The Heartless, Cheating Scumbag Woman in a Female-Led World (1)
"President Jiang, thank you for driving me home."
The young man in the passenger seat looked barely into his twenties. His short hair was soft and smooth, with bangs that covered his eyebrows and revealed a pair of clear, captivating deer eyes. His delicate face bore the sweetness and youthful innocence unique to a male college graduate just entering the working world.
Meng Yun was a new intern in the department. With his good looks and sweet words, he was quite popular at the company.
The department had held a group dinner that day, and Meng Yun's popularity had led to him being urged into drinking quite a bit until he got drunk. As it happened, Jiang Xuefu lived nearby, so she had given him a ride on her way home.
"It's nothing. Hurry inside, and don't let your family worry." The woman's expression was calm as she spoke, but a careful listener could still hear the concern and tenderness beneath her words.
Meng Yun's hand paused as he reached to undo his seat belt. He looked up in secret and saw the woman's cool, flawless profile.
S-so beautiful... Meng Yun swallowed, the wonder and infatuation in his eyes almost taking tangible form. Although he saw President Jiang at the company every day, no matter how many times he saw her, she still made his heart flutter.
Seeing that he hadn't moved, Jiang Xuefu leaned over and unfastened his seat belt herself. "Why have you gone still? Hmm?"
The suggestive gesture and words nearly turned Meng Yun as red as a shrimp. How could she do that? It was too unfair!
The two had known each other at the company for some time, and things had long since grown flirtatious between them. But because Jiang Xuefu was married, Meng Yun had never taken another step forward.
But now, perhaps the atmosphere was too wonderful, or the woman's gaze too tender. In any case, he couldn't hold back.
Meng Yun shyly wrapped his arms around Jiang Xuefu's waist and, when she wasn't paying attention, gave her a light kiss on the cheek.
"President Jiang, I like you!" A young person's love was always so passionate and direct. Meng Yun gazed at Jiang Xuefu with shining eyes, full of love and courage that sent him toward her like a moth throwing itself into a flame.
"Xiao Yun? But..." A flicker of surprise passed through Jiang Xuefu's clear eyes. She moved her slender fingers, and her silver wedding ring glinted coldly in the dim light of the car.
"It's all right. I don't mind."
Jiang Xuefu's gaze darkened. She stared at the young man's rosy lips, placed her fingers on his slender, pointed chin, and kissed him without hesitation.
Mmm~ I feel like I'm about to suffocate, but I'm so happy~
Enveloped in the rich scent of gardenias, Meng Yun felt utterly dazed. When the deep kiss finally ended, he lay panting in Jiang Xuefu's arms, his hands still wrapped tightly around her waist.
Jiang Xuefu pinched the soft flesh of his cheek and said gently, "Xiao Yun, are you really so bad at kissing?"
The woman's voice was so indulgent and doting that Meng Yun couldn't help acting a little petulant and jealous. "I'm not like you, President Jiang. That was my first kiss."
He had heard from their colleagues that Jiang Xuefu and her husband had started dating in college and married as soon as they graduated. They had been married for five years now.
Hmph, an old man pushing thirty. Who knows how faded and withered he's gotten by now?
Once Meng Yun started thinking that way, he grew even more jealous, especially when he remembered that Jiang Xuefu would go home to see that old man after she left.
"President Jiang, kiss me some more~ If we kiss a few more times, I'll learn how."
The two fooled around in the car for quite a while longer. Several hours passed before Jiang Xuefu finally opened the door to her home.
Rong Chao was half reclining on the sofa in pale white silk pajamas that matched hers. It looked as though he had waited a long time for her and fallen asleep.
The man's face was breathtakingly beautiful and as pure as snow, with long, fanlike lashes, a high nose, and crimson lips. Though his eyes were closed, it did nothing to diminish his aloof elegance.
If Meng Yun knew this was what the old man he spoke of looked like, a few measures of envy would probably be added to his jealousy.
At the first sound from the doorway, Rong Chao woke almost immediately.
"Fufu? Why are you home so late today?"
Jiang Xuefu took off her suit jacket. Her shirt cuffs were rolled up slightly, revealing a glimpse of fair, supple skin.
She walked over to the sofa, lowered her head, and gave the man a light kiss on the lips. "They kept the party going for a while, and I drove a colleague home, so I'm a little late."
Rong Chao nodded gently without asking whether the colleague was a man or a woman. He trusted her.
"You must not have eaten much at the gathering again. Are you hungry? I had Auntie save some porridge for you."
He sat with one hand braced against the sofa, his black eyes like dark jade still heavy with sleep.
"All right, I'll go make myself something in the kitchen in a bit." Jiang Xuefu came over and slipped an arm around the man's waist. Her heart ached for him as she said, "If you're sleepy, go to bed first. You don't have to wait for me next time."
Rong Chao shook his head, his cool voice taking on a coaxing note. "No, I have to wait for Fufu to come home so we can sleep together."
"Honestly, you." Jiang Xuefu tapped the tip of his nose. "Wait here a little while, then. I'll go see what's in the kitchen."
Rong Chao watched her head to the kitchen, the corners of his lips curving slightly as love filled his eyes.
When the two had first gotten together, Rong Chao had been a local with a car and a home in City A. His family ran a chain of restaurants, so he was quite well-off. Jiang Xuefu, on the other hand, had come from the countryside. Aside from a face that heaven had especially favored, she had practically nothing to her name.
Rong Chao's mother and father had not approved of their union at first, but eventually, unable to change his mind, they had reluctantly agreed. When Rong Chao married her, his family had not asked for a bride price and had even given him a car and a home as his dowry. They had placed everything on a bet that Jiang Xuefu's feelings were sincere.
Fortunately, Rong Chao had not bet wrong.
Five years after graduation, Jiang Xuefu had earned her superiors' appreciation and risen step by step from a minor employee to general manager at a publicly listed company. She now earned a million a year and had long since gained a firm foothold in City A.
Seeing that she had yet to come out of the kitchen, Rong Chao thought he would first tidy up the suit jacket she had casually draped over a chair.
He walked over and picked up the jacket. It still carried the faint scent of gardenias, and Rong Chao couldn't resist lowering his head to take a gentle sniff, his cool face full of smiles and intoxication.
Because his wife liked the scent of gardenias, Rong Chao had gradually come to be especially fond of it too. Not only did he scent his clothes with it, but his shampoo and body wash were also all gardenia-scented.
It made him feel as though he were surrounded by his wife at every moment, as if they were a match made in heaven, unable to be apart from each other.
Suddenly, he felt something hard in the suit pocket. Rong Chao turned it open and saw a tube of lipstick lying inside.
The lipstick had clearly been used. It was a youthful shade of pale pink and definitely couldn't belong to Rong Chao. He never wore that shade.
A wave of panic rose in Rong Chao's heart. He gripped the lipstick tightly, his beautiful, cool black eyes gradually turning fierce.
Which little bitch is trying to seduce my wife this time?
