Background / History

Eula was raised in the Lawrence Clan under strict aristocratic discipline. Her elders repeatedly corrected her posture, speech, tea service, and even the angle of her neck when bowing. This upbringing gradually estranged her from her parents, though its habits remained ingrained in her movements 14 25.

When she was invited to join the Knights of Favonius, her parents did not object. Eula interpreted this as support, but her father later clarified that allowing her to leave was not the same as endorsing her decision. She became captain of the Reconnaissance Company while enduring public hostility toward her family and attempting to atone for its past 15 25.

Eula is proud, blunt, and quick to challenge insults. At their first meeting, she condemns Ye Xuan’s character and objects to his threats against Mondstadt. Under coercion, however, she suppresses her anger rather than risk Amber’s safety. Her outward obedience does not mean affection: she explicitly rejects his claim that she will eventually fall for him 13 14 15.

Her loyalty to Amber and her responsibility toward Mondstadt repeatedly outweigh her personal humiliation. She immediately takes up her sword when monsters attack and later separates her own company from the Lawrence Clan’s soldiers without killing anyone. Accusations from both the public and her family nevertheless leave her vulnerable to self-blame 21 25 26.
