Three days later, in the Blood-Colored Forest

Ever since Qin Yi had entered the Blood-Colored Forest three days ago, he had proceeded with the utmost caution, intent only on finding the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros. Unfortunately, some blind Demon Beasts had insisted on finding out what he tasted like, and Qin Yi had sent them off to their next lives with a backhand.

Qin Yi was now in a cave, replenishing his Spiritual Qi. In such a dangerous environment, he had to keep himself at his peak at all times.

"How come I haven't even seen a trace of the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros or the Nine-Eyed Demon Spider?" Qin Yi looked at the mountain of Demon Beast corpses in his Storage Bag and fell into thought.

"Forget it. I'll keep looking ahead. Hopefully I'll run into them up there. If I still can't find them, I'll have to change direction." Any farther ahead, and he would be nearing the inner reaches of the Blood-Colored Forest, where Foundation Establishment Demon Beasts roamed everywhere. A mere Qi Refining cultivator like him was clearly no match for them.

Qin Yi stood up, straightened his wrinkled purple robes, then used Shadow Ghost Steps and continued on his way.

Half an hour later, Qin Yi stopped and concealed his presence, watching the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros strolling ahead. "You've come right to my doorstep, so I won't stand on ceremony."

Following the route the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros was taking, Qin Yi placed several Worry-Free Fruits in its path. Of course, he had already smeared some Soul-Bewildering Powder on them. As long as the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros ate them, even if it didn't pass out, its fighting strength would be weakened.

Watching the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros approach the Worry-Free Fruits step by step, Qin Yi felt that his hard work over the past few days had not been in vain. He hid himself in a dense thicket, waiting for the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros to fall for the trap so he could reap his prize with ease.

Just as the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros sniffed the Worry-Free Fruits and was about to take a bite, a voice rang out and startled it. Qin Yi's face immediately darkened.

"Senior Brother, look! It's a Golden-Horned Rhinoceros! We've finally found one after searching for so many days."

"Junior Sister, slow down. You can't fight that rhinoceros on your own."

A man and a woman approached together from the distance. Interrupted just as it was about to eat, the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros had grown furious. Its eyes were slightly red as it stared fixedly at the pair.

Only when the two drew near did Qin Yi get a clear look at their faces. The woman had bright, attractive features, flushed cheeks, and a heaving chest. She had probably been traveling for a long time. In terms of looks, she could be considered a beauty. The man behind her was tall and slender, with a rather handsome face and a longsword in his hand. He carried himself with an air of arrogance, and it was obvious at a glance that he had led a pampered life.

"Junior Sister, stay back. I'll deal with this beast." The man was clearly trying to show off in front of the woman. Judging by the fluctuations of Spiritual Qi around him, Qin Yi could tell he was only at the Eighth Layer of Qi Refining, yet he certainly talked big.

The man struck quickly, but his sword moves were flashy and all show. Although he left several wounds on the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros, none were serious. The man, however, was extremely pleased with himself, and the woman's admiring gaze made him fight even harder.

The man had been locked in combat with the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros for nearly a quarter of an hour, with no end in sight. Qin Yi was getting a little bored watching. Those two had no actual combat experience at all; sooner or later, they would be defeated.

Sure enough, before long, the man ran short of Spiritual Qi and failed to dodge in time. The Golden-Horned Rhinoceros sent him flying with a thrust of its horn. The woman in the distance hurriedly leaped in front of him to shield him, but her feeble spiritual power was like paper: the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros shattered it with a single touch.

Just as the two were about to lose their lives, Qin Yi seized the moment. Bolts of lightning appeared along his spear, and he aimed at the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros's exposed rear and hurled Cangyuan with all his might.

"Moo! Moo~"

The Golden-Horned Rhinoceros's miserable cries echoed through the forest. Qin Yi rushed behind it and pulled Cangyuan out. The Golden-Horned Rhinoceros collapsed to the ground in agony, wailing incessantly as drops of blood ran down the spearhead.

Qin Yi walked up in front of the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros and aimed at its eye. The power of lightning gathered on his spear, and he thrust it out, piercing straight through its skull in an instant and bringing its miserable life to an end.

Qin Yi then put the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros's corpse into his Storage Bag and prepared to leave. The smell of blood was too strong here and would attract other Demon Beasts. Unexpectedly, the woman objected and shouted at Qin Yi, "That's our prey! Give it back!"

"Give it back to you? To a pair of good-for-nothings like you?" Qin Yi turned around and mocked them mercilessly.

"Do you know who we are? I've already sent a voice transmission to my father. He'll be here soon. If you don't return our prey, he certainly won't spare you when he arrives," the woman said confidently. The man behind her nodded as well. At the thought of his master, he instantly regained his confidence.

"You said you called someone?" Qin Yi frowned and asked.

"Yes."

"Someone in the Foundation Establishment Realm?"

"That's right."

"I see. Then I'll give it to you," Qin Yi said nonchalantly.

"At least you know your place," the woman said proudly.

Just as the two thought Qin Yi would obediently hand over the Golden-Horned Rhinoceros's corpse, he took a spear wreathed in lightning from his Storage Bag. Before either of them could speak, the spear shot out and pierced through them both.

Qin Yi summoned a flame and watched their corpses gradually turn to ash. Once the bodies had burned, he rummaged through their Storage Bags. After making sure he had left no traces, he turned and departed, leaving behind only a patch of scorched earth.

"I don't care who you are. If you dare threaten me, death is your only path!"
