Dai Lingfeng is calculating, opportunistic, and outwardly deferential to powerful patrons. He privately disdains Dai Mubai and Tang San while presenting himself as an obedient descendant. Rather than valuing divine inheritance solely as a path to godhood, he initially treats it as leverage for attracting resources, securing protection, and intimidating others 4 5 6.

His estrangement from Huo Yun’er and Huo Yuhao begins under divine pressure, but his motives are not purely self-sacrificing. He wants to avoid becoming another target of Tang San’s manipulation, negotiates compensation for playing the villain, and eventually welcomes opportunities to torment Huo Yuhao under that arrangement 5 10 11 36 37.

History

Return to the White Tiger Lineage

A transmigrator initially known as Huo Lingfeng, he grows up in hardship with Huo Yun’er and Huo Yuhao at the Duke’s Mansion. Once able to leave, he seeks recognition at the White Tiger ancestral hall. The revelation of his White Tiger and Hell Spirit Cat Twin Martial Souls immediately wins the clan leadership’s support 2 7.

Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing select him for their divine inheritances. Dai Mubai privately orders him not to help his mother or younger brother and instead to hurt them without killing them, preserving Tang San’s intended hardships for Huo Yuhao. Dai Lingfeng complies and publicly distances himself from both 4 5 7 10.

His new status nevertheless initially improves their treatment: servants avoid offending them, former tormentors apologize, and their food and allowance improve. Meanwhile, Dai Lingfeng becomes registered as the duchess’s son and the mansion’s third legitimate son 21.

Divine Trials and Engagement

Dai Lingfeng develops his self-fusion and undertakes divine examinations. For a trial requiring him to hunt a Thousand-Year Soul Beast, the patriarch selects a Soft Bone Rabbit suited to his stealth abilities. Tang Hao subsequently approaches him and becomes his master 14 16 19 20.

The family arranges his engagement to Princess Xu Jiujiu. At the banquet, Huo Yuhao publicly accuses him of causing Huo Yun’er’s death. Although Dai Lingfeng privately states that he did not do it, he accepts responsibility after negotiating divine compensation. After five years of training, Dai Lingfeng enters Shrek as an eleven-year-old, level-49 Soul Ancestor and becomes Class Seven’s monitor. He obtains Electrolux as his first Chang Ghost, receives Huo Yun’er’s soul, and kills Dai Huabin before binding him as another servant 40 41 44 45 46.

Defection to Star Luo

During Shrek’s operation against Evil Soul Masters, Dai Lingfeng proves exceptionally efficient at killing the enemies. After the mission’s losses, he creates additional ghost minions and travels with the surviving tournament team to Star Luo City 77 78.

He then abandons Shrek for Star Luo Royal Academy and persuades Dai Yueheng to accompany him, declaring that the championship belongs to the Star Luo Empire.
