Life on Earth

Ye Xuan worked as a lead technician earning twenty thousand a month. When his superior Liu diverted his project bonus to a lover, Ye Xuan deleted the project's data, reset his work computer, and quit immediately before the handover deadline 1.

He had severed contact with his parents after they gave their house to his older brother and their savings to his younger brother. Using his ability to visit the past, he rendered both brothers infertile on their wedding nights and fathered children with their wives. Earth's consciousness judged his interference capable of changing history and expelled him, providing the chat group and Wish Power system as parting gifts 1.

Before his expulsion, he also spent much of his salary sending food and knowledge into the past. Losing access to Earth ended that assistance 1.

Arrival in Teyvat

Ye Xuan arrived directly atop the injured Ronava, who had lost her authority as Celestia's Ruler of Death. He coerced her into a sexual relationship and demanded that she acknowledge him as her master. He also offered to restore her strength and eventually remove the Heavenly Principles' restrictions on her authority. Ronava reluctantly accepted while declaring that she would supervise his actions in Teyvat, after which he initiated Time Reversal 1.

The two traveled to Liyue and joined the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Hu Tao hired each of them for one hundred thousand Mora per month, with food, lodging, and two days off each week. Ye Xuan concealed his lack of offensive abilities, presenting his unmatched ability to escape as his qualification 2.

Liyue and the Funeral Parlor

Ye Xuan deliberately sought Hu Tao's financial support, admitting that living at her expense was more appealing than working for Ningguang's money. He sold Ningguang information about Ronava's identity for ten million Mora and warned that Teyvat had only a few years remaining. Rather than promise to save it, he stated that he would leave with the people he cared about 4.

He offered Ningguang's payment to Hu Tao as a betrothal gift and promised to expand the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor across the Seven Nations. When Keqing questioned him, he said a savior would arrive but that he did not know the final outcome. He then departed with Ronava to establish a Mondstadt branch 5 6.

Mondstadt Operations

At Mondstadt's entrance, Ye Xuan used Timmie as leverage against Swan and Lawrence, ultimately throwing the boy into Cider Lake. He and Ronava then demanded control of Mondstadt's funeral affairs. Venti intervened in their confrontation with the Knights of Favonius and agreed to arrange a storefront and the transfer of funeral responsibilities 7 8.

Ye Xuan later introduced himself to Lumine as the Fifth Descender and emphasized that, unlike her, he could freely leave Teyvat. He also forced Eula into service as a maid, using threats against Amber to secure her obedience 13 14.

He challenged Eula's understanding of the Lawrence Clan's history by claiming that the Contract of the Leeward was fabricated. Their ensuing bet offered Eula freedom—and a promise that Amber would remain untouched—if she saved Mondstadt and earned its people's gratitude 15 16.

During the Holy Lyre der Himmel incident, Ye Xuan brought Jean and other Knights to witness Lumine's attempted theft. A Fatui mage took the lyre first, and Lumine and Paimon were detained. He subsequently declined to participate in saving Dvalin, leaving the matter to Venti and the Traveler 16 17.

Shinjuku Visit

After warning Kasumi Miwa of Gojo's impending death, Ye Xuan traveled with Ronava and Eula to Shinjuku on December 24, 2018. Gojo declined his offer of additional information about Sukuna and instead asked him to protect his students if necessary 11 18.
