Frieza actually had no idea that Cooler had a fifth form. He thought Son Goku, who had killed Cooler, only had a Power Level a little over 200 million.

With a roar from Frieza, a mass of purple energy enveloped his entire towering body.
An astonishing aura spread out from Frieza.
"W-what? How can Frieza be so strong?" Vegeta stared at Frieza in midair, cold sweat running down his face.
He had secretly picked up a crude understanding of how to use Ki, so he could naturally sense the astonishing Ki coming from Frieza.
When the purple energy dispersed, it revealed Frieza's considerably shorter body.
"Ho ho ho, Mr. Son Goku, my Power Level has now reached 600 million. Do you think you still stand a chance?" Frieza said confidently.
"Oh, really? You look pretty short to me. Is it because good things come in small packages?" Goku was more than happy to get under Frieza's skin.
Veins bulged on Frieza's forehead. He could no longer contain his rage, and purple energy poured from his body.
He hated it most when people called him short!
"Damn monkey, die!"
Frieza threw a punch at Goku.
Goku blocked it with his elbow, deflected the force, and slipped past it. Then he turned and drove an elbow into Frieza's abdomen.
"Ah!"
Frieza spat up a mouthful of bitter fluid. Before he could react, Goku swept a kick into his face.
In an instant, Frieza became an afterimage, streaking across the sky and crashing into a mountain.

Before the smoke could clear, Goku cupped his hands at his waist, the blue light in them growing steadily brighter.
"Kamehameha, coming right up!"
A towering blue beam struck the mountain. In an instant, heaven and earth lost their color, and a huge mushroom cloud rose.
Boom!!!
A powerful shockwave from the explosion swept outward, sending countless pieces of rock flying. Vegeta was forced to retreat a thousand meters.
"Has Kakarot already gotten that strong? Could he be the Legendary Super Saiyan?"

Goku, who had been locked in combat with Frieza, hurriedly dodged away. Looking at Frieza enveloped in dark energy, he could sense an immense amount of Ki coming from it.
Goku hurriedly opened the panel and looked at Frieza.

Goku frowned. What on earth was going on? Where had that sudden burst of dark energy come from?
"Hey, Kakarot, what's going on? Why did Frieza's Ki increase so much again?"
Vegeta flew over and asked Goku.
"I don't know, but one thing's certain: his Power Level has skyrocketed to 15 billion!" Goku looked at Frieza with a grave expression.
He wasn't afraid of Frieza as he was now. He was afraid another mass of dark energy might appear and strengthen Frieza again.
"Then what do we do now? Your strength..."
Before Vegeta could finish, Goku cut him off.
Goku looked at Vegeta with a smile.
"Vegeta, don't worry. Have you heard of Super Saiyans?"
"W-what?"
"Ha!"
In an instant, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan with golden hair and teal eyes. Vegeta stared at him blankly.
He fell into thought.
So that's it. Kakarot really is the Legendary Super Saiyan!

By then, Goku had gathered a mixture of golden and blue energy in his hands.

The terrifying aura forced Vegeta to fly away.
"Hahaha, Mr. Son Goku, my power is now..."
The dark energy gradually dispersed, revealing Frieza's body. Black-purple flames of Ki now rose from all over him.
"I'll finish you off in one shot!"
"Ha! Ha!!!"
Goku used Instant Transmission to appear in front of Frieza and unleashed the Ultimate Kamehameha he had spent so long gathering.
Frieza's entire body was engulfed in an instant. The gold-and-blue energy wave swept across the land, across the ocean, and through the sky before shooting out into space.

Frieza turned to ash amid his own screams, and the gold-and-blue energy gradually vanished into the sky.
"Phew! Finally taken care of."
Goku breathed a sigh of relief after Frieza was eliminated. He didn't dare fool around anymore, for fear that doing so would lead to another mishap.
After returning to his base form, Goku found Vegeta.
Seeing the dejected look on Vegeta's face, he instantly understood what Vegeta was thinking.
It was simply that Goku had turned out to be the Legendary Super Saiyan, and Vegeta's pride as the Saiyan Prince couldn't take it.

"Did you think there could only be one Super Saiyan?" Goku asked with a smile.

"What? Kakarot, are you saying I can become a Super Saiyan too?"
Vegeta sounded a little excited! No one could blame him; any Saiyan would be excited to learn that.

Goku nodded, then continued.
"There are two conditions for becoming a Super Saiyan. First, your base Power Level has to reach 3 million. Second, you have to be angry enough."
Goku felt that these conditions might apply to pure-blooded Saiyans.
For hybrids, especially those born after their parents could transform into Super Saiyans, those conditions might not need to be taken too seriously.
