Background / History

Early Cultivation and Captivity

Tian Meng accidentally entered an enormous, concealed Ten Thousand Year Mysterious Ice Cavern in the Far North. Its Profound Ice Marrow supplied the resources behind his extraordinary cultivation, which he accumulated largely while sleeping. He left the Far North before reaching a million years 5 18 45.

Di Tian and the other Ferocious Beasts later sealed him beneath the Lake of Life in the Star Dou Great Forest. His imprisonment lasted tens of thousands of years, during which they almost completely drained his vital essence. His Spiritual Origin survived, eventually reaching the million-year level and giving him the strength to attempt an escape 14 15 45.

Escape and Sacrifice

Lin Yi arrived just as Tian Meng was preparing to break free. By announcing his intentions and alerting the Ferocious Beasts, Lin Yi forced Tian Meng to escape prematurely. Tian Meng initially hated this interference, particularly when Lin Yi demanded that he sacrifice himself or die 15.

His attitude changed after seeing Lin Yi’s eight blood-red Soul Rings. Recognizing an exceptional candidate for his existing plan to nurture a god, Tian Meng supplied spiritual power to Lin Yi’s Spatial Teleportation. All eight rings shattered as the two escaped 15.

In a secluded valley, Tian Meng willingly performed a spiritual sacrifice, although he questioned whether the injured Lin Yi could withstand his ring. When Lin Yi’s body began collapsing under its pressure, Tian Meng sealed away the excess origin. The ensuing absorption healed Lin Yi’s injuries and reforged his meridians over three days and nights 16.

Strengthening the Evil Emperor’s Ring

Lin Yi subsequently proposed using Tian Meng’s sealed foundation to strengthen his Eighth Soul Ring, obtained from the Evil Emperor. Tian Meng objected to surrendering his own origin, but accepted after considering the value of helping create a second Million-Year Soul Ring 17 18.

Tian Meng supplied 700,000 years’ worth of foundation: enough to replace the Evil Emperor ring’s depleted reserves and raise it from 800,000 years to a million years. Lin Yi then replenished Tian Meng with Profound Ice Marrow, preserving the Ninth Soul Ring as a pure reserve rather than distributing its restored foundation among his other rings 17 18 19.

Recruiting the Snow Empress

In the Extreme North Core Circle, Lin Yi summoned Tian Meng to explain the Wisdom Soul Ring method and their plan to create a god. The Snow Empress recognized him but was astonished that he had reached a million years since leaving the Far North 45.

Tian Meng sincerely invited her to join, describing the arrangement as a partnership rather than servitude. He had originally intended the additional Martial Soul slot for the Ice Empress, but Lin Yi preferred a Snow Lady Martial Soul. The Snow Empress refused, prompting Lin Yi to threaten her with the consequences for the Ice Empress 46.

Appearance

• Physical form: A fat Ice Silkworm, first shown as an illusory figure within a white-gold pillar of light 14.
• Post-sacrifice manifestation: A gleaming white, illusory Ice Silkworm; later manifests through interwoven platinum-gold light 18 45.
• Soul Ring: Initially white-gold with ten golden ring patterns. After replenishment, its white and gold fuse into a distinct platinum-gold radiance 16 19.

Personality

Tian Meng is quick to resent coercion but equally quick to recognize an opportunity. Lin Yi’s interference initially enraged him, yet the sight of eight Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings immediately redirected his attention toward the possibility of creating a god. He still cautioned Lin Yi about the danger of absorbing his ring while injured 15 16.

He is protective of his own origin and conscious of saving face. Before agreeing to strengthen the Evil Emperor’s ring, he reframed the contribution as proof that even the Evil Emperor needed his help to reach a million years. He also recognizes the limitations of his own ring compared with the Evil Emperor’s 17 18.

His enthusiasm for Profound Ice Marrow is openly expressed: after manifesting beside Lin Yi, he eagerly devours it and remarks that he had previously been too busy sleeping to appreciate its taste 18.

Tian Meng’s principal strength is his preserved Spiritual Origin, rather than his depleted life essence 15 17.

• Releases stored foundation gradually to increase other Soul Rings’ ages 17.
• Provides a genuine million-year foundation despite the relatively limited initial benefits caused by his lost vital essence 17.

Profound Ice Marrow Conversion

After reaching a million years, Tian Meng can actively digest Ten-Thousand-Year Profound Ice Marrow instead of sleeping to absorb it 19.
