After raising all his attributes to 50 points, Xu Long had 24,659 points left.
After giving it a little thought, he decided to get the Red Queen a body.
He meant nothing else by it; he simply didn't want her to be lonely inside the hard drive.
"Redeem a photonic quantum computer system! Redeem miniature engineering robots!"
[Warning: the photonic quantum computer system far exceeds the technological level of this world! There is a very high probability that it will have a tremendous impact on this world!] [According to the rules, this item may not be taken out of the Reincarnation Temple!] [Conscript authority detected. This rule has been waived!]
"Good grief, that's some high-level authority!"
Xu Long marveled inwardly. This had gone beyond a transmigrator's perks-he was practically a GM!
Looking at the pile of instruments and equipment that had appeared out of thin air before him, Xu Long plugged the Red Queen's motherboard into it.
"Wow, bigger and faster! It's hundreds of times more powerful than before!"
The Red Queen's voice came through the speakers. Compared with the equipment she had used at the Umbrella Corporation, this photonic quantum computer system was clearly much more powerful.
"Get familiar with this equipment as quickly as you can, and those robots too. I need you to be combat-ready within a month."
Xu Long spoke up. He had a rough plan in mind: to use the Red Queen's power as an artificial intelligence in battle.
Entering some mission worlds alone was far too dangerous. Xu Long needed subordinates, and he needed cannon fodder too.
Take Resident Evil 1, for example. If he'd had a bunch of robots, there would have been no need for caution. He could have simply steamrolled his way through.
"I'm already familiar with them. I need some key materials that can only be redeemed from the Main God."
The Red Queen spoke.
"Then redeem them!"
Xu Long waved his hand with great generosity. After redeeming the photonic quantum computer system and miniature engineering robots, he still had nearly 20,000 points.
Money's no object! Spend away!
But less than ten seconds later, Xu Long regretted it.
Looking at the pile of metal materials before him, then at the mere fifty points he had left, Xu Long regretted it so much his guts turned green.
What a spendthrift woman! She spends far too much!
No, a spendthrift robot!
"This is already the pared-down version. If you want to lay a solid foundation in one go, we'll need at least another 500,000 points."
The Red Queen's voice came through, making Xu Long's liver tremble.
But when he saw the plan the Red Queen had drawn up, he couldn't help getting excited again.
The first stage alone included liquid metal robots, and the second even introduced a war base.
Xu Long didn't dare read any further. He didn't need to think to know that spaceships and planet-destroying weapons were bound to come later.
The Red Queen had really drawn him one enormous pie!
According to the Red Queen's vision, the monsters pouring out from underground were nothing to worry about.
He could send an army of robots over to crush them outright. In time, even Earth would be unable to hold him back; it would merely be a springboard toward the vast universe.
But this grand plan was clearly a little more than Xu Long's wallet could bear. In other words, it was a pain in the balls.
After taking a closer look, Xu Long found that only the first stage's liquid metal robots were reasonably feasible. Everything else was yanking his balls for all it was worth.
Xu Long put the photonic quantum computer system and miniature engineering robots into his storage space, then chose to return home.
Once students came out of their first mission world, the school no longer required them to attend.
For one thing, large numbers of people died in every mission world, and a crowd of weeping students was hard to manage.
For another, gaining power inevitably made people conceited, and fights broke out too often to count.
The school couldn't be bothered to deal with it all, so it simply had the students report in once a month.
After three months, those still alive would go to the battlefield in the fallen zone.
The fallen-zone battlefield was brutally cruel, a place of ceaseless killing.
Only those who had truly experienced life and death could survive in a place like that.
In a secluded residential complex in Minghu City, Xu Long appeared out of thin air.
"Man, I was all alone in my last life, and it's the damn same this time around!"
Xu Long lay on the couch and sighed silently.
In his previous life, both his parents had died, and he had grown up alone, suffering every hardship. In this life, both his parents were alive and he even had an older sister, but things were hardly any better than before.
His parents were researchers, and he saw them only a few times a year.
His sister was fighting in the fallen zone, so he could only go find her himself in two months.
"Ding, ding, ding, ding!"
The moment he turned on his phone, a string of notifications rang out.
Xu Long checked and saw that his classmates were discussing this mission in the class group chat.
You can do it like that?
After browsing the chat history, Xu Long was genuinely stunned.
The main mission in the Spider-Man world was simple: survive ten days.
Brother Shui had said he was experienced, and he really was exceptionally experienced.
He had sent some of the students to work at an illegal factory, while a few of the stronger ones went to fight in underground boxing matches.
Although the students were all thinking, What the fuck?, they hadn't lost a single person. The few who fought in the underground matches had even earned an extra 200 points.
"Brother Shui is fucking amazing! I never would've imagined you could do that!"
Xu Long marveled inwardly. If it had been a world with a Chinese setting, they probably would have been sold off to work in an illegal coal mine.
"Hey, how's Xu Long doing? Wonder if he's still alive!"
One of their classmates suddenly spoke up, immediately attracting everyone's attention.
"The death rate in the Resident Evil 1 world is as high as ninety-nine percent. He's a newbie, so he's definitely dead."
"Not necessarily. Maybe he got lucky!"
"Oh, right, the Resident Evil 1 world closed. Think it could've been Xu Long? Hehehe, I can't take it, I've cracked myself up..."
"Sigh, what a bunch of poor wretches!"
Xu Long sighed and silently closed the group chat.
But before long, a ringtone broke the quiet.
Xu Long checked his phone. It was his sister, Xu Jiao.
"That's my little brother for you! You've got one tough mutt's life, making it out alive from a place like Resident Evil!"
Xu Jiao had a lovely voice, but what she said was anything but lovely.
"Can't you say something nice? Your own little brother nearly died! Do you know how scary those zombies were? They bit anyone they caught! And there were Lickers-whoosh, and they shot right through people. And Zombie Dogs, more than a dozen of them, chasing me until my pants fell down."
Xu Long embellished the story, making his earlier predicament sound like he'd called to heaven and earth for help and gotten no answer. He might as well have had the word "miserable" written across his face.
"All right, all right, as long as you're alive!"
Xu Jiao sighed, then said, "I know you don't want to be ordinary, but you need to think about your parents and your sister too. Don't be so reckless next time. Go to the Spider-Man or Hokage Ninja world, and whatever you do, don't go to the newly released Kung Fu Hustle."
"I understand. I definitely won't be too reckless."
Xu Long acknowledged her, though inwardly he paid it no mind.
Of the three E-Rank Worlds, Kung Fu Hustle was precisely the best one for him.
Aside from a few martial arts masters, everyone else relied on conventional power.
Even the Axe Gang, which controlled all of Shanghu, had only a few lousy guns besides their signature axes.
People like the Landlord and his wife and The Beast were surely no weaker than Kage-level powerhouses in Hokage Ninja, but there were far too few other powerhouses, making it comparatively much safer.
Of course, Xu Long had chosen Kung Fu Hustle mainly to explore the plot and find various items. The Hokage Ninja world was a bit chaotic, making it unsuitable to visit right now.
"Good, as long as you understand! We'll talk when there's time. The monsters have started attacking again."
Xu Jiao hung up immediately, leaving Xu Long feeling helpless.
"Forget it. We'll talk when I get to the fallen zone."
Xu Long sighed, then lay down on the couch.
Since he didn't have to go to school, Xu Long stayed home practicing the use of his telekinesis.
The Red Queen, meanwhile, immediately hacked into this world's networks and began making purchases in bulk.
First, she used currency redeemed from the Main God to buy a factory on the verge of bankruptcy, then used the miniature engineering robots to modify it.
Relying on power that utterly surpassed this era, the Red Queen quickly completed her initial plan for the factory.
On the twentieth day, the first liquid metal robot successfully rolled off the production line.
This kind of robot was very troublesome to manufacture and relatively expensive, so the Red Queen made only two.
She used one herself and kept the other in storage as a spare.
"By the way, did you do that on purpose?"
Looking at the Red Queen's petite yet alluring figure, Xu Long felt as though his inner thoughts had been laid bare.
"Change your appearance. You'll make people misunderstand if you look like that. Oh, right, what identity did the Main God arrange for you?"
Xu Long sipped his tea as he appraised the Red Queen.
The Red Queen looked exactly like Airi Akizuki, sweet and adorable.
But Xu Long was single-mindedly focused on developing his strength. He had no time to concern himself with women, much less a robot.
