are."
"What a coincidence, they don't understand how good my appetite is."
Chen Mo released the round shield from his palm, and the black and red armor reappeared on his fingers.
"Besides, you're overthinking it. The Celestials might not even be able to receive messages these days."
The voice did not continue.
Chen Mo waited a few seconds, but there was no further fluctuation in the depths of his consciousness.
"They called to give me a warning, then hung up when they couldn't reason with me. Their customer service is terrible."
South Dakota.
A remote farm was shrouded in night. The lights were off inside the house, and only a few golden lines floated in mid-air.
Ajak sat at the table, his hands pressed against his forehead.
Cosmic Energy belonging to the Eternals surged from her body, extending outwards along those patterns. Whenever the golden light reached a certain point, an invisible barrier would appear in front of it.
Energy cannot pass through the barrier, and even if you try to find its way through, you will not find an end.
Ajak opened her eyes, and the patterns hanging in front of her went out.
She has just tried the third method of contact.
The first time, she used the communication node Arishem had left inside her. The second time, she activated the beacon beneath the farm. The last time, she even mobilized Cosmic Energy stored for thousands of years in an attempt to break through the barrier.
But the result was no different from the previous times.
In the past, whenever she called out to Arishem, even if she didn't get an immediate response, she could feel the gaze from the distant stars.
Now, that connection has disappeared.
Ajak raised his hand, and a golden figure appeared above the table. The figure was so tall that its entire form was obscured, and its chest and eyes emitted a dark red light.
" Arishem."
The golden projection flickered twice and shattered instantly.
Ajak's hand froze in mid-air.
A monster was hunting them; in a short time, the nine familiar Cosmic Energy had been extinguished.
But their creator did not send down judgment, nor did he even hear her call.
The scene shifts to a snowstorm.
Kamar-Taj- Taj
The Ancient One sat on the stone steps outside the temple, a cup of still-steaming tea beside her.
Several golden threads descended from the night sky, attempting to pass above the temple. He raised his right hand, and the threads bent on their own, falling into his palm.
The golden light vibrated continuously.
The Ancient One pinched one of them and gently closed his fingertips together.
Click.
All the threads shattered one after another, turning into golden specks of light that scattered away.
He looked up toward Australia, then picked up his teacup and took a small sip.
"It's faster than I expected."
In the valley camp, Chen Mo stroked his chin.
The two takeaway orders from Australia have now been signed for.
The presence of South Dakota is still shrouded by some force, appearing and disappearing intermittently, making it difficult to track.
The target in South America is moving, but not very fast.
"Let's eat this first, the one for making those nuisance phone calls."
Chen Mo's feet left the ground, and several of his abilities began to take effect simultaneously.
boom!
A shockwave exploded above the valley.
Chen Mo instantly plunged into the clouds, flying towards South America along the locked-on life force fluctuations.
The coastline was quickly left behind.
The clouds were torn apart at high speed, and mountains and city lights swept past beneath our feet. Golden arcs of electricity drew straight lines across the night sky, appearing only briefly before stretching to the horizon.
Deep in the Amazon Rainforest.
The Druig stood in the center of an open space.
He had already taken the surrounding villagers to the underground shelter, and there were no more footsteps heard nearby.
With his eyes closed, his spiritual power pierced through the dense forest, covering a radius of tens of kilometers. The birds in the forest, the insects in the trees, and the snakes hiding in the soil all became his eyes.
No trackers were found.
But the Druig did not relax.
The warning from Phastos was not wrong; that strange power could devour the Eternals and steal their abilities.
Now, almost all of the other people's energy responses have disappeared.
Only Ajak remained alive.
The Druig opened his eyes, preparing to leave the village.
A muffled rumble suddenly came from the sky.
A flock of birds burst forth from the forest, and nearby Beast fled in terror. Just as his spiritual senses rose into the sky, a dark red-golden light pierced through the clouds.
That's too fast.
The Druig only saw a series of electric arcs.
The next second, Chen Mo descended from the sky and stopped abruptly a few meters above the ground.
boom!
The pent-up air currents spread outwards, causing trees along the edge of the clearing to fall in clumps. Branches, leaves, and soil swirled into the air, only to be blocked by a layer of psychic power.
Chen Mo landed slowly and raised his hand to brush the dust off his armor.
"I was going to waste some of my time looking for you."
He looked at the Druig.
"I didn't expect you to come to me like this."
The Druig's face turned ashen.
He sensed a great deal of familiar Cosmic Energy emanating from Chen Mo.
Phastos, Sersi, Ikaris, Thena...
The aura that should have belonged to the clansmen was now all gathered in the body of the monster before them.
The Druig raised his right hand.
Golden patterns lit up from the side of his neck, and his mental power instantly locked onto Chen Mo.
"Stop."
An invisible wave invaded Chen Mo's consciousness, attempting to take over his body. The Druig then saw countless memories flood in simultaneously: unfamiliar cities, scarlet flesh, and the faces of the Devourer overlapped, finally converging into an ever-expanding black ocean.
The Druig's fingers trembled slightly.
Why does this guy have so many thoughts running through his head?
Have you seen enough?
Chen Mo's voice came directly from the depths of darkness.
The Druig abruptly severed the connection, staggered back two steps, and blood flowed from his nose.
You're not human.
You actually thought I was a human being?
Chen Mo stretched his neck.
"The previous ones all called me a devil. If you don't offer something innovative, I'll have a hard time giving you a good review."
The Druig wiped the blood from under his nose, and at the same time, the villagers in the surrounding shelters opened their eyes.
Hundreds of consciousnesses converged along his mental network.
"Leave here, and I can let them live."
The smile on Chen Mo's face faded slightly.
"Threatening me with some random passerby? Are you out of your mind?"
Before the Druig could answer, a dark red-gold light had already pierced through the open space.
Chen Mo appeared in front of him, his five fingers gripping his head.
Don't make me laugh at my super speed.
Black and red veins pierced the skin, drilling into the brain along the flow of spiritual energy. The Druig's newly gathered consciousness severed instantly, and the golden patterns faded inch by inch.
"No..."
He uttered only one word before his body was completely covered by dark red blood vessels.
Memories, Cosmic Energy, and mental control abilities rapidly flooded into Chen Mo's body.
A few seconds later, the Druig vanished from the spot.
Chen Mo closed his eyes, and a vast amount of spiritual power spread outwards. Inside the underground shelter, hundreds of villagers simultaneously regained consciousness.
"Making harassing phone calls and dragging the public into it."
He withdrew the last wisp of dark red blood.
This order deserves a bad review.
