The Culprit's True Colors Revealed
"Ring, ring, ring-"
The bell rang for class.
The students hurriedly shut their mouths in fright and ran to their classrooms.
Gu Wanyang pulled Ye Huo toward class.
Ye Huo wasn't in the mood.
She told Gu Wanyang to go back to the classroom; she had something else to take care of.
"Sister Huo, people always say you should be willing to take a knife in the ribs for a friend and stand by them! If they're falsely accusing you, they're falsely accusing me too. I'm not going to class. I'm going with you to find the people who framed you!"
Gu Wanyang puffed out her cheeks and spoke angrily.
She wouldn't let those rumormongers hide in dark corners like rats in a gutter, snickering to themselves.
She would make sure they got the punishment they deserved.
"I'm going too!" Lu Zichen wanted to skip class as well.
"Then let's go!"
Ye Huo's red lips curved upward, and she led her two followers to the main surveillance room in the teaching building with an imposing air.
She, Ye Huo, was the illustrious mercenary queen.
Others should count themselves lucky if she didn't kill them. How could she allow anyone to insult her? Insult her family?
"Now that's... Sister Huo!"
"So cool!"
Gu Wanyang exclaimed in heartfelt admiration.
The three walked side by side all the way to the teaching building's main control room, their manner fierce.
The teacher on duty was asleep.
Ye Huo brought her palm down, sending the desk flying with a tremendous crash that shook heaven and earth.
It nearly scared the teacher's soul straight to the Western Paradise.
"You three should be in class. What are you doing here?"
The teacher in charge of campus security stood up and demanded an answer in a booming voice.
"Teacher, I want to see the surveillance footage."
Ye Huo lifted her chin slightly, her voice cold with an inborn arrogance and an authority that brooked no refusal.
"Not just anyone can look at the surveillance footage. What class are you in? How dare you act so arrogantly! Get out!"
With his authority challenged, the stern-faced, old-fashioned teacher paid Ye Huo no heed.
He strode over, ready to shove her out.
Ye Huo stopped holding back.
With her slender, delicate fingers, she grabbed the man's arm and pulled hard.
With a crack, his bone broke.
"Let go of me! It hurts like hell!"
He let out a heartrending howl.
Ye Huo frowned slightly, released his arm, and said coldly, "Without basic training, don't touch me so casually again, or you'll be the one with broken arms and legs!"
How formidable!
He clutched his cramping arm, his face twisted in pain, but he no longer dared make a sound.
The strong ruled.
He was truly afraid that if he said anything else, this girl would cripple him.
"Check the surveillance for me. The twenty-four-hour footage from last night through this morning."
Ye Huo's delicate face was expressionless, but the corners of her lips curved up slightly, revealing a terrifying killing intent.
She wanted to see just who had such a death wish that they dared spread rumors about the queen.
"O-okay."
The man's head was covered in sweat from nerves, and his voice grew weaker, tinged with a hint of pleading. "Um, could you put my arm back first?"
Otherwise, how was he supposed to work?
Ye Huo walked over, gripped his arm, and gave it a tug and a pull. A loud, sharp crack rang out, and his arm joint was back in place.
"Done!"
Ye Huo spoke with an indifferent expression.
He flexed his fingers, and sure enough, they were fine.
Now, a trace of awe entered his gaze as he looked at Ye Huo, and he no longer dared put on an ugly display of authority.
He moved the mouse, clicked through all the computer screens in the main control room, and began searching the twenty-four-hour surveillance footage.
Sure enough, they found a shifty-looking boy who had climbed over the school wall at twelve the previous night and plastered the bulletin boards with those papers.
"Sister Huo, I recognize him! He's Bai Yaxi's simp from Class 3-Bean Sprout. His real name is Qian Xiaoteng!"
Gu Wanyang said in surprise.
She couldn't have mistaken him.
The boy was called Bean Sprout because he was small and skinny, just like a bean sprout. Everyone called him that behind his back.
His family was in the clothing business, and he was a wealthy second-generation heir.
He was a well-known simp in Class 3.
He and Bai Yaxi were childhood sweethearts. He had pursued her since kindergarten and had worked desperately to get into the same class as his goddess.
Every time they had PE, Gu Wanyang saw him fussing around Bai Yaxi, carrying ice cream, juice, and an electric fan for her.
Bai Yaxi didn't think much of him at all; she was just stringing him along.
The designer clothes she wore, her bags, and her phone had all been bought for her by the simp.
But she thoroughly despised Bean Sprout's scrawny figure and called him an ugly freak behind his back.
"Very good!"
Ye Huo had found the culprit.
She wasn't going to hold back anymore!
She strode toward Class 3 with the iron-blooded bearing of the mercenary queen, brimming with killing intent.
In Class 3, Teacher Li, wearing glasses, was teaching.
Bang.
Ye Huo kicked the door open, and it slammed against the wall with a deafening crash.
Teacher Li's heart nearly stopped from fright.
He had never seen such a daring girl. He instantly threw down the book in his hand and finally exploded.
"Who is that? How ill-mannered! Don't you know how to knock?"
He practically burst with rage.
"Heh, you want to talk to me about manners? Teach the people in your class properly first!"
Ignoring him, Ye Huo strode up to the lectern, picked up the blackboard eraser, and slammed it down. Her sharp voice shook the entire room. "Who's Bean Sprout? Stand up!"
"You... what do you want with me?"
A boy sitting by the aisle on the left side of the second row shakily stood up.
His eyes darted about, and his face was full of guilt. He didn't dare look anyone in the eye.
"Sister Huo, that's him! He's Qian Xiaoteng!"
Gu Wanyang pointed at Bean Sprout and spoke excitedly.
Radiating killing intent, Ye Huo stepped down from the lectern and stood before Bean Sprout.
This was her first time in Class 3 of the music performance department.
This supposedly lofty elite class had actually done something so shameless.
She threw the A4 sheets bearing last night's rumors in the culprit's face and said coldly, "Listen carefully! I, Ye Huo, was born someone you don't want to mess with. Not just anyone can point fingers at me and spread malicious rumors! Whoever dares spread rumors about me, I'll make him regret ever living in this world!"
Those domineering, ruthless words scared Bean Sprout half to death.
His legs gave way, and he nearly fell to his knees before the queen on the spot.
"I... you... what proof do you have that I did it?"
He was scared to death, yet he still desperately tried to deny it.
Ye Huo's cold gaze swept over his sleazy face.
A brilliant flash of killing intent passed through her eyes.
Her lips curved into a faint, cold sneer, and a chilling killing intent radiated from her.
A dangerous aura spread through the room.
Ye Huo's gaze turned cold. "I have the surveillance footage. Let's go talk at the police station."
"The police station... I... I'm not going."
Bean Sprout still wanted to deny responsibility.
He looked pleadingly at everyone around him, but not one person dared step in to protect him.
After all, the surveillance footage showed it all too clearly: he had done something dirty that ruined someone's reputation.
He deserved the punishment coming to him!
"I'm not going. I don't want to go to jail, I don't want to go to jail!"
Bean Sprout broke out in a cold sweat from fright and got up to run.
Ye Huo pulled out a pen and flicked her wrist, aiming straight at the back of Bean Sprout's leg.
She was fast. The pen stabbed into his thigh, nearly crippling his left leg.
The pain made cold sweat pour off him, and he nearly died on the spot.
"Boss, it wasn't my fault. Bai Yaxi told me to do it!"
Bean Sprout knelt on the floor, weeping bitterly. "She said that as long as I helped her vent her anger, she'd agree to be my girlfriend!"
"Idiot! She was just using you."
Lu Zichen said, frustrated that Bean Sprout wouldn't shape up. Ye Huo glanced around. Bai Yaxi's leg was broken, and she had taken leave from class.
Did she think she could rest at home and nothing could go wrong? Heh!
Ye Huo had always repaid every grudge.
She left Bean Sprout behind, skipped class, and ran off.
That damned white lotus had schemed so deliberately to spread rumors and slander her. Ye Huo didn't want to put up with it for another second.
She rode a red heavy motorcycle out through the school gates like a bolt of lightning, speeding off to teach Bai Yaxi how to behave!
