Genre: Science Fiction Short Story
In the beginning of the universe, when the world had just begun, space was a chaotic void. An ocean of energy and particles filled the entire universe. As dimensions fluctuated, particles and antiparticles annihilated, and the universe was slowly born in a fog.
As time went by, space expanded, the temperature decreased, energy weakened, dimensions stabilized, and particles gradually collided and combined. Finally, the core of the first star was ignited, and its light, like a lighthouse guiding lost ships on a turbulent sea, stubbornly shone despite being eroded by storms.
As time continued to advance, stars were constantly being born in the limited space, but the rules governing the operation of galaxies were not established. The disordered movement of stars led to continuous collisions until the first primordial black holes appeared, after which these collisions gradually decreased.
Along with the stars came a vast number of planets, which also participated in the first war after the stars appeared. Only after they were captured by the stars and had regular orbits did the universe finally stabilize and order gradually take hold.
As space continues to expand, the next war becomes a war between giant black holes. The expansion of space causes the distance between black holes to grow ever greater, and the separation of black holes plunges celestial bodies that have just established stable orbits into chaos once again, forcing them to participate in the war between black holes for celestial bodies.
At that moment, the first life forms emerged on the planet. When the first life form looked up at the stars, civilization was born. They developed rapidly, but the vast majority of them could not escape the death radiation produced by the explosion of the surrounding stars. They were wiped out before they even left the planet or just after they left.
Of course, there were also some powerful civilizations that developed defensive technologies before the first rays of death radiation arrived, allowing them to survive in the harsh interstellar environment. From then on, they were free to roam the skies, and nothing could stop their progress except other civilizations.
Civilizations are constantly being born and destroyed. In just a few hundred million years, countless civilizations have appeared and disappeared. Although only a very small number have survived, the number of civilizations that emerged in that era was enormous. Civilizations were almost everywhere in the galaxy, and most planets were occupied by civilized beings.
During this period, a powerful civilization emerged. This creature had six thick, serpentine limbs covered with sharp spikes. If one were to be struck by these powerful limbs, one would be severely injured, if not killed.
Above the center of the soft limbs is a more robust cylindrical body covered in colorful armor scales. At the top of the body are two superimposed spherical heads, one of which has a ferocious face and various organs that are completely contrary to human aesthetics. At first glance, it can only be described as terrifying.
The other head is a solid sphere without any organs. Both heads are capable of thinking, especially the solid head, which not only has extremely high calculation ability, but also extraordinary logical, analytical, and reasoning abilities.
These powerful creatures not only survive in harsh environments, but are also extremely intelligent. They are named after their home planet and call themselves the Snow Tribe. They evolved into civilized beings in less than 10,000 years after their birth. In that chaotic era, without rapid evolutionary capabilities, it would be difficult to become a civilization, let alone an ordinary creature.
It took them another 20,000 years to make rapid progress, growing from Planetary-Level Civilization to Stellar-Level Civilization, then to Star System-Level Civilization, Small Star Sector Civilization, Great Star Region Civilization, and finally Galactic-Level Civilization. During this time, the Snow Tribe only stayed within a few dozen light-years of Snow Star.
After that, the Snow Tribe's true expansion began. They defeated all civilizations within tens of thousands of light-years with overwhelming force and became a top-tier civilization at the Galaxy-Level. By this time, the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxy had basically taken shape. Although the internal structure of the galaxies was not yet fully stable, the distance between the two galaxies had exceeded 100,000 light-years.
Ignoring the affairs between star systems, the Snow Tribe continued their expansion. During this time, they encountered two equally outstanding civilizations in the Milky Way: the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization. These two civilizations were in the mid-stage of the Galaxy-Level. At that time, the Milky Way was already nearly 20,000 light-years in size, which was large enough for civilized beings.
The Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization have existed for over five million years. Facing the Snow Tribe, which has only existed for less than fifty thousand years, they have enough airspace to survive, yet they still unite to force the Snow Tribe to give up most of their airspace and continue to launch attacks on the Snow Tribe in secret.
The Snow Tribe's rise was too rapid, so rapid that it frightened them. If they weren't wary of the Snow Tribe's strength, they would have wiped Snow Tribe out long ago. But now that the Snow Tribe has grown stronger, they have lost their chance. Under the checks and balances of the two established civilizations, the Snow Tribe has also ceased to expand. The three parties each occupy a piece of space in the ancient Milky Way.
The Snow Tribe chief knew that the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization were determined to destroy them. They had been quietly developing technology and accumulating power, preparing to launch a fatal blow against the Snow Tribe. This conflict was irreconcilable; two tigers cannot share one mountain, especially since the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization were full of malice towards the Snow Tribe.
Fortunately, the Snow Tribe, this chosen species, has various innate advantages: they learn quickly, develop quickly, and even more terrifyingly, they reproduce even faster. Snow Tribe creatures do not distinguish between male and female; if they need to reproduce, their reproductive organs will grow clusters of small individuals like mushrooms.
Each Snow Tribe creature can reproduce dozens of offspring at a time. The small individuals, only a few centimeters long, can grow up and leave the mother to move independently. However, they still need to live around the mother for a period of time until they are capable of independent survival. At the request of the Snow Tribe chief, the Snow Tribe began to reproduce wildly.
In just ten thousand years, the number of the Snow Tribe creatures increased to tens of trillions. Compared with the Snow Tribe's Chosen Ability, the Snow Tribe's unity was also the main reason why the Snow Tribe later became a dominant force. At that time, the Snow Tribe had no other desires. The only goal of all the clansmen was to defeat the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization so that the Snow Tribe could survive in peace.
In order to defeat the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization, the Snow Tribe chief mobilized every Snow Tribe and appropriately relaxed technological controls. On every planet occupied by the Snow Tribe, there were large shipbuilding bases. The Snow Tribe were intelligent and hardworking. The Snow Tribe occupied hundreds of millions of planets, and every year, one or two warships were born on each planet.
The Snow Tribe's rapid development made the Knight Civilization and the Doomsday Civilization feel an even greater crisis. They finally realized that no matter how hard they tried, they could not catch up with the Snow Tribe Clan. The longer it dragged on, the greater the gap between them and the Snow Tribe would become. Thus, a full-scale war against the Snow Tribe broke out.
