Bruce lost his balance and fell straight down into the roaring lava below.
" Bruce!" Clark shouted.
Superman's emaciated body unleashed a speed completely out of character.
He lunged forward, his legs shattering the rocks beneath his feet, sending the rubble crashing down into the abyss.
His arm stretched forward desperately, his fingertips brushing against the edge of the Batsuit's black cape, but he only managed to grab a handful of scorching air.
Bruce fell into the dark red flames, and before he could even cry for help, he was swallowed up by the terrifying heat.
Clark was half-hanging over the edge of the furnace when he grabbed at nothing.
He stiffly turned his neck, his sunken face contorted with rage, his blue eyes filled with incomprehension and accusation. " Thomas! What are you doing? He's your son!"
Thor stepped forward, grabbed Clark's red and blue suit by the chest with his right hand, and lifted the withered body into the air.
"It's so noisy, you go down and keep him company." Thor raised his left leg and kicked Clark in the stomach with his boot.
Clark had no chance to resist; he was thrown over the edge like a tattered sack and plummeted straight down.
The wind whistled past Clark's ears, and the Heat Wave below almost scorched his withered skin.
He stared intently at the churning lava below, his mind blank.
He wasn't afraid of death, but he couldn't understand why Thomas would throw Bruce into a dead end.
Thor stood by the furnace, his right hand with fingers spread and palm pressed down.
The Law of Emotion were at work, and invisible ripples spread out from him, causing the temperature of the surrounding space to drop slightly.
Two pure, unadulterated beams of light were forcibly ripped from the hearts of the two falling individuals.
Clark felt a lightness in his chest as a burst of intense light shot out from his chest.
This is his hope born of compassion for all living beings.
Immediately afterwards, a burst of light shot out from where Bruce was, who was engulfed by lava below.
This is the light hidden beneath Bruce's suspicion and darkness.
Thor looked at the two orbs of light and curled his lip.
Bruce, on the surface, is completely ruthless and extremely wary of his teammates, but deep down, the light within him shines brighter than anyone else's.
As for Clark, he's so withered and emaciated, yet the glimmer of hope still shines so brightly it hurts the eyes.
The two halos of light did not dissipate; instead, they transformed into two shooting stars, closely following the two bodies, enveloping them, and crashing together into the depths of the boiling magma.
Thor clapped his hands and peered down.
It all depends on the fate of these two lads.
The Tenth Metal, or Element X, relies entirely on these two clusters of hope to resonate.
If we can't retrieve it, this trip will have been a waste, and we'll have to go down and retrieve it ourselves.
If we actually manage to get our hands on it, should we give it to Valeria for research?
Thor stroked his chin, pondering the matter.
Valeria's intelligence is indeed outrageously high; she could conjure up all sorts of incredible gadgets at just a few years old.
However, entrusting him with such a metal, which involves the origin of the multiverse, would be far too risky.
Although this little rascal didn't inherit her father's habit of messing around with inventions, there's always a chance something might happen.
If you cause a dimensional collapse or attract some higher-dimensional beings, you'll be the one cleaning up the mess.
Forget it, we'll deal with it later. At worst, I'll just be used as a brick.
Thor turned around.
In the corner, Carter held Kendra tightly, the two huddled on the edge of the rock wall, their breathing barely audible.
Carter watched as Thor turned his head, a cold sweat breaking out on his back.
He watched helplessly as this man kicked his own son into lava; he didn't even spare Superman.
What kind of monster is this? What wouldn't it dare to do?!
Carter shielded Kendra behind him, his arm muscles tense.
He wasn't asking to win now; he just hoped this jinx wouldn't notice them.
Kendra's face was swollen into a small hill, and blood was still flowing from the broken wing, but she gritted her teeth and didn't utter a sound.
The resentment and murderous intent from before had long since vanished in fear.
He can toss Batman and Superman into the furnace like trash, so what is someone like me?
They were terrified that if they made even the slightest noise, they would be the next ones thrown in.
Thor sized up the two men.
This eagle certainly deserved a beating, but it didn't deserve to die, especially since Bruce pleaded for her.
After all, he is an elder who is full of fatherly love.
Thor reached into his tactical belt, pulled out a vial of green-glowing healing potion, and casually tossed it over.
The glass tube hit Carter's feet and rolled twice.
"Apply it to the wound to stop the bleeding," Thor said, then ignored them and turned his attention back to the World Forge.
Carter stared at the potion on the ground, his Adam's apple bobbing.
He suspected the drug was poisonous or some kind of control measure.
However, Kendra in her arms was breathing weaker and weaker, and excessive blood loss had brought her to the brink of shock.
Carter gritted his teeth, picked up the potion, uncorked it, and poured the green liquid directly onto Kendra's broken wing.
A miracle happened.
As soon as the green liquid came into contact with the wound, the skin and flesh began to wriggle and heal, and the rolled-up blood vessels reconnected.
Kendra let out a muffled groan, and some color returned to his pale face.
Carter was completely stunned and looked up at Thor's broad back.
He couldn't understand this person at all.
He is ruthless and decisive, yet he can also casually toss out a life-saving medicine.
This extreme contrast completely distorted Carter's perception. Could he have... just been standing up for Bruce?
Thor ignored what the two birdmen behind him were thinking. He stared at the churning firelight below, mentally grumbling.
This place is really eerie.
Even at his current level, he couldn't fathom the true nature of the World Forge.
He had just tried to use Law of Analysis to dissect the furnace's structure, but the returned information was all gibberish.
This involves not only the Law of Creation, but also the intertwining of the end, chaos, and order.
That's normal.
The world of American comics is full of over-the-top monsters.
The screenwriter wanted to strengthen a character, so they arbitrarily added settings to raise the character's potential.
They wanted to weaken him, so they just found some excuse to drag him down.
Take the Flash, for example.
Within ten picoseconds of a nuclear explosion, half a million people were saved.
Even at the absolute limit, this is still a speed of over a trillion times the speed of light.
At this speed, the kinetic energy is so great that it could directly shatter a universe.
And the result?
He can slip on a banana peel while jogging, get hit by a minor villain's Cold Gun, and even be forced into a frantic state by a few bullets.
Take Green Lantern, for example. He's supposed to be able to materialize anything with his willpower, but he still ends up getting his usual setbacks.
And then there's Bruce, who's said to be a mortal comparable to a god. Given enough time to prepare, he could even outmaneuver Darkseid.
And the result?
Normally, he can't even handle Joker in Gotham; he's always playing cat and mouse with these lunatics.
The top-tier powerhouses like DC and Marvel cannot be predicted using common sense.
Thor closed his eyes and tried to extend his senses outwards.
The Law of Space and the Law of Analysis were activated simultaneously, attempting to penetrate the barriers of this space.
My senses were filled with chaos.
The rules of the Dark Multiverse acted like a thick sheet of lead, completely blocking his exploration of the Light Multiverse.
Although Barbatos opened the portal, he absolutely could not just casually walk through to investigate.
If Barbatos gets his attention, and the other side launches a surprise attack, things could get really messy.
In the Light Universe, also known as the Prime Universe, Barbatos is suppressed by the rules, Thor is 100% confident that he can pin this giant bat to the ground and beat it to a pulp.
However, this is the Dark Multiverse.
Before arriving, Thor sensed Barbatos's energy level in the Prime Universe: the pinnacle of the multiverse.
Based on home advantage, Barbatos is at least a Megaverse Level existence in this godforsaken place.
The odds of winning are too low if the battle is to be fought on the enemy's stronghold.
The battlefield must be located in the Prime Universe.
It would be great if you could bring Phoenix Jean / Grey along.
With the Phoenix Force at full power, burning through this Dark Universe would be no difficult task.
Unfortunately, I can't bring it with me.
The God of the DC Universe would never allow an Omniverse Level being to cross over and cause trouble.
If Omniverse Level forces collide, the entire DC Multiverse will be overturned.
That old God will surely unleash divine punishment and wipe out all the outsiders.
Thor had a bit of a headache.
If I transcend the Multiverse Level and reach the Megaverse Level in the future, will I still be able to casually visit DC?
Will these supreme gods simply blacklist me?
Suddenly, the lava below began to churn violently.
The pungent smell of sulfur assaulted the nostrils, and a dazzling white gradually peeked through the center of the originally dark red flames.
Huge bubbles surged to the surface from the depths with a dull popping sound.
Faintly, a deep metallic rumble emanated from the deepest part of the furnace, like some giant beast that had been sleeping for millions of years awakening.
Something is about to come out!
