Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Outside the Convention’s civilization rankings 529 Earth Star has not joined the Pan-Civilization Convention and holds no recognized civilization rank.
Upper fifth grade, approaching fourth grade 577 Assessment of the Divine Land’s overall strength without Li Xingkong. Newly developed weapons of mass destruction allow it to contend with fourth-grade civilizations.
Above fourth grade with Li Xingkong 577 Including Li Xingkong raises its effective strength above fourth grade; his mobility and endurance make him more dangerous than some fourth-grade civilizations’ ultimate weapons. This is a comparative assessment, not a documented admission to the Convention’s rankings.

History

Origins of Cultivation

Earth Star originally had neither Spiritual Qi nor any history of immortal cultivation. Li Xingkong therefore had no local inheritance to follow: the system required him to learn how to manufacture Spiritual Qi and establish cultivation himself 3 112.

His early work included breeding Body Tempering Grass from lettuce and developing resources that could support later cultivators. He initially hesitated to cooperate with the Divine Land’s authorities because he feared interference with his cultivation, but accepted Tang Cheng’s offer to arrange contact without unwanted interruptions 120.

Lunar Contact and Public Cultivation

The Outer Space Treaty prohibited Earth Star’s countries from claiming celestial bodies as national territory. At that time, the Divine Land was the only country still capable of reaching the Moon, making the treaty a direct obstacle to its lunar ambitions 146.

The Divine Land subsequently announced friendly relations with the Moon’s supposed indigenous inhabitants, the Xi People. Li Xingkong and Tang Cheng returned to Earth Star as their representatives. Foreign governments challenged the visitors’ legal status and the Divine Land’s recognition of their rights, but Li Xingkong’s demonstration of personal firepower forced the delegations to treat him more cautiously 228 229 230 231.

During the visit, Li Xingkong began installing Earth Veins near major Divine Land cities. The authorities carefully managed the process because experienced meditation practitioners were expected to sense the newly available Spiritual Qi first 236.

Public access to cultivation later followed a staged process: residents supplied identification to obtain meditation methods, learned to sense Spiritual Qi, and only then received the Divine Sense pattern containing the Rising Sun Guide 289.

World War and Nuclear Winter

Earth Star’s countries consolidated into competing blocs before widespread warfare. Russia and Eagle Country launched nuclear attacks, while the Divine Land concentrated on interception rather than retaliation that would contaminate territory it intended to unify. Li Xingkong joined the maritime defenses to intercept incoming missiles 393 398.

The Divine Land eventually occupied most of Earth Star and secured an overwhelming advantage. Nuclear dust and debris obscured the surface, and the satellite systems on which countries depended largely ceased functioning. The Nation-Protecting Grand Formation kept much of the smoke and dust outside the Divine Land’s original territory 410 412.

Years later, reduced sunlight had lowered global temperatures and expanded both polar ice caps. Outside the formation, former countries had become snow-covered expanses; inside it, the Divine Land remained prosperous. At that stage, its formations could preserve local living conditions but could not reverse the planet-wide movement toward an ice age 429.

Planetary Engineering

The system’s Foundation Establishment Perfection assessment required Li Xingkong to control Earth Star’s surface—from its atmosphere down to its crust—including weather, rivers, mountains, and seas 412.

For large-scale terrain changes, he designed formations that used the crust’s own energy to guide geological movement toward predetermined shapes. The process could take hundreds or thousands of years rather than instantly remaking continents. He placed the formations around seismic belts, and later confirmed that South Americas had shifted slightly north 427 436 449.

Snail People Invasion

Alien scouts reached Earth Star undetected but discovered that its inhabitants could leave the atmosphere and travel through space without spacecraft. Their attempt to gather intelligence led to the discovery of the approaching Snail People warship and the construction of near-Earth space defenses 466 474 475.

The invasion nevertheless bypassed Earth Star. The Snail People mistook Venus’s planet-wide formation, conspicuous energy weapons, and constant military activity for signs that it was the civilization’s capital. Earth Star’s defenders had prepared to defend their homeworld to the death and had to redirect their forces toward Venus 479 481.

Li Xingkong ended the battle, and the Divine Land planned to distribute alien prisoners among other Solar System planets to accelerate their development. Earth Star itself could not accommodate the entire captive population 490 496.

The victory exposed a larger strategic problem: the Snail People nominally claimed the surrounding region, while the Convention’s rules might classify newly emerged civilizations as their subjects. Li Xingkong eventually set out to confront them in their own territory rather than allow another war to reach the Solar System 500 519.

Protected Homeworld

As the Divine Land expanded, Earth Star became a protected area for ordinary people and cultivators below a designated early Qi Refining threshold. More advanced cultivators had to relocate to other worlds. The Divine Land also reorganized its government into the Central Heavenly Court, adding star and continent administrative levels 559.

Research institutions largely moved to a restricted lunar area, while White Jade Capital became a civilian transportation hub. Li Xingkong found abandoned cities, a dwindling population in his hometown, and a young earth god maintaining his old courtyard 560.

Earth Star retained strong symbolic importance despite this migration. A conference voted to place the Shield of Truth there because it was the Divine Land’s root. Later, the Great Expedition sought a more resource-rich capital region, and the Divine Land’s main forces eventually relocated to a new capital star system 564 630 733.

Heavenly Demon Occupation

Agents of the Holy Church of Truth sealed Earth Star off under the pretext of an investigation. Their documents did not authorize them to prohibit entry, but their position as representatives of a Convention-founding power deterred challenges. Only a handful of cultivators escaped, many suffering serious disturbances to their minds and cultivation 734.

Ji Qiu reported that three heavenly demons governed infatuation, envy, and hatred, turning the region into their playground. When Li Xingkong returned, he found a membrane enclosing the Solar System, dense Baleful Qi, stagnant technology, and cultivator factions fighting across ruined landscapes. Reincarnation nevertheless continued to function for most of the dead 736.

Li Xingkong later recalled dealing with the Church’s intruders before Wan Chongshan compelled him to enter seclusion, preventing him from personally beginning Earth Star’s recovery at that time 798.

Recovery and Interworld Gateway

After nearly 7,000 years had passed on Earth Star, Li Xingkong returned to a flourishing star system crowded with cultivators, including visitors from alien civilizations. His former companions had advanced and departed to pursue godhood. Rather than immediately search for them in that era, he activated the Moonlight Record to turn time backward 798.

He later linked the Homecoming Knot to Earth Star, making it the universe’s only gateway to the Great Primordial World 803.

Because this interworld anchor was located on Earth Star, the universe’s will strengthened its protection of the planet and made the entire Solar System a genuine safe zone. During the open war between the three major powers, aliens, cultivators, and organizations crowded into the system as refugees 826.

Geography and Environment

  • Appearance from space: A gigantic blue world, visibly rotating beneath observers in orbit 156.
  • Continents: Its seven continents originated from a single landmass divided by geological change 427.
  • Atmosphere: Shields the surface from much of the energy and cosmic radiation present in space. Li Xingkong’s solar-energy absorption was dozens of times faster in orbit than on the surface 159.
  • Gravity: The planet’s steady gravitational field is difficult for beginning practitioners to observe through changes alone; the Moon’s changing pull and the tides provide a more accessible reference for the Moonlight Qi Refining Method 151.
  • Interstellar setting: The Solar System lies in a remote, resource-poor region that became an unattended buffer zone between two empires 500.
  • Altered physical limits: The surrounding region had previously served as a Kingdom of Fixed Light weapons-testing ground. Earth Star’s observed speed-of-light limit resulted from that power’s revision of the local limit 528 554.

Cultivation and Spiritual Ecology

Artificial Spiritual Qi

  • No natural foundation: Naturally occurring spirit plants did not exist on the original Earth Star 61.
  • Controlled production: Li Xingkong chose the Earth Vein Method instead of self-multiplying Spiritual Qi, which risked consuming the planet’s matter as its supply expanded 204 205.
  • Regional distribution: Earth Veins allow their operators to regulate production speed, concentration, and the area supplied with Spiritual Qi 204.
  • Limited authority: An Earth Vein retains control over the Qi it produces, but that authority becomes subordinate to a cultivator’s own once the Qi enters their cultivation cycle 205.

Spirit Plants and Medicine

  • Human-developed species: Earth Star’s spiritual plants were bred artificially; their properties had to be investigated locally rather than inferred from the system’s records of other civilizations 283.
  • No immediate ecological transformation: Artificial Spiritual Qi does not automatically mutate native organisms. Without human intervention, organisms capable of interacting with it might take millions of years to emerge 311.
  • Independent pill research: Apart from inherited refinement techniques, the planet’s pill-refinement discipline had to develop its ingredients and formulas through experimentation 283.

Infrastructure and Protection

Installation / System Function
Earth Veins Manufacture Spiritual Qi and distribute it within designated regions; they can merge with mountains, rivers, and seas 205 236.
Nation-Protecting Grand Formation Protected the Divine Land’s original territory from nuclear smoke and dust, preserving sunlight and habitable conditions 412 429.
Weather and continental formations Regulate weather and tectonic movement. Unlike Venus’s conspicuous planetary formation, these systems are not readily visible from space 481.
White Jade Capital Orbital installation later used as a civilian transportation hub 322 560.
Surface spatial gates Connect White Jade Capital directly to Earth Star’s surface; entry checks protect ordinary residents and the native ecosystem 429.
Appointed gods Guard the protected homeworld and can defeat returning Foundation Establishment cultivators. Divine posts are filled by figures such as virtuous individuals, revolutionary martyrs, and distinguished soldiers 560.
Shield of Truth Selected by conference vote for installation on Earth Star 564.
Homecoming Knot anchor Makes Earth Star the sole gateway between its universe and the Great Primordial World, prompting stronger protection from the universe’s will 803 826.

Society and Conservation

  • Unequal access to cultivation: Newcomers denied cultivation access protested the advantages of cultivator families. One dispute concerned pregnancies extended for years so children could be born already cultivating; protesters demanded a ten-month limit 429.
  • Controlled foreign access: After interstellar travel opened, the Divine Land’s visa system admitted visitors to much of the Solar System, but Earth Star and the Moon remained subject to stricter controls 573.
  • Homeworld conservation: Once space resources became accessible, the Divine Land preferred extraterrestrial mining over extracting equivalent resources from Earth Star 516.
  • Continuing vulnerability: Divine protection did not prevent every casualty. Tang Huhu’s birth parents died during a clash between Earth Star’s deities and a cultivator who had secretly entered the planet 599.
