Inside the plane parked on the ground.
A team member assigned to guard the plane sat in his seat, bored, playing Sheep a Sheep on his phone.
"Come on! Can't you let me watch a couple more ads? I was so close to beating it!"
A huge "Challenge failed" message popped up on his phone, and the team member threw his head back and wailed in frustration.
Just as he took a sip of water and prepared to try again, his captain, Sun Hai, suddenly gave an order over the walkie-talkie at his waist:
"Static... unexpected situation... I've met a strange girl here... when you come over... bring some clothes, coats, that sort of thing... Feng Xuan, you're guarding the plane, so get the medical supplies ready too..."
"Pfft...!"
Feng Xuan sprayed out the water he was halfway through drinking.
"What... what the heck?! Met a what?
A girl?!
And he wants me to get medical supplies ready? Is he bringing this girl back?!"
Feng Xuan was so shocked he could barely get the words out.
After such a fierce missile bombardment, even a T. rex would have died ten or twenty times over. To say a girl was still alive here-wasn't that complete bullshit?!
And Sun Hai was going to bring her back. Wasn't he afraid she was a monster in disguise?
Although that was what Feng Xuan thought, the captain had given an order, and there was nothing he could do. He couldn't very well refuse.
So he obediently took out the medical supplies in the vehicle: antibiotics, surgical kits, gauze, disinfectant alcohol and the like.
Once he had done all that, he plopped back down in his seat.
Even now, he still found it hard to believe they could find a living person in such a dangerous place.
"Has the captain been single for so long, and read so many romance novels and stuff, that he's started hallucinating?"
Feng Xuan thought about it and felt it made perfect sense.
If that really was the case, the other team members would notice when they reached the captain, and after they pointed it out, the captain would probably come to his senses.
"Ahh~"
Feng Xuan stretched.
"Sure enough, the captain's just too tired. Next time, I should tell him to ask the higher-ups for some time off."
Then he resumed playing Sheep a Sheep, waiting for his teammates to send him the "good news" that the captain was hallucinating.
But the minutes and seconds ticked by, and still no sound came from the walkie-talkie. The only sound in the entire armored vehicle was the repeated failure notification from Sheep a Sheep.
When the failure message popped up again for he didn't know how many times, Feng Xuan suppressed the urge to smash his phone, locked the screen and stopped playing.
Then he checked the time on his watch.
"Huh?" he murmured in puzzlement.
Strange. They should be almost back by now, so why haven't they said the captain's hallucinating? Could there really be a girl?

Just as Feng Xuan's thoughts were racing, someone suddenly opened the plane's door.
It was Sun Hai, carrying the girl, along with the other team members.
After opening the door, they paid no attention to the dumbstruck Feng Xuan and stepped into the vehicle.
Sun Hai set the girl down on a seat, then asked two team members for a few articles of clothing and draped them over her, covering her as thoroughly as possible.
Then Sun Hai asked Feng Xuan, who was still in a daze:
"Are there any female team members on this mission?"
"Huh? Oh, no. Only our squad is taking part in this mission, and that female rookie won't be here for a few more days."
Sun Hai's question brought him back to his senses, and he answered.
"Hmm... that makes things tricky."
Sun Hai stroked his chin and ordered the team:
"Head to the nearest hospital. First, have them check whether this girl has any injuries, then report the situation to the higher-ups."
"Yes, sir!"
After receiving the captain's order, Feng Xuan, who had stayed in the vehicle the whole time, hurried to the driver's seat and drove toward the nearby hospital.
