Early the next morning, Qian Renxue was the first to get up and leave.
She had accomplished her purpose on this trip, so there was no need to stay any longer. Besides, Qian Daoliu's letter had said that Gu Wuchen would not be going to Spirit Hall this time, but to Heaven Dou City instead, and had asked her to look after him.
After meeting him yesterday, he was convinced of his talent. Look after him? She would certainly look after him.
If necessary, she would reveal her true self and take Gu Wuchen down a peg.
She wanted to enjoy herself too, to show off in front of this fellow.
After Qian Renxue left.
Gu Wuchen finished breakfast and prepared to set off immediately. Shen Suwei had already handed the food she had prepared to Ye Yuan'er.
"Bishop Ye, sorry to trouble you with looking after Wuchen from here on."
Shen Suwei gave her instructions.
"Rest assured, Madam Gu. I'll be responsible for the young master's safety," Ye Yuan'er promised.
Outside the Gu Clan's residence, Gu Wuchen sat in the carriage and called out, "Bishop Ye, let's go! And Mother, stop fussing. I'll still come back when it's time to hunt Martial Souls."
After giving a few more instructions, Shen Suwei let Ye Yuan'er board the carriage.
The carriage set off and slowly made its way out of Ice Arrival City.
"You're always in such a hurry to leave. It'd be fine if you brought a daughter-in-law back with you one day."
Heaven Dou City
In less than half a day, the carriage rolled into Heaven Dou City. Following Shen Suwei's directions, Ye Yuan'er arrived at a residence in the south of the city.
"Young master, you can get out now. Before you came, Madam Gu had the person in charge in Heaven Dou City buy this residence for you to cultivate and rest in."
Ye Yuan'er brought the carriage to a stop.
Gu Wuchen stepped out of the carriage. "Mother really did make thorough preparations!"
Upon entering the residence, Gu Wuchen looked around and found the surroundings peaceful and secluded, with elegant furnishings. It was well suited for both cultivation and living.
Ye Yuan'er parked the carriage in the residence's stable. Before she could return to the residence, a middle-aged man in blue robes arrived at the gate.
"And you are?" Ye Yuan'er asked, puzzled.
"My name is Su Wen. I am the shopkeeper of the Heaven Dou City store."
Su Wen bowed gracefully. "May I ask who you are, miss?"
"Ye Yuan'er, Platinum Bishop of Spirit Hall," Ye Yuan'er said calmly.
"A Platinum Bishop?"
Su Wen was stunned.
He had not expected the young master to have a Platinum Bishop of Spirit Hall personally accompany him. But rather than say more to Ye Yuan'er, he entered the residence.
Hearing footsteps entering the residence, Gu Wuchen turned to look at Su Wen as he approached.
"You're the one in charge of the Heaven Dou City store, aren't you?" Gu Wuchen looked at Su Wen's courteous manner. "If there's anything you don't understand about sales, you can come ask me."
"Thank you for your kindness, Young Master Gu. These are the store's recent sales figures. Please have a look."
Su Wen had come both to pay the young master a visit and to hand Gu Wuchen the account book for inspection.
The managers of the three stores in Heaven Dou City, Star Luo City and Spirit City had long since received word from Gu Linchuan.
From now on, they no longer needed to report their monthly sales to Ice Arrival City; they only had to hand them to Gu Wuchen.
Gu Wuchen took the book and looked through it. The Wuchen Soap line was basically the best seller.
Its sales were almost monopolistic, with as many as ten thousand bars sold in a single day at its peak!
After looking it over, he handed the account book back to Su Wen.
"About right. There aren't any major problems."
Su Wen breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
"If you need anything, young master, just come to the store and find me."
Seeing that Su Wen was about to leave, Gu Wuchen immediately said, "Spread word around Heaven Dou City that the Gu Clan has quite a few ways to cure poison!"
Su Wen was taken aback. "Cure poison? Young master, the Gu Clan has some records on curing poison, but generally speaking, people who are poisoned go to healing-type Soul Masters. Hardly anyone comes to buy record books."
"Of course I know. I'm talking about poisons those healing-type Soul Masters can't cure."
The poison that couldn't be cured was certainly a reference to Dugu Bo.
Once the word spread, given the Gu Clan's reputation and prestige, that poison-wielding Titled Douluo surely wouldn't pass up the opportunity.
Understanding Gu Wuchen's intention, Su Wen nodded and immediately left, returning to the store to spread the word.
"Young master, are there really poisons in this world that healing-type Soul Masters can't cure?" Ye Yuan'er asked, somewhat puzzled.
"There certainly are, and there's something in it for you. You'll find out when the time comes!" Gu Wuchen said with a smile.
Ye Yuan'er felt a little anticipation. Whenever Gu Wuchen said that, there was always some little surprise.
Over the next few days, after Su Wen spread the word.
Although hardly anyone came to the store, on the sixth day, a man in jade-green brocade robes, with a powerful presence, arrived.
Su Wen was checking the accounts when he sensed that presence. He jerked his head up and looked at the man standing right in front of him.
"Your Majesty Poison Douluo?"
Why would Dugu Bo come here?
"I hear your Gu Clan has a way to cure every poison under heaven."
Dugu Bo spoke.
"That's right!" Su Wen said.
Could a master of poison be poisoned too? If that's what the young master meant, then he must have been referring to the Titled Douluo Dugu Bo standing before me.
"How do you cure it? Who was the one who said that?" Dugu Bo asked.
Six days had passed since the word spread before Dugu Bo finally decided to come.
The main reason was that the Gu Clan's reputation and integrity were so good that Dugu Bo wanted to take a gamble. If even the Gu Clan had no way to cure the poison,
then there was basically no one on the continent who could.
"It was our Gu Clan's young master, Gu Wuchen!"
Su Wen put down his work and stood up, knowing that Dugu Bo had come to find the person who had spread those words.
Even so, Dugu Bo was a little surprised to hear it was Gu Wuchen.
The child born to the Gu Clan was only around six or seven years old now.
He had come to try to heal a dead horse as if it were alive, so he followed Su Wen to the residence where Gu Wuchen was staying.
When they arrived, Dugu Bo looked at the tranquil place and could not help feeling a little moved.
The Gu Clan truly did have two Titled Douluo holding the fort; even the place they had chosen was away from the bustling district.
Su Wen knocked on the door.
Knock, knock, knock!
The sound carried inside, and before long, Gu Wuchen answered, "Come in!"
Hearing the response, Su Wen pushed the door open and entered.
Dugu Bo followed close behind, looking around until he spotted Gu Wuchen meditating beneath a tree. The boy had a handsome face, with a heroic bearing in his features.
Su Wen approached Gu Wuchen. "Young Master Gu, Poison Douluo Dugu Bo is here."
Had he finally come?
He had really kept him waiting. Gu Wuchen opened his eyes and fixed a sharp gaze on Dugu Bo, as if he meant to see right through him.
"Shopkeeper Su, you can go back first. Leave this to me."
Su Wen nodded, turned and left.
With Ye Yuan'er here, he had nothing to worry about.
On his way out, he closed the door behind him.
Gu Wuchen stood up. "Senior Dugu, I've long admired your name. It seems the poison you've been afflicted with is quite serious!"
At those words, Dugu Bo's expression changed.
"You can tell at a glance?"
