When Turles's figure completely loomed over Jass, he looked down at him with a cold, contemptuous smile. The thread of reason in Jass's mind finally snapped.
"Aaaaah-!"
A roar unlike anything human erupted from Jass's throat.
The fear, hatred, and resentment he had bottled up for over twenty years all exploded at once.
He vanished from where he stood in an instant.
The ground shattered inch by inch beneath his feet, leaving a shallow, spiderweb-shaped crater.
A piercing rush of displaced air hurt everyone's eardrums.
The next second, Jass appeared in front of Turles, so close they were practically touching.
With both hands raised high, he conjured two massive hammers of pure energy out of thin air and smashed them down at Turles's face with the force to destroy everything!
"So fast!"
Amond cried out reflexively.
Daiz's pupils contracted slightly as well. The speed had exceeded his expectations.
"Jass!"
Elec cried out in alarm. He wanted Jass to win, but he was also afraid something might happen to him.
"He's already starting to release more of his power..."
"I hope things don't get out of hand..."
Peering through a crack in the spaceship's hatch, Tights covered her mouth, her eyes wide and round.
All she saw was a blurry shadow, followed by two weapons radiating terrifying energy, about to smash the man called Turles into mincemeat.
A cloud of dust spread out.
Amond's scouter locked onto a rising energy level in the thick smoke.
But no one appeared for a long while.
Everyone present involuntarily held their breath.
Their eyes stayed fixed on the center of the battlefield.
At last, the dust slowly settled.
At the sight within, Elec and the others' hearts tightened.
Amond and Daiz, on the other hand,
wore smiles, as if everything had gone exactly as expected.
There in the dust, Turles held Jass off the ground as though he were a chick.
A trace of crimson had already seeped from the corner of Jass's mouth.
His eyes seemed somewhat unfocused and bewildered.
Why?
Why was this Saiyan so strong?
Stronger than that guy from more than twenty years ago?
His self-doubt grew more intense.
So was it because Saiyans were too strong, or... because I was too weak?
Was I really that weak?
He was the Heeters Family's hope for ruling the universe!
If I can't even beat a Saiyan under Frieza, how can the Heeters Family replace Frieza and rule the universe?
If Turles had known what he was thinking, it would have been just like the joke of a frog at the bottom of a well gazing at the moon.
Of course, he could never have imagined that the Heeters Family, whom he himself did not even take seriously, harbored the mad ambition of replacing Frieza.
No, it could hardly even be called an ambition. It was pure delusion.
Turles's expression did not change as he spoke calmly.
"What's wrong?"
"Weren't you going to sever your inner demon?"
"At this level, you won't be able to do it!"
Turles's words completely lit the final fire of judgment Jass had turned on himself.
"Hah, this guy's power level..."
The smile had yet to leave Amond's face when the numbers on his scouter's lens suddenly began flashing wildly.
Like a wild horse breaking free of its reins, the number instantly burst past twenty thousand.
"What's going on?"
A purple aura erupted from Jass's small body like a volcano.
The ground beneath his feet cracked inch by inch, and fierce winds swept sand and stones outward in every direction.
Crackle-
A piercing electrical report rang out.
The scouter in Amond's hand exploded without warning.
Black fragments and electric sparks flew everywhere, and the sharp edge of one fragment grazed Amond's cheek.
Yet he felt no pain at all.
His widened eyes stayed fixed on what lay ahead, his mouth slightly open, his whole body as still as if a binding spell had been cast on him.
"Jass!"
Maki screamed reflexively, with Oil's fat body shielding her from in front.
Crack.
A crisp shattering sound rang out.
A crack appeared on the surface of the headpiece suppressing Jass's power.
The entire headpiece shattered completely, turning to powder and dissipating in the purple aura.
Before everyone's eyes, his body began to change at a visible rate.
His bones cracked and popped as his once-short frame was forcibly stretched half a head taller.
His slender muscles bulged, stretching his Battle Suit taut.
Elec watched without any surprise on his face.
His gaze grew intensely focused.
"So you released it after all... Go, Jass! I'm looking forward to seeing the results of all these years too..."
"Roar-!"
An inhuman roar erupted from Jass's throat.
The sound waves became a tangible shock wave, forcing Daiz and Amond to take half a step back.
Jass vanished from where he stood.
Only a faint purple afterimage remained.
The air in front of Turles exploded.
Jass appeared out of thin air, his now somewhat ferocious face showing nothing but madness.
He abandoned the energy weapons he was best at materializing.
Instead, he threw a punch in the most primitive and violent way.
The punch did not even produce any flashy light effects.
But wherever his fist passed, the air was compressed to its limit, producing an unbroken series of explosions.
Amond and Daiz's expressions changed instantly.
Daiz said nothing. He hurriedly raised his hand and pressed the switch on the scouter by his ear.
The next second, Jass appeared in front of Turles and blasted a straight punch packed with terrifying power toward him.
Turles raised his left arm across his body.
Bang!
Fist and arm collided with a dull boom.
A powerful blast of air erupted around them, making even Elec and Maki squint reflexively in the distance.
The wind pressure carved two shallow furrows into the ground beneath Amond, Daiz, and Cacao.
The look of someone enjoying a good show had vanished from Amond's face. He stepped forward and lowered his body slightly.
He braced himself against the gusts coming from the battlefield.
The wind pressure in the canyon reached its peak in an instant.
The two figures were already locked in combat.
The purple aura and the faint energy surrounding Turles clashed constantly. Every exchange kicked up a violent energy storm, sweeping stones into the air and crushing them to powder in an invisible energy field.
They were too fast.
Maki and Oil's eyes could no longer follow them at all. They could only see two blurry figures flashing back and forth through the canyon, each collision accompanied by a deafening boom.
On Daiz's scouter lens, the reading for Jass's power level had stabilized.
[30000!]
"This guy..."
"His power level is actually that high!"
Amond was stunned for a moment too, then exchanged a glance with Daiz.
A trace of wonder at how many powerful fighters the universe held flashed through both their eyes.
