Gu Wuchen expanded the Gu Clan’s influence through academy acquisitions and new allies while completing the Ice God’s trial and accepting the Asura God’s challenge. As the Soul Master Tournament approached, he prepared to face Tang San and pressed Bo Saixi to bring Sea God Island under his federation.

• Gu Wuchen acquired Blue Tyrant Academy, merged it with Shrek Academy, and later brought the Four Great Elemental Academies and the Shui Family under the Gu Clan’s control.
• Gu Wuchen and the Snow Empress and Ice Empress completed the Ice God’s first trial, forming a Three-Extreme Ice Core and gaining new powers.
• The Asura God chose Gu Wuchen as his successor and sent him to defeat Tang Chen, the possessed King of Slaughter, and claim the Asura Demon Sword.
• Gu Wuchen laid out plans to expand the Gu Clan’s influence, while Zhu Zhuqing defeated Tang San and accused him and Yu Xiaogang of mistreating Xiao Wu.
• Gu Wuchen mastered Slay Impurity with One Sword, then persuaded Tang Yuehua to leave the Clear Sky Sect’s control and helped her break through her Soul Power limit and gain her first Soul Ring.
• Gu Wuchen recruited Meng Shu, Chao Tianxiang, and Meng Yiran, while Tang Yuehua agreed to act as an information link against the Clear Sky Sect.
• Zhu Zhuqing pledged Star Luo’s allegiance to the Gu Clan, and Gu Wuchen told her he would face her in the tournament finals as a member of the Spirit Hall Team.
• As the tournament opening ceremony neared, Gu Wuchen planned to speak for the Gu Clan and again asked Bo Saixi to hand Sea God Island over to him.

Gu Wuchen restored Ah Yin, secured her loyalty, and used his growing influence to strengthen the Gu Clan’s alliances and reshape the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. After Tang San turned to a dark god for power, Gu Wuchen passed the Ice God’s Third Trial and began receiving the Ice Empress as his Seventh Soul Ring.

• Gu Wuchen restored Ah Yin to human form at the Spring of Life, and she rejected Tang Hao and Tang San before choosing to join the Gu Clan.
• Gu Wuchen prevented Tang San’s Blue Silver Emperor awakening, then helped Ning Rongrong evolve her pagoda and supported Yu Luomian’s bid to lead the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.
• Gu Wuchen helped Yu Luomian become a Titled Douluo, and Yu Luomian defeated Yu Yuanzhen’s bid to retain leadership with support from the clan.
• Gu Wuchen warned Qian Renxue that Xue Beng and Prince Xue Xing threatened her plans, while Liu Erlong rejected Yu Xiaogang and chose to focus on her future.
• Tang Hao led Tang San to the God of Evil Corruption, who transformed Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass into Dark Blue Silver Grass and made him a God's Attendant.
• At the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect celebration, Ning Rongrong revealed her evolved pagoda and gave Gu Wuchen her portrait.
• Gu Wuchen passed the Ice God’s Third Trial by fusing with the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings and defeating the Ancient Ice and Fire Two-Headed Flood Dragon.
• The Ice and Fire Dragon Kings took physical form, and the Ice Empress began sacrificing herself as Gu Wuchen’s Seventh Soul Ring after he assured Bo Saixi and Ah Yin that she would remain as a Soul Spirit.
