Before the ecstasy on Thor's face had even subsided, he almost instantly turned to the gothic girl beside him and asked, "So, are you coming back with me now?"
Death Tetiyu tilted her head, the withered daisies in her hand swaying slightly. She seemed to be seriously considering the question before slowly saying, "It's up to you."
Her tone remained relaxed, as if she were talking about something perfectly ordinary, "Anyway, I'll just follow you. It'll be a good opportunity to observe up close what's so special about that person with the unique privilege."
Thor was overjoyed.
Free thugs, why not take them?
But he remained expressionless, nodded, and his gaze swept around the conference room before finally settling on a figure shrouded in shadow in the corner.
The next second, he flashed and appeared next to Batman without warning, casually putting an arm around Batman's shoulder and forcibly pulling the Dark Knight of Gotham to a more secluded corner.
" Old Bat," Thor said in a low voice, just loud enough for the two of them to hear, "For the sake of saving your son and your Bat Family, do me a favor."
Batman's body was taut like a sheet of iron under his cape. He was clearly extremely displeased with this sudden physical contact, but he did not break free.
He was silent for a few seconds before his deep voice came from behind his mask. "What is it?"
Thor nodded his chin toward Tetiyu, then turned his gaze back to Batman, lowering it even further. "Um, could you send someone to settle the people I brought, and show them around your world? You saw Valeria, the genius scientist."
He paused, then offered a tempting offer. "After it's done, I'll have her upgrade your Watchtower, or some of your tech equipment, how about that? Or... I'll drag your Papa out of their graves, what do you think? After all, that person..."
He glanced at Death again. "She just agreed to everything."
Upon hearing this, the air around Batman seemed to freeze.
He remained silent for a long time, his eyes, hidden behind the mask, so deep that no emotion could be discerned.
Bruce Wayne's mind went into unprecedented chaos at that moment.
He didn't understand why Thor kept helping him.
Whether it's purging the lunatics who've been giving him headaches for decades in Arkham, resurrecting Damian who should have died, or bringing down the Thunder of Judgment over Gotham, he's used the most brutal and direct methods to suppress the crime rate to an all-time low, almost putting him and the entire Bat Family on the verge of unemployment recently.
He remembered clearly that when Diana went to beg this guy, she was mercilessly thrown into the sea and left to drink water for several minutes.
This man acts entirely on whim, without any logic whatsoever.
But now, he has actually proposed a condition that Bruce Wayne cannot refuse, and dares not even think about.
Resurrecting parents?
He has the power; even the god who governs death in this universe has personally promised him.
So what am I still struggling with?
Will the nightmare that haunted him his entire life, those two figures lying in pools of blood in the Crime Alley, truly have a chance to stand in the sunlight again?
For the first time, the Dark Knight felt lost.
Seeing that Batman didn't react for a while, Thor impatiently made the decision directly.
"Alright, I'll take that as a yes." He released Batman's arm, patted him on the shoulder, and said in a cautionary tone, "Don't cry when you get home tonight."
After saying that, he ignored Batman, who was frozen in place, and turned back to his own camp.
He first looked at Emma Frost and Betsy, a rare hint of apology on his face. "Um, I'm sorry, this intergalactic trip might have to be canceled."
He pointed to the figure of Death, who was curiously examining the conference room ceiling not far away, and said, "You all saw it too, she's not someone to mess with."
Emma Frost merely snorted, crossed her arms, and her diamond-like eyes held a hint of queenly arrogance. "I don't want to see a second accident."
Betsy nodded readily. "Whatever you say, Thor."
Thor's gaze then shifted to Mister Fantastic and his daughter, his tone turning serious and filled with undisguised wariness. "You two, don't cause trouble here, especially you, troublemaker Reed."
He stared at Mister Fantastic, "Fine, do your research, but don't come up with any other crazy ideas, or I won't be able to save you."
Mister Fantastic Reed's lips moved, as if he wanted to object, but ultimately chose to remain silent under Thor's gaze, simply replying, "Okay, whatever you say."
"You brat," Thor said, slapping Valeria on the head before she could even speak, cutting off her impending protest. "Keep an eye on your dad."
Finally, his gaze fell on Susan, who looked helpless, and his tone softened considerably. " Susan, please keep an eye on the two of them, just make sure they don't cause any big trouble."
Having arranged everything, Thor sat back down in front of Death Tetiyu.
He was about to ask something when Tetiyu spoke first.
"You don't need to ask me everything," she said with a smile, her eyes seeming to see right through Thor. "Just do what you think is best, but... just take me with you."
Thor was taken aback. "So casual?"
"I'm just curious about you," Tetiyu said with a hint of amusement in his smile. "Those universes were just a side effect, so..."
She leaned forward slightly and asked with great interest, "Have you decided which universe you're going to go to change the fate of those heroes?"
Which universe?
Countless thoughts flashed through Thor's mind in an instant—countless worlds he had seen in comics and movies, worlds full of regret and tragedy.
Finally, one name stood out.
" Flashpoint," he said slowly, "I want to go and see it. Do you have the coordinates for that universe?"
Tetiyu's eyes lit up, as if he had heard an excellent game suggestion.
"Sure," she readily agreed, "Let's go."
As soon as the words were spoken, a pure black vortex appeared out of thin air and instantly swallowed the two figures.
Without a single energy fluctuation or a loud bang, Thor and Death Tetiyu vanished silently from the conference room.
