Chapters 26–38 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26Azure Luan Divine Bird

Tang Fan explained the Azure Luan Divine Bird’s mythological power and its connection to the Luan Bird Aerospace Carrier, then began introducing the Shadow Bearer Mecha as a famous sword. The chapter left Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo waiting to hear what Tang Fan would say about the sword.

  • Bibi Dong learned that she had been the last of the three gods to ascend, while Qian Renxue had become a god first, leaving Qian Daoliu, Qian Xunji, and Bo Saixi puzzled about how Tang San eventually won.
  • Tang Fan described the Azure Luan as an auspicious divine bird whose cries revived life and whose wings covered half the sky, and he compared it to the Luan Bird Aerospace Carrier.
  • Azure Luan Douluo objected that his Martial Soul was a powerful combat spirit, but Golden Crocodile Douluo reminded him that the Azure Luan was also the name of a weapon of mass destruction.
  • Tang Fan said the Luan Bird could serve as either a devastating weapon or a messenger of peace, and Golden Crocodile Douluo wondered what kind of deity the Queen Mother of the West was.
  • Bibi Dong chose to hear about the Shadow Bearer Mecha, and Tang Fan explained that the Shadow Bearer was a famous ancient sword; Bone Douluo teased Sword Douluo, who said Tang Fan could not understand swordsmanship better than he did.

Ch. 27Sword Douluo's Composure Shattered

Tang Fan criticized Sword Douluo Chen Xin’s understanding of the Seven Kill Sword and explained the meaning of the Seven Kills, causing Chen Xin to question his path. Tang Fan then showed Bibi Dong and the Douluo Continent sword masters from other works, leaving Chen Xin stunned by their skill as Dugu Qiubai’s sword Dao appeared.

  • Tang Fan said Chen Xin lacked a sword Dao of his own and had betrayed the Seven Kill Sword by becoming a guardian of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.
  • Tang Fan explained the Seven Kills as a drive to press forward, while Chen Xin recalled his father Chen Jianjun’s final challenge to Qian Daoliu and doubted his own path.
  • Tang Fan introduced Ximen Chuixue and Ye Gucheng, whose sword techniques left Chen Xin unable to see through them and Qian Daoliu impressed by their power.
  • Tang Fan showed Dugu Qiubai’s Nine Swords of Dugu, and a voice began explaining the realms of Dugu Qiubai’s sword Dao.

Ch. 28Fantasy's Floor Tile

The sky screen revealed Dugu Qiubai's sword teachings, exposing the limits of the Douluo Continent's swordsmen. Tang Fan then explained why the Douluo Continent was called fantasy's floor tile and began supporting that judgment by revealing Tang San's origins in another world.

  • The sky screen displayed Dugu Qiubai's Five Realms of the Sword and the complete Nine Swords of Dugu, but no Sword Martial Soul owner grasped even the latter's surface.
  • Sword Douluo Chen Xin despaired after realizing that his lifelong sword practice had only brought him to the Sharp Sword Realm.
  • Tang Fan described sword immortals to Bibi Dong and explained the distinction between wuxia, xianxia, and fantasy worlds.
  • Bibi Dong recognized that Tang Fan's theory about supernatural beings losing their powers in his world matched her own experience.
  • Tang Fan called the Douluo Continent fantasy's floor tile, provoking objections from Ling Yuan and Bibi Dong.
  • Tang Fan revealed that Tang San had stolen Tang Sect techniques in a wuxia world before dying and arriving in the Douluo Continent, with reincarnation and body seizure remaining competing explanations.

Ch. 29The Hidden Weapon That Pierced a God's Heart

Tang Fan revealed that Tang San had been a thief in his previous life and explained how he used a Hidden Weapon to defeat Qian Renxue after she became the Angel God. He then described Shadow Bearer and the other two swords of the Son of Heaven of Yin, leaving Bibi Dong with their names and legends.

  • Tang Fan said Tang San had stolen the Tang Sect’s secret techniques in his previous life, prompting Tang Hao, Tang Xiao, Ah Yin, Bo Saixi, and the Clear Sky Sect to react with alarm and distrust.
  • Tang Fan explained that Tang San had pierced Qian Renxue’s heart with Guanyin’s Tears after she became the Angel God, and said her godhood was later shattered and she disappeared.
  • Qian Daoliu agreed to lead Spirit Hall against the Clear Sky Sect if a child named Tang San was born there.
  • Tang Fan described Shadow Bearer as one of the three swords of the Son of Heaven of Yin, a beautiful weapon that represented refinement, elegance, and concealing one’s edge rather than slaughter.
  • Tang Fan named the other two swords Hanguang and Xiaolian and recited the legends associated with each.

Ch. 30Sword of the Commoner

Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong how Yan Lu used the Hanguang Sword to defeat Sheng Qi without killing him, then discussed the Xuanyuan Sword and humanity’s refusal to grant gods absolute authority. He left off describing Zhuangzi’s criticism of the sword of the commoner and its relevance to Soul Masters.

  • Tang Fan played a video of Yan Lu fighting Sheng Qi, and Yan Lu used Hanguang’s sword images and evasive technique to avoid being struck while carving the character for benevolence beneath Sheng Qi.
  • Sword Douluo realized that Yan Lu’s nonlethal swordsmanship surpassed his own understanding, while Bibi Dong focused on Yan Lu’s appearance.
  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong that the Xuanyuan Sword represented his civilization and that people had never granted gods absolute authority over humanity.
  • Bo Saixi condemned Tang Fan’s words as heretical and ordered Sea God Island’s followers not to discuss them.
  • Tang Fan recited Zhuangzi’s description of the sword of the commoner and argued that it could apply to most Soul Masters on Douluo Continent.

Ch. 31The Sword of the Feudal Lords and the Sword of the Son of Heaven

Tang Fan explained the sword of the feudal lords and the sword of the Son of Heaven to Bibi Dong, while rulers and Soul Masters across the Douluo Continent considered their meaning. He then led Bibi Dong outside and showed her a place that brought her imagined continent-sized sword into view.

  • Tang Fan explained that the sword of the feudal lords represented a country whose people worked together, and the Star Luo Emperor and Xue Ye reflected on why their empires could not forge one.
  • Tang Fan described the sword of the Son of Heaven as encompassing all under heaven, and Bibi Dong imagined the Douluo Continent itself formed into a giant sword.
  • Soul Masters and Qian Daoliu wondered who could wield such a sword, while Tang Fan said it did not need to be wielded once forged.
  • Tang Fan led Bibi Dong from the exhibition hall to a spot in the square and positioned her hand as if she were holding a sword.
  • Bibi Dong looked where Tang Fan pointed and stared in amazement.

Ch. 32Elementary School Let Out

Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong a modern elementary school so she could see how compulsory education worked. As pupils poured out at dismissal, a child recognized her as the villainous Pope from Douluo Continent, leaving Bibi Dong to face how people there viewed her.

  • Sword Douluo realized the meaning of the sword-shaped spire but admitted he could not embody its ideal, while Tang Fan explained to Bibi Dong that the army should protect ordinary people.
  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong about modern schools and planned visits to an elementary school, a high school, and a university.
  • Tang Fan drove Bibi Dong to an elementary school, bought her snacks, and explained that parents and grandparents had gathered to collect their children.
  • Pupils poured out through the school gates, and Tang Fan used the crowd to show Bibi Dong that modern society made schooling accessible to everyone.
  • A child recognized Bibi Dong as a cosplayer and called her the villainous Pope, and Tang Fan told her not to take the child's simple judgment to heart.

Ch. 33A Comparison of Education

Tang Fan and Bibi Dong compared modern schooling with education on the Douluo Continent, exposing the continent’s exclusionary and competitive academy system. Bibi Dong doubted reform would be impossible, and Tang Fan offered to explain how his people had built their education system over dumplings.

  • Tang Fan led Bibi Dong away from the school gates after children gathered to take photos with her.
  • Qian Daoliu asked Qian Xunji whether Spirit City’s children could all attend school, but they struggled to see how to educate children without Innate Soul Power.
  • Bibi Dong described Spirit Hall Academy as sparsely populated and fiercely competitive, where students formed self-interested groups and she became isolated.
  • Tang Fan criticized the Douluo Continent’s academies for neglecting moral education and explained that fragmented authority made broad reforms difficult.
  • Bibi Dong said she believed she could reform the academies, and Tang Fan invited her to eat dumplings while he told her about his people’s history.

Ch. 34The Road That Brought Us Here

Tang Fan explained to Bibi Dong how rebellion, world wars, and foreign invasion shaped his world's struggle toward universal schooling, showing her images of the brutal conflicts. The chapter left Bibi Dong and viewers across the Douluo Continent horrified by the atrocities, while Qian Daoliu ordered an investigation for similar heresies at home.

  • At the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Ning Fengzhi and Bone Douluo discussed the destruction that might be required to change Douluo Continent's education system.
  • Tang Fan took Bibi Dong to a dumpling restaurant and explained that a popular uprising had begun after the emperor's failures and the common people's suffering.
  • Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong footage of the rebellion, its defeat, the empire's overthrow, and the brutal world war that followed.
  • Tang Fan explained that new nobles continued oppressing the common people and that a foreign invasion brought widespread massacres and human experiments.

Ch. 35A Foundation Built on Sacrifice

Tang Fan explained to Bibi Dong how commoners defeated oppressive nobles, suppressed bandits, and fought a coalition of seventeen countries, while Spirit Hall honored its past service to ordinary people. The chapter ended with Tang Fan saying those struggles laid the foundation for everyone to attend school.

  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong that the people had defeated the beastly country through their predecessors’ sacrifices, then continued fighting until commoners overcame the nobles and won their freedom.
  • Tang Fan described a campaign against bandits and praised Spirit Hall for freely awakening children’s Martial Souls and hunting down the fallen; Bibi Dong promised to tell her Teacher.
  • Qian Daoliu told Qian Xunji to compile the fallen’s deeds into a book and erect a monument bearing their names, and Qian Xunji agreed to handle it personally.
  • Tang Fan said seventeen countries had formed a coalition against his nation, whose soldiers defeated them and became known as the most lovable people.
  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong that victory in that war had laid the foundation for everyone to go to school.

Ch. 36The Warm Sun

Tang Fan explained how mass literacy and education helped his world resist the rise of a new nobility, while Bibi Dong wondered whether she could transform the Douluo Continent. A red banknote triggered a vision that crippled Clear Sky Sect members who challenged it, and Tang Fan then offered to show Bibi Dong high school evening self-study.

  • Bibi Dong asked whether becoming a god would let her reshape the Douluo Continent, and Tang Fan warned that the Divine Realm’s limits and the rise of a new nobility would defeat her efforts.
  • Tang Fan said education, oversight, and their leader’s willingness to punish even celebrated officials had helped his world break the cycle of exploitation.
  • Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong a red banknote, and its image appeared across the Douluo Continent as a warm sun that terrified corrupt nobles and drained their Soul Power.
  • Clear Sky Sect members attacked the sky screen with hammers, and the sun melted their Soul Power and Martial Souls, leaving them crippled.
  • Tang Fan put the banknote away, ending the phenomenon, then offered to take Bibi Dong to see high school evening self-study.

Ch. 37Martial Soul Awakening and the College Entrance Exam

Tang Fan explained modern cultivation, education, and foreign society to Bibi Dong as they left a restaurant and passed a high school. He showed her images of wealthy neighborhoods and homeless people abroad, leaving her shocked by the poverty and exploitation hidden behind those countries’ reputation as developed nations.

  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong that cultivation could supposedly replace eating or sleeping, and promised to show her a copy of the Tao Te Ching when they returned home.
  • Qian Xunji and other Douluo Continent factions hoped the sky screen would reveal the Tao Te Ching after Tang Fan mentioned it.
  • Tang Fan took Bibi Dong past a high school and compared the college entrance exam to Martial Soul Awakening, explaining that students could improve their scores through study.
  • Tang Fan described efforts to address excessive educational competition, then explained his view that foreign countries tried to corrupt education and make people forget history.
  • Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong pictures of wealthy neighborhoods abroad and compared their residents to Douluo Continent’s nobles.
  • Tang Fan showed Bibi Dong censored pictures of homeless people abroad, and she was shocked that a supposedly developed country had conditions worse than those on the Douluo Continent.

Ch. 38Forbidden Love

Tang Fan discussed Tang Yuehua’s reputation and the theory that she loved her brother Tang Hao, causing public embarrassment and distress for the Tang family. He then told Bibi Dong about Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong’s relationship, ending just before he revealed what happened after they learned they were cousins.

  • Tang Fan explained that Tang Yuehua ran Moonlight Pavilion, where noble etiquette could help nobles conceal their wrongdoing.
  • Tang Fan told Bibi Dong that one theory claimed Tang Yuehua had fallen in love with her brother, Tang Hao, and the revelation shocked Tang Yuehua and the Clear Sky Sect.
  • Tang Wei collapsed after hearing the rumor, while Tang Hao’s older brother ordered him to return to the sect instead of searching for Ah Yin.
  • Tang Fan took Bibi Dong to a drone light show and explained how Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong, and Flender formed the Golden Sacred Dragon martial soul fusion skill.
  • Tang Fan revealed that Liu Erlong was Yu Xiaogang’s cousin and asked Bibi Dong to guess what happened after Yu Luomian exposed their kinship on their wedding night.
