The Great Luo Dynasty's Foundations!
"Against the tide of the greater world, what did you and I amount to?" The Holy Lord of Fengling was dismissive. He had just met a true personage and received a promise of some kind, so he did not fear Great Luo's military might.
"The times have long since changed. Are any of Great Luo's Quasi-Emperor and Saints still alive?" He stated it plainly: Great Luo's strongest people had already passed away, so what was there to fear?
"Withdraw from this star region, and you may yet live," Grand Elder Luo Jue said, making it clear that this was the final notice before war.
If they still refused, not a blade of grass would grow wherever Great Luo's iron cavalry passed.
"Arrogant fool! Do you still think this is the Blood Ancient era?" Another Venerable stepped forward. As he walked, the starry river flowed around him like an ancient emperor on a royal procession, myriad rays of starlight circling his body in a display of might.
"Out of regard for our past ties, if you withdraw now, we can act as though none of this happened." A Silver-Backed Demon Tiger leaped onto the starry river, carrying a blue-robed Daoist who was also a Holy Lord. He called out those words.
A supreme expert from the Great Luo Dynasty also took the field. Clad in golden robes and wearing a crown, he had black hair cascading like a waterfall, and his black eyes radiated domineering might as he looked down upon the starry river.
"The heavens and earth aren't the only things that have changed. People's hearts have changed too," Luo Qing, the current King of Great Luo, said softly, his voice carrying boundless majesty as it rang through the starry river. "The dogs of old are barking, hoping to replace their master."
His words were so cutting that they left the Holy Lords no face at all.
"Arrogant! A Divine Fire Realm junior dares to speak up!" The Holy Lord atop the Silver-Backed Demon Tiger flew into a rage and swung his horsetail whisk. Its silvery-white strands swelled in the wind, blotting out the starry river as they struck at Luo Qing.
That blow was enough to blast a star apart, displaying the full might of a Venerable. The beings watching this place marveled that it was indeed an extraordinary age, with Venerables running rampant after the Saints withdrew from the world.
"Trading on your seniority! A Venerable pushed up by time and great medicines dares to boast so shamelessly." King of Great Luo Luo Qing answered, swinging both fists as though wielding two great suns. His terrifying Qi and blood crushed the starry river beneath them.
Many could scarcely believe it. The King of Great Luo, at the peak of the Divine Fire Realm, had taken the initiative to fight a Venerable Realm Holy Lord. Even though the Holy Lord was only at the second heaven of the early Venerable Realm, it was still shocking.
The higher one climbed, the greater the gap became. Even ten beings at the ninth heaven of the Divine Fire Realm would struggle to defeat one who had just broken through to the Venerable Realm. It was a leap in the very origin of life, to the level of an unparalleled great power.
The horsetail whisk was beaten back again and again. Luo Qing darted through the starry river, swinging both fists, his vast blood Qi pressing down until the starry river trembled incessantly. Every punch seemed like a great sun crossing the sky, sweeping all before it.
He showed not the slightest sign of defeat or death. Instead, he grew ever more valiant, like a peerless divine king.
A jaw-dropping scene unfolded. After little more than ten exchanges, the Silver-Backed Demon Tiger at the peak of the Divine Fire Realm was beaten to pieces alive. The Holy Lord's hand trembled around his horsetail whisk, and he coughed up a trace of blood.
"A Divine Fire cultivator is suppressing a Venerable, displaying divine might and trying to smash him apart?" A being questioned what he saw, suspecting that Luo Qing was not at the Divine Fire Realm at all, but had long since broken through to the Venerable Realm and was now concealing his strength, playing the pig to eat the tiger.
"The tenth heaven of the Divine Fire Realm. As expected of a dynasty that once dared declare war on an imperial clan, to have such a figure." An imperial lord spoke from the shadows, revealing Luo Qing's true realm.
He was not a Venerable, but had broken through the limit of nine to reach the tenth heaven of the Divine Fire Realm.
"With talent like that, even in the present age, becoming a Saint would not be difficult." Someone sighed. If Luo Qing did not fall prematurely, he would surely become a Saint one day, and an outstanding one at that, with few rivals.
"Our eyes have failed us. We did not recognize a True Person," said the Holy Lord surrounded by myriad rays of starlight. With a wave of his hand, he hurled hundreds of millions of brilliant rays at Luo Qing.
"It has been a long time since I last fought. With an opponent like this today, my hands are truly itching." Killing intent filled the Holy Lord of Fengling's eyes as he boldly attacked, wielding a great silver staff to suppress and kill Luo Qing.
It was a Saint weapon left behind by an old Saint of the Fengling Sacred Land who had passed away. It was meant to suppress the land's destiny, yet the Holy Lord of Fengling had brought it out.
The laughable thing was that the old Saint had once been saved by the first King of Great Luo and had been utterly loyal to the Great Luo Dynasty.
If his departed spirit learned that a descendant had taken the Saint weapon he left behind to kill the current King of Great Luo, would he be unable to rest in peace?
The great silver staff possessed astonishing power. It bore a Saint's great Dao and retained a measure of a Saint's might. One swing sent ripples through the starry river; it was truly terrifying.
Facing the three surrounding him, Luo Qing showed not the slightest desire to retreat. The royal robe he wore had been passed down through a hundred generations. From the first King of Great Luo to the present, it had accompanied a hundred great powers and had been touched by their Dao and karma. It could be regarded as a sacred relic.
A golden dragon surged from the royal robe and clashed head-on with the great silver staff. The collision between the two Saint weapons was staggering. Had the surrounding starry river not been empty, countless stars would likely have been reduced to nothing.
"So valiant! Will the Great Luo Dynasty's former glory return in this age?" A royal lord marveled. Once such a fierce figure fully matured, he would fear no enemy and would suppress all who defied him with his fists.
"Is that lineage about to emerge? The sharp edge it has concealed for so long is being revealed today." Great Qin's imperial lord gazed on with profound eyes.
"A bunch of jumping clowns. If they really draw out someone from that lineage, they'll be nothing but discarded pieces," Ji Changyu, the current patriarch of the Ji Clan, said coldly.
These beings standing at the very pinnacle of the cultivation world could see far and deep. Whether it was Great Luo or those great sacred lands, they were merely pieces placed on the board before the world.
The forces behind them were what truly gave these beings cause for wariness.
"What a junior. Truly extraordinary." Another Venerable took the field, but concealed his form and Qi, unwilling to show his true face.
"Such nerve! Since when have even Venerables been bold enough to gang up on the king of my Great Luo?"
The furious shout rang out as supreme experts emerged one after another from Great Luo's direction. There were more than thirty of them, all at or above the Venerable Realm. Their Qi far surpassed that of the Holy Lord of Fengling and the others; they were great powers who had stood in the Venerable Realm for a long time.
"That is Luo Sifu, a former King of Great Luo. Eight hundred thousand years ago, he was already at the ninth heaven of the Venerable Realm. I wonder whether he has taken that step now." An old Holy Lord was filled with emotion. He had only recently awakened, yet had already encountered someone he knew from the past.
"Luo Sanxian, the seventh King of Great Luo. He disappeared after stepping halfway into the Saint Realm. Many suspected that his enemies had found and killed him, yet he has reappeared today." Even an Ancient Saint was shocked. In that era, he had only been at the Divine Fire Realm. When Great Luo and the Ji Clan fought a bloody war, he had been fortunate enough to witness Luo Sanxian's methods. He was an iron-blooded king, and today he had reappeared.
"Are these Great Luo's foundations?" Even great powers at the peak of the Venerable Realm were chilled. As expected of a Dao lineage that had once been able to declare war on an imperial clan: more than thirty old ancients at or above the Venerable Realm had awakened, and several were even suspected of having taken that step, transcending the mortal realm to become Saints.
"With foundations like these, who but an imperial Dao lineage could defeat them?" The lords of sacred lands in countless lesser realms marveled from the heart. In this age, even Venerables were hard to find, let alone Saints.
"It seems Great Luo really has only two or three stray cats left." A faint voice drifted over from tens of millions of miles away. An incomparable radiance illuminated the entire star region as a being clad in white armor crossed through space. Armor covered the being's entire body, leaving only seven smooth wings and a pair of white eyes exposed.
"It's him! He still hasn't died!" Even Great Qin's imperial lord was shaken. The being's background was immense, and his power reached the heavens.
