This is a chapter to get your blood pumping.
From a distance, Sun Fei had seen the whole heroic scene of white-haired Pierce risking his life to destroy the siege ladder. His blood had boiled, and at the critical moment, he had finally saved Pierce's life by throwing a living person in that outrageous fashion.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
The great axe became a streak of dark light, carrying terrifying force.
Wherever it passed, the black-armored soldiers were cut down like rice, cleared away in an instant.
"Well done, warrior! I'm Brook, a company commander in the king's guard. Who are you? I don't think I've seen you before..." In the distance, Brook, a burly, black-haired man struggling against an opponent with a two-handed broadsword, saw that Pierce had been saved and shouted in delighted surprise.
The sudden arrival of a savior broke the delicate balance on the battlefield.
Hope had quietly come to Chambord City.
"Captain Brook? Haha, you'll find out who I am soon enough!"
Sun Qinshou smugly kept him in suspense.
Sun Fei had long since grown accustomed to slaughter and blood in Diablo's world. The shouting, weeping, and screams were no different from the sounds the monsters in Diablo World made when they fell, so he felt no discomfort whatsoever when he joined the battle.
Quite the opposite, in fact. The scene before him made Sun Fei's blood boil.
Everyone, even the humblest beggar, had once dreamed in their youth of becoming a hero and defending their home and country. Sun Fei was now living out his childhood dream of being a hero, so although the great axe in his hands ruthlessly harvested lives like the Grim Reaper's scythe, he felt not the slightest guilt over killing.
He killed to save lives.
On the battlefield, it was that simple.
He escorted several soldiers as they carried Pierce down from the wall, then turned back and charged into the enemy ranks.
With a level-five barbarian's exquisite axe skills and ferocious strength, Sun Fei had no equal among these ordinary soldiers. Wherever he went, wails and screams filled the air, and he soon reached the last siege ladder.
His great axe howled through the air, trailing a bloodthirsty dark gleam.
Amid screams, Sun Fei swept his axe across the last few black-armored soldiers desperately guarding the siege ladder, sending them flying high off the wall. They wailed as they fell far below...
The axe's momentum had not yet faded.
Boom!
The back of the axe struck a battlement.
Dust flew and sparks scattered.
The thirty-centimeter-thick stone battlement cracked apart. Great rocks hurtled down from the top of the wall, and dust billowed up in an instant, as though the mountains were collapsing and the earth splitting.
The enormous siege ladder, which had been hooked onto the battlement, was smashed outward by the terrifying force of that blow. With enemy soldiers still climbing it, it spun a full three hundred and sixty degrees in the air before crashing into the Zuli River more than a hundred meters away, completely destroyed!
Heaven-shaking divine strength!
Both sides fighting to the death on the wall were shaken once again!
Encouraged by the new arrival's wild display, Chambord City's defending royal guards felt their courage and morale soar, while the attacking black-armored soldiers were terrified by the fearsome power of those successive axe blows.
And Sun Fei, that fool, happened to love showing off and acting cool.
His next action and words took the effect of individual heroism on the battlefield to an incredible extreme-
"Soldiers of the king, fight! For our homes, for our elderly fathers and mothers, for our wives and children!"
After landing his blow, the fool raised his axe high, like a demon god descended from heaven. In the setting sun, that figure reflecting golden light was an invincible deity.
With that, Sun Fei suddenly threw back his head and roared.
As his roar rang out, a sudden change occurred-
A mysterious, uncanny, invisible force burst from Sun Fei's roar and swept outward like raging waves.
Soon, something incredible happened-
Every black-clad soldier within five meters of Sun Fei suddenly threw down his weapon and clutched his head, screaming as though he had seen something unimaginably terrifying. Scared out of their wits, they turned and fled...
Several were so desperate to escape that they stumbled straight off the wall, more than sixty meters high!
The barbarian's shout skill-[Howl].
A single shout sent the surrounding enemies fleeing in all directions in terror.
The wondrous power of Diablo had finally descended upon this world.
Of course, only Sun Fei himself knew that.
Everyone else stared, dumbfounded.
What kind of power was this?
The power of a god?
The wall fell silent.
On the wall, beneath the setting sun.
Everyone could feel it: something unstoppable was about to burst roaring from its cocoon in the hearts of Chambord City's defenders!
The next moment.
At last-
No one knew who it was, but someone followed Sun Fei's lead and murmured unconsciously, "Fight, for our homes, for our elderly parents!"
That faint echo was like a spark falling into gasoline.
In an instant, the blood of the warriors defending their home on Chambord City's walls finally began to boil uncontrollably, blazing like an everlasting flame.
"Fight!!"
"Fight! For our..."
"Fight! Fight!! Fight! Fight!!!"
Wave after wave of roars carried a heart-shaking power. Like the most incredible magic in the world, they were wonderfully contagious, spreading swiftly across the battlefield.
Soon, nearly every Chambord City soldier on the wall was roaring.
Morale soared!
A soldier with an arrow in his shoulder pulled out the bloody, barbed shaft. A farmer who had fallen and was howling from a thigh wound climbed to his feet, eyes red, and bit into an enemy's thigh. An old man with a sword through his heart used the last shred of his strength to drive the woodcutter's knife in his hand into an enemy's skull...
An unprecedented power had descended at that moment because of that man's roar toward the heavens.
The advantage began to swing inexorably toward the defenders.
Without siege ladders to bring them reinforcements, the black-armored soldiers on the wall were trapped like turtles in a jar, with no way to retreat. Amid the flashes of blades, some were already scared out of their wits. They shrieked, turned, and fled, jumping off the wall...
They would rather jump from the wall, where they might have a slim chance of survival.
If they stayed on the wall and faced these opponents who had suddenly gone mad as though pumped full of stimulants, they would surely die-and might meet a fate even crueler than death. One black-armored soldier was bitten to death, one mouthful at a time, by several wounded soldiers!
That was war.
That was a hero!
An expert might be able to slay countless enemies, but there was a kind of person called a hero, born with the ability to sway people's hearts. Every action, every word, and every look could give their companions hope and bring them courage!
And Sun Fei had just done all of that, unintentionally, while showing off!
After his roar, Sun Fei's great axe resumed harvesting the lives of the black-armored soldiers. Broken swords and sabers, shattered armor, and crushed helmets flew through the air... Wherever Sun Fei went, enemies screamed and blood ran!
He killed a man every ten steps and left no trace for a thousand miles.
With an unstoppable air, Sun Fei soon charged beneath the gate tower at the wall's main gate.
There, the burly, black-haired Brook was struggling against a black-clad man wielding a knight's rapier. The man was clearly much like the dark figure Sun Fei had cleaved in two with a single "monkey steals the peach" move earlier. Both his martial skills and his weapon were very similar to the dark figure's. Points of cold light flashed from his rapier as it nimbly tangled with Brook's two-handed greatsword.
"I'll take him out. Go command the soldiers and wipe out the remaining enemies on the wall!"
Sun Fei thrust his black great axe between the two men and flicked his wrist, striking the black-clad man's rapier precisely and forcing it aside. Then he turned and shouted to the company commander of the king's guard.
"Careful, warrior! This son of a bitch's swordsmanship is strange!"
As a company commander in the king's guard, Brook was a man with real authority in Chambord City. But faced with this "metal freak" of unknown origin, whose face was concealed by a faceplate, Brook obeyed his instructions without hesitation, moved by the wondrous and heroic scenes he had just witnessed.
Brook turned to command his subordinates.
Strange, why does that armor look a little familiar? It's like I've seen it somewhere before... Brook muttered to himself as he turned.
Meanwhile, Sun Fei stepped in front of the black-clad man, blocking his path.
"Were you the one who killed Twenty?"
The black-clad man's expression was grave. He concentrated, circulating the Dou Qi inside him at high speed.
He too had seen Sun Fei's stunning axe blow cleave the dark figure Twenty in two. Knowing his own strength was inferior to the dark figure's, he dared not let his guard down in the slightest against Sun Fei.
I can't match strength with this brute!
The black-clad man made up his mind.
Sword light burst from the blade in his hand. Relying on his agility and deft swordsmanship, he began to move erratically, plainly intending to keep Sun Fei occupied and wait for an opening to deliver a killing blow.
Sun Fei soon saw what the black-clad man intended.
The bastard chuckled, his face full of disdain.
In Diablo's world, this black-clad man's strength was probably about the same as a [Fallen]-the little demons that held a knife in one hand and a torch in the other. They were agile monsters, cunning and cruel by nature, but also cowardly, turning and fleeing the moment they could not win. Their knife skills were actually quite good too, making them much like the black-clad man before him.
But after reaching level five, Sun Fei had a very simple way of dealing with monsters like that: a single, straightforward axe blow was enough to chop them dead.
So anyone hoping to threaten Sun Fei with hit-and-run tactics was dreaming.
Before absolute strength, no maneuver could remain hidden.
What was a barbarian?
There was only one answer-a close-combat expert!!
In both strength and mastery of weapons, barbarians were among the finest melee characters in Diablo. If a barbarian could be defeated by hit-and-run tactics of this level, Sun Fei might already have died who knew how many times in Diablo's world.
Clang!
With just one casual axe blow, the black-clad man spat blood and fell back in defeat.
That makes three updates and ten thousand characters today.
Brothers, Daozi is giving it his all. Please give me strength.
This chapter's blood is burning. Let's make our "Hail the King" burn too.
