Arc 1The Butterfly Mansion

Kiyohiko earned the trust of Tanjiro and the other candidates by saving them, then survived the Hashira’s judgment and was placed under Shinobu’s supervision. At the Butterfly Mansion, his concern for Shinobu’s poisoned body unsettled her, while their teasing and growing closeness continued.

  • Kiyohiko rejected the Hand Demon’s offer and left to find Tanjiro, then met Zenitsu and healed several injured candidates by taking their wounds onto himself.
  • Kiyohiko protected Tanjiro from the Hand Demon, helped him defeat it, and then struggled against his hunger after saving two more candidates.
  • Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and the candidates Kiyohiko had healed defended him from the Ubuyashiki twins, and Kagaya ordered that he be taken to Shinobu rather than harmed.
  • Shinobu questioned and tested Kiyohiko before Kagaya judged that he had proved himself by resisting Sanemi’s Marechi blood and assigned Shinobu to supervise him.
  • At the Butterfly Mansion, Kiyohiko promised to kill demons for Shinobu, met Aoi, and began training with Shinobu in the dark dojo.
  • Kiyohiko healed Shinobu’s cut palm by taking the wound, revealed that her poison damaged his regenerative cells, and asked why she risked her health carrying so much poison.
  • Aoi told Kiyohiko that Shinobu changed after Kanae died and used poison to fight as the Insect Hashira, while Shinobu wondered whether Kiyohiko cared about her and Kanao noticed her reactions to him.
  • Kiyohiko found Shinobu on the roof, teased her about her pickles and Wisteria, and began a ghost story about a kindhearted demon and a mean woman.

Arc 2Shinobu’s Mission Box

Kiyohiko grew closer to Shinobu Kocho as she trained and treated him, while his reckless healing forced them to confront how much they worried about each other. Shinobu eventually took him on a mission in a padded box, and their arrival at a wisteria-crested house left them facing a single guest room after the old woman mistook them for spouses.

  • Kiyohiko told Shinobu a story about a demon sharing a woman's burdens, and her Bond Value rose as she agreed to let him try to help her.
  • Kiyohiko sparred with Kanao and then endured Shinobu’s punishing training, while Shinobu later examined him and had him complete a lengthy health questionnaire.
  • Kiyohiko’s trap backfired when Shinobu tipped its contents onto him, and she assigned him three days of medicinal-powder grinding without a mask.
  • Kiyohiko healed a badly wounded Demon Slayer by taking the same injury himself, prompting Shinobu to cook him a special meal and warn him against reckless use of his Blood Demon Art.
  • After Shinobu became angry that Kiyohiko refused to stop saving people, he apologized with ginger pork and told her she was the most important person to him, and she accepted.
  • Kiyohiko asked Shinobu about her connection to Giyu Tomioka and later shared stories about his past, while Shinobu said she was interested in everything about him.
  • Shinobu revealed that she had arranged a padded wooden box to take Kiyohiko on missions, and he shrank to child size and climbed inside as she carried him away.
  • Shinobu brought Kiyohiko to a wisteria-crested house and warned him to hide that he was a demon, but the old woman mistook them for a married couple and left them with only one guest room.
