As they spoke, the two traveled another five hundred miles.
At this moment, the monotonous scenery finally changed, and some extremely strange buildings appeared in front of us.
From a distance, it slowly rises, gradually increasing in elevation, resembling a castle, mountains, or a plateau fault, abruptly standing on the green, semi-dried liquid ground, stretching endlessly to the horizon, like a ladder, with an ever-increasing tendency to rise.
At the very beginning, there are some dark, honeycomb-like entrances.
Large numbers of goblins, their bodies covered in green liquid, gushed out of these entrances like a raging flood.
"This seems to be the birthplace of the goblins."
The two chose a Big Black entrance and entered through the passageway.
Inside is a circular passageway, about ten meters in diameter. The walls are made of some kind of unidentified Rock, pitted and uneven, with a color like cement casting, and covered with some irregular, thread-like stripes.
Amidst a tidal wave of roars and howls, a large number of green goblins, their bodies covered in black, gripped the rock walls with sharp claws and surged outwards like geckos.
As you go deeper, the passageway becomes wider and wider, with frequent forks in the road and two adjacent passageways merging into one.
The feeling was like entering a maze carved out by an underground river.
They could sense the aura left by the earth spirit along the way, so Sun Fei and the Valkyrie didn't get lost in the labyrinthine passageway and moved forward at an extremely fast speed.
As time passed, the passageway ahead grew wider and wider, eventually exceeding several thousand meters in diameter. It was incredibly spacious, almost like an underground palace.
"Can you feel it? The power of the laws here is starting to weaken, and the elemental activity has also greatly decreased." The Valkyrie frowned, noticing something was wrong.
Sun Fei nodded. "Yes, there's some kind of barrier here. Be careful; the deeper you go, the stronger the suppressive force becomes, and your strength and cultivation level will decrease."
This is a strange place.
Anyone who comes here will have their strength suppressed, and the stronger the suppression, the more likely it is that one could drop a level in a short period of time. What's even stranger is that this pressure seems to be naturally formed, not created through engraved magic arrays or other artificial means.
This is a strange and dangerous location.
"Look, what's that?" The Valkyrie suddenly discovered a scene that shocked her.
"I've seen it, it seems to be... Holy crap, could it be some kind of incubation device?" Sun Fei uttered a word he was familiar with from his previous life, because the scene before him had shocked even His Majesty the Emperor.
Ahead, the already incredibly wide passageway opened up into an even wider space.
This space is probably hundreds of thousands of meters in diameter.
Within this space, towering green trees rise from the ground, their sturdy trunks requiring at least ten people to encircle them. The branches and leaves, oozing a green liquid, rustle and sway incessantly without wind. The trunks are covered with tubes as thick as a wrist, which seem to be alive and pulsate with a strange rhythm. Visible to the naked eye, a bulging mass is being transported through these tubes.
These strange, large trees are densely packed in this space, almost forming a sizable forest.
Of course, this isn't the most shocking part.
Most shockingly, hanging from the branches of these giant trees are large green nodules, about a meter long, resembling both silkworm cocoons and fruits. The contents of those tubes are being continuously transported into these green 'fruits,' and it is vaguely visible that some kind of life form is developing inside.
The answer will be revealed soon.
The two clearly saw green 'fruits' tear open from within, and goblins covered in green liquid stumbled out, roaring a few times before quickly adapting to the outside environment. Then, under the control of some mysterious force, they followed the tunnel outwards.
Newly born goblins are extremely weak.
But in less than ten minutes, they quickly become incredibly agile, possess sharp claws and teeth, and transform into killing monsters.
"So this is how goblins are born." Sun Fei exclaimed in astonishment. "No wonder they can reproduce so quickly. I tried to search their memories with my Spiritual Power techniques before, but I couldn't get any useful information. Their memories after they were born must have been erased by the suppressive power of the barrier of this mysterious place."
The 'green fruit' from which the goblins were born quickly shrank and fell completely from the branch, landing at the tree roots. There, it slowly melted and returned to the liquid below, where it was then transported out through the green pipes. A new green cocoon would then form on the giant tree, vibrating and growing larger like a heart, hatching new goblins.
The whole process only took three or four minutes.
Based on this calculation, this enormous space is constantly generating new goblins every moment, and its incubation capacity is simply astonishing.
Is this the origin of the goblins' mastery of sheer numbers?
Sun Fei pointed out with his finger.
A half-hatched 'green fruit' was silently split open from the side.
Green liquid flowed from within, enveloping a goblin fetus. A tube connected to the scrotum continuously supplied the green liquid, nourishing the still-developing goblin fetus, which had already begun to take shape as the prototype of this murderous wretch.
"Is it an incubation machine? Or a masterpiece of nature?"
Almost instinctively, Sun Fei connected the scene before him with the science fiction horror movie [ Resident Evil ] from his previous life. This place was like a huge biochemical factory, continuously producing green biochemical zombies.
Is the emergence of these goblins a natural phenomenon, or is someone manipulating everything behind the scenes?
Sun Fei unleashed a hidden power that swept out like a tidal wave, instantly crushing everything in this vast space into dust. Green trees, green fruits, goblins... all turned into a wisp of smoke.
However, along with the other passageways in the space, a continuous tide of goblins surged toward the outside world.
"Keep going."
Sun Fei abandoned his urge to completely destroy everything here and kill all the goblins, and continued forward along the tunnel.
The important matter comes first.
It's hard to imagine how much time and effort it took to build such a massive underground structure; if it was formed naturally, it's hard to believe.
Along the way, the two saw again thousands of huge green tree spaces on the city wall, just like before, with green fruits hanging on the giant trees, continuously producing goblins.
Another hour passed.
Sun Fei and the Valkyrie witnessed an even more astonishing scene.
