  • Zhang Junbao kicked the pierced juveniles in the backs of their heads, killing them.
  • Zhang Junbao found that the collision had severed the adult Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle’s neck, then slumped to the ground.

Ch. 35The Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle's Treasure

After the battle, Zhang Junbao searched the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle’s nest for food and discovered valuable equipment belonging to a dead human powerhouse. He equipped himself with the armor, took the monster’s unhatched egg, and prepared to continue surviving in the Wilderness Zone.

  • Zhang Junbao recovered enough strength to search for food and began gathering meat and furniture to make a fire.
  • He found a combat suit, backpack, and broken spearhead near the nest, and reasoned that the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle had killed a powerful human warrior.
  • Zhang Junbao put on the recovered combat suit, stowed the spearhead, and hoped to carry on the unknown warrior’s will.
  • He discovered an unhatched Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle egg in the nest and placed it in his backpack to benefit humanity.

Ch. 36World Destruction

  • Zhang Junbao roasted the young Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagles’ wings and removed the dead Advanced Beast General’s sword beak.
  • Zhang Junbao fashioned the beak into a sword, named it Dragon Roar, and discovered Hong’s World Destruction manual hidden in the combat suit.
  • Zhang Junbao studied the manual through the night, reasoning that he could adapt its spear intent to his own sword technique.
  • Zhang Junbao mastered the first layer by fusing World Destruction’s intent with his Taiji Sword Technique, then tested the resulting power on the eagle’s corpse.

Ch. 37Awakening

After the Purple Qi Comes from the East Art broke through its first level, Zhang Junbao became a Spirit Reader and tested his newfound power with Spiritual Force. While cultivating, he entered a mysterious inner world and discovered how purple mist converted cosmic energy into Spiritual Force.

  • Zhang Junbao realized his recent battles had helped him master the first level of World Destruction and break through the first level of the Purple Qi Comes from the East Art, making him a Spirit Reader.
  • Zhang Junbao used his Spiritual Force to lift and coordinate objects, then controlled the Dragon Roar Sword to pierce the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle's bone.
  • Zhang Junbao continued cultivating, absorbing cosmic energy faster and drawing it into his mind.
  • Zhang Junbao entered a mysterious realm of mist and found purple mist at its center converting cosmic energy into Spiritual Force.
  • Zhang Junbao reasoned that the purple mist came from the Purple Qi Comes from the East Art and that morning sunlight supplied the purple qi needed to refine it.

Ch. 38Luo Feng Falls Unconscious

After learning that Zhang Junbao had been carried off by a monster and might be dead, Luo Feng became overwhelmed by grief and helplessness. His pulse surged, he struck Yang Wu with martial-artist-level force, and he collapsed unconscious as his watch showed 280.

  • Luo Feng waited at the dojo for news of Zhang Junbao’s combat assessment while reflecting on his own progress.
  • Jiang Nian told Luo Feng that Zhang Junbao had killed one monster but had been carried away by a severely wounded Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle, and that rescue teams had little hope of finding him.
  • Luo Feng grew furious and desperate, wishing he had the strength to rescue Zhang Junbao as his pulse climbed rapidly.
  • Luo Feng struck Yang Wu with enough force to send him flying into a wall and make him spit blood.
  • Luo Feng collapsed into Jiang Nian’s arms after feeling intense pain in his heart and head, and Jiang Nian called for a doctor.

Ch. 39Preparing to Leave

After spending three days mastering his new strength and integrating Hong's World Destruction Spear Intent, Zhang Junbao decided to leave the building before its demonic beasts discovered the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle's weakness. He found an entrance to the underground parking garage, which offered a possible escape route beneath the avian beasts.

  • Zhang Junbao combined Hong's World Destruction Spear Intent with his Tai Chi techniques and mastered the first level of World Destruction.
  • Seeing demonic beasts move closer as the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle remained absent, Zhang Junbao gathered supplies and prepared to leave.
  • Zhang Junbao descended quietly but found the first and second floors crowded with demonic beasts blocking the stairwell.
  • Zhang Junbao considered using a Spiritual Force impact to incapacitate the beasts, then stopped probing when the two Beast Generals sensed his presence.
  • Zhang Junbao searched for an underground route and found the entrance to a spacious parking garage connected to garages beneath nearby buildings.

Ch. 40Breaking Out of the Nest

Zhang Junbao escaped the nest by killing the demonic beasts guarding it, then fled underground as the surrounding avian beasts swarmed the building. He found a subway route and continued searching for a way back, wondering what had happened to his family and martial arts assessment.

  • Zhang Junbao used Spiritual Shock to stun the beasts on the first and second floors, then killed more than a hundred Beast Soldiers and two Intermediate Beast Generals with iron nails and his weapons.
  • Zhang Junbao fled into the underground garage as the scent of blood drew avian beasts to the building and dozens of Beast Generals discovered their leader was dead.
  • Zhang Junbao hid in a fire exit, realized Spiritual Shock had consumed most of his Spiritual Force, and continued through the garage in search of an exit.
  • Zhang Junbao followed signs to a subway station, killed a Junior Beast General Gnawing Rat, and wondered whether his family was safe and whether he had passed the martial arts assessment.

Ch. 41Surrounded

Zhang Junbao tried to escape City 003 through a subway tunnel toward Yangzhou City but was surrounded by a vast swarm of Long-Fanged Bats. He fought his way through with his sword formations, while the monsters’ coordinated attacks suggested a powerful leader awaited him beyond the swarm.

  • Zhang Junbao studied a Shanghai subway map and chose a tunnel route toward Yangzhou City to avoid crossing the Wilderness Zone aboveground.
  • After traveling through the tunnel, Zhang Junbao sensed monsters approaching from both directions and realized he was surrounded by thousands of Long-Fanged Bats.
  • Zhang Junbao charged into the swarm and used the Two Forms Sword Formation to kill the bats blocking his path.
  • Zhang Junbao added two Long-Fanged Bat fangs to his formation, transforming it into the Four Symbols Sword Formation and increasing his killing speed.
  • Zhang Junbao searched for weak points in the swarm and pressed forward, conserving Spiritual Force because the bats appeared to be following orders from a stronger monster.

Ch. 42Chaotic Battle

Zhang Junbao used Tai Chi Circular Soft Force to turn the demonic beasts’ attacks against one another and escape their underground encirclement. He emerged at a subway entrance in City 003 and hid in a nearby supermarket to recover.

  • Zhang Junbao used the corpses of two Long-Fanged Bats as shields while he deflected the surrounding beasts’ attacks with Tai Chi Circular Soft Force.
  • Zhang Junbao redirected the beasts’ strength, causing them to collide, injure one another, and eventually turn on each other.
  • The demonic beasts descended into a chaotic battle, allowing Zhang Junbao to advance to the subway exit unnoticed.
  • A horde of demonic beasts poured from the subway entrance, drawing more beasts to the scent of blood.
  • Zhang Junbao escaped among the fighting beasts, hid in a small supermarket, and rested after the battle nearly exhausted him.

Ch. 43Lord-Level Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle

Zhang Junbao hid from the demonic beasts searching for him and discovered that their leader was a Lord-level Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle whose mate and child he had killed. After masking the scent of the egg and sword beaks in his backpack, he slipped through the buildings to seek an escape.

  • Zhang Junbao recovered in a secluded room while demonic beasts fought outside and reasoned that a Lord-level beast had sent them to find him.
  • A seven-colored Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle arrived, stopped the fighting with its cry, and swiftly killed two Beast Generals.
  • Zhang Junbao recognized the Lord-level beast as a Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle and suspected it was hunting him for killing its mate and child.
  • The Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle ordered its subordinates to search every corner, while Zhang Junbao used his Spiritual Force to conceal the egg and sword beaks in his backpack.
  • Zhang Junbao avoided the open sky and underground routes, then silently traveled downstairs on a cushion controlled by his Spiritual Force.

Ch. 44Disguise

Zhang Junbao evaded the demonic beasts by disguising himself inside a dead One-Horned Wild Boar and walking through their territory. As the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle drove the beasts into a frenzy, Zhang Junbao was nearing the edge of the horde but still had to escape.

  • Zhang Junbao hid beneath a reception desk while avoiding the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle and its searching beasts.
  • A One-Horned Wild Boar entered the lobby, lay down beside him, and fell asleep.
  • Zhang Junbao killed the boar with Spiritual Force, hollowed out its belly, and hid inside after disguising the wound with wire and excrement.
  • Zhang Junbao used Spiritual Force to control the boar’s body and passed the other demonic beasts without drawing suspicion.
  • Zhang Junbao traveled nearly ten kilometers toward safety before the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle roared and sent the demonic beasts into a violent frenzy.

Ch. 45A Narrow Escape from Death

Zhang Junbao escaped the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle after it discovered him carrying its mate’s sword-beak and its egg. He left the Eagle injured and trapped beneath a collapsing building, though it eventually broke free and lost his trail.

  • Zhang Junbao dodged a Junior Beast General One-Horned Wild Boar’s charge and wounded it with the body he controlled.
  • The Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle spotted Zhang Junbao inside the One-Horned Wild Boar and pursued him after recognizing its mate’s sword-beak and its egg.
  • Zhang Junbao fled through buildings, using Roaming Dragon Startled Swan Steps to evade the Eagle’s attacks.
  • Zhang Junbao used Tai Chi Force to make the Eagle’s sword-beak and tail feathers collide, then cut a load-bearing pillar and escaped as the building collapsed.
  • The Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle broke free from the rubble with both wings injured, but Zhang Junbao had disappeared.

Ch. 46The Fire Hammer Squad

After surviving the Sword-Beaked Dragon Eagle, Zhang Junbao traveled toward Yangzhou City and worried about his family, having been missing for more than ten days. He followed gunfire to a fight and saved Gao Feng from a Double-Headed Black-Line Snake, joining the endangered Fire Hammer Squad.

  • Zhang Junbao hid in a villa, tended to his injuries, and planned to travel after dark to avoid flying demonic beasts.
  • Zhang Junbao followed the highway toward Yangzhou City and wondered why he had not encountered any human warriors.
  • Zhang Junbao heard gunfire and rushed toward a squad fighting a powerful snake.
  • Zhang Junbao cut off half the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake's tongue just before it struck Gao Feng.
  • Gao Feng thanked Zhang Junbao and explained that the Fire Hammer Squad had encountered the snake while searching for opportunities.
  • The squad's twin brothers helped the badly injured Zhang Ke, whose broken spear had saved his life.

Ch. 47Killed

Zhang Junbao decided to fight the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake, a valuable High-Level Beast General, and Gao Feng agreed to help despite the danger. The rest of the Fire Hammer Squad stayed back to watch for other beasts as Zhang Junbao and Gao Feng approached the snake.

  • Gao Feng revealed that the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake was a High-Level Beast General close to Lord-level and urged the squad to retreat.
  • Zhang Junbao refused to flee and told Gao Feng to help him fight while the others kept watch.
  • Gao Feng agreed to repay Zhang Junbao for saving his life, while Wei Tie, Wei Qing, and Chen Gu were assigned to watch for nearby beasts.
  • Gao Feng explained the snake's potent venom and estimated that it could sell for 1.6 billion, but Zhang Junbao remained determined to fight it.
  • Gao Feng took Wei Tie's shield and joined Zhang Junbao as they advanced toward the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake.

Ch. 48Joining Forces

Zhang Junbao and Gao Feng joined forces against the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake, using their strength and knowledge of its weaknesses to injure it and disrupt its venom attack. The snake retaliated with a coordinated venom strike, and Gao Feng narrowly dodged the stream aimed at him.

  • The Double-Headed Black-Line Snake charged Zhang Junbao, but Zhang Junbao met its head-on with the Dragon Roar Sword and matched its force.
  • Zhang Junbao used his body and Spiritual Force to return the collision's power through the snake's scales, injuring its internal organs and making it spit blood.
  • Gao Feng attacked the snake's exposed lower jaw from its blind spot, interrupting its attempt to spray venom at Zhang Junbao.
  • Zhang Junbao and Gao Feng evaded the snake's repeated bites as it launched two streams of venom, one aimed at each man.
  • Gao Feng reacted too slowly to the venom aimed at him, but twisted his body at the last moment and narrowly avoided it.

Ch. 49The Kill

Zhang Junbao and Gao Feng defeated the High-Level Beast General Double-Headed Black-Line Snake, and Gao Feng broke through to become an Intermediate Warlord. After the battle, Zhang Junbao offered Gao Feng a venom sac as payment for a favor he wanted to ask.

  • Gao Feng dodged the snake's venom and broke through to Intermediate Warlord, but the poison gas began slowing his movements.
  • Zhang Junbao rescued Gao Feng and killed the snake's right head with a Spiritual Force-controlled silver spearhead while making it appear that his sword had dealt the fatal blow.
  • Zhang Junbao and Gao Feng coordinated to stun the snake's remaining head with Gao Feng's hammer, then Zhang Junbao killed it with the Dragon Roar Sword.
  • Zhang Junbao praised Gao Feng and suggested they split the snake's spoils, but Gao Feng asked only for a venom sac.
  • Zhang Junbao offered Gao Feng the venom sac as payment for a favor he wanted to ask.

Ch. 50Picking Up a Bargain?

Zhang Junbao and the Fire Hammer Squad faced three martial artists who tried to claim their Double-Headed Black-Line Snake, but the confrontation eased when the newcomers revealed they were searching for a missing rookie martial artist. The young man offered a reward for finding Zhang Junbao, unaware that Zhang Junbao was standing before him.

  • The Fire Hammer Squad refused to surrender the snake they had killed, and Zhang Junbao warned the newcomers that their hidden sniper was aiming at them.
  • Elder Liu revealed that he was a High-Level Warlord, but Zhang Junbao showed no fear and the squad took confidence from his strength.
  • Elder Liu persuaded the young man to abandon the dispute over the snake and focus on their search mission.
  • The young man asked whether anyone had seen a rookie martial artist carried into the Wilderness Zone by a flying demonic beast.
  • Gao Feng confirmed he knew of the search mission for the martial artist who had fought two Beast General-level beasts and been carried away after killing a Black-Crowned Golden Eagle.
  • The young man offered the Fire Hammer Squad the value of two snakes if they found and handed over Zhang Junbao, who realized they were searching for him.

Ch. 51I'm Worth a Lot
