The Heartless, Cheating Scumbag Woman in a Female-Dominated World (10)
The Rong Family.
Father Rong's heart ached at the sight of his haggard younger son. "That Jiang Xuefu has gone too far! It's bad enough that she didn't take your side, but why did she have to argue with you too? Her family's no better, every last one of them is unreasonable."
"Be good, Xiao Chao, and stop crying. At worst, we'll just get a divorce. There are plenty of good women in the world."
Rong Chao, who had been curled up in his father's arms, silently shedding tears, immediately protested through his sobs, "No, I can't divorce her. I only want her."
He had finally managed to marry her after so much effort. How could he divorce her?
"I was wrong about this. I shouldn't have said those things to her. I wanted to apologize, but I couldn't find her..."
Rong Chao hung his head, his lips pale. The light had gone out of his beautiful eyes, and only tears the size of beans streamed from them. The sight made Mother and Father Rong's hearts ache.
Their Xiao Chao had been a favored child of heaven since he was little, pampered and doted on as he grew up. When had he ever suffered such grievances?
Mother Rong slammed her hand on the table in anger. "I'll call her! I refuse to believe she won't even answer a call from me, her mother-in-law!"
With that, she took out her phone and called Jiang Xuefu.
Rong Chao silently stopped crying and stared intently at the phone in Mother Rong's hand, hoping she would actually get through.
But the phone rang for a long time. She called three times, and each time the result was the same-no one answered.
"That Jiang woman really dares not answer? What does she take our Rong Family for? And what does she take our Xiao Chao for?" Father Rong scowled, his dissatisfaction with Jiang Xuefu reaching its peak.
He had known women who were too poor weren't fit to marry, because you could never tell what kind of act they would put on to deceive you for money.
Besides, it had only been five short years, and she had already shown her true colors. What would become of their Xiao Chao in the future?
Mother Rong cursed her a few times, then said, "I'll go to her company and find her tomorrow! She only got into that company because I recommended her. Has Jiang Xuefu decided her wings are strong enough after just five years? She even dares to bully the Rong Family's son?!"
Seeing that the call still hadn't gone through, Rong Chao fell from hope into despair. His heart ached so badly he could barely stand it, and he felt as if the sky were about to fall. They had been together for seven years and had never had a falling-out this serious.
"Ah, all right, Xiao Chao. It's already late, so go to bed first. Xiao Feng, help us talk some sense into him." Although Father Rong was furious, there was nothing he could do but tell his son to get some rest. He had been crying all day. How could his body take it?
"Mm." Rong Feng answered, taking Rong Chao's body, limp with crying, and leading him upstairs.
Upstairs.
Seeing his younger brother like this, Rong Feng hesitated for a long while. Though his heart ached, he still voiced the words he had prepared in his mind long ago. "Xiao Chao, do you know why you two argued?"
Rong Chao looked up at him and spoke in a hoarse voice tinged with hatred. "Because of her mother and father."
"Right, but why don't her mother and father like you? Isn't it because you two don't have children?"
Rong Feng had said a few words to prepare the ground, but when he thought of what he was about to say, he still couldn't stop his heart from leaping into his throat.
But this was the best opportunity.
The man lowered his eyes and stared at the floor, not even daring to look Rong Chao in the eye. "Xiao Chao, actually, when you fainted and ended up in the hospital in your junior year, Jiang Xuefu and I both learned about your condition."
"What do you mean?" Rong Chao froze, staring blankly, unable to believe what he had heard.
For the past few years, he had kept using the excuse that he didn't want children so soon because he didn't want Jiang Xuefu to know this secret. But now someone was telling him that Fufu had known all along?
What he heard next, however, was even harder for him to accept.
"It's all right, Xiao Chao. Although you... if you're willing, I can help you."
What else could be done about this? Naturally, he would provide the reproductive cells, and the child conceived would then be his and Jiang Xuefu's.
With a child, there would be a bond, and then things would slowly fall into place like water flowing into a channel...
Now that he had finally said it, Rong Feng felt much lighter.
But Rong Chao was genuinely shocked all over again. He hadn't even recovered from the news that Jiang Xuefu knew his secret, and now he had heard such low, shameless words from Rong Feng!
His heart, already riddled with holes, seemed to shatter into countless pieces. Rong Chao was so furious he nearly fainted.
He raised his hand and swung it hard at Rong Feng with all his strength, cursing through gritted teeth, "You slut!"
Rong Feng saw the blow coming but didn't dodge, taking the slap squarely. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and urged him sincerely, "Xiao Chao, I mean it. I hope you'll give it some serious thought."
"Get out!"
Sluts, sluts, they were all sluts!
Hearing the commotion upstairs, Father Rong hurried up, afraid something had happened.
When he reached the upper floor and saw Rong Chao crying over the side of the bed and Rong Feng with a swollen handprint on his right cheek, he was startled. For a moment, he didn't even know which of them to comfort first.
"What happened between you two brothers?"
Rong Chao said nothing, only shedding tears in silence. He had probably shed fewer tears in the nearly thirty years of his life than he had today.
"Xiao Feng, you tell me." Seeing that he couldn't get anything out of Rong Chao, Father Rong turned to ask his elder son, who had always been easy to look after.
Perhaps because he had already said it, he no longer felt much of a burden in saying it again.
Rong Feng repeated exactly what he had just said to Rong Chao.
Silence, deathly silence.
After two seconds of quiet, Father Rong said in disbelief, "Th-this, Xiao Feng, that's your brother's wife! How could you... oh, what sins did our Rong Family commit?! How did both of you end up falling into Jiang Xuefu's hands?!"
Father Rong, who prided himself on his excellent manners, couldn't help crying out now. He regretted it, regretted it so bitterly!
If he had known this would happen, he would never have let Xiao Chao marry her, no matter what!
Jiang Xuefu knew nothing of what had happened at the Rong home. At that moment, she was still immersed in a haven of tenderness.
Chen Yu's body really was quite good, with a flavor all its own. He was very vigorous and served her with exceptional comfort.
Over the past few days, she had guessed that Rong Chao might come looking for her at the company, and that his parents might even come looking for her too. To save herself the trouble, she simply took leave and stopped going to work. She also took out her SIM card and replaced it with another, effectively disappearing altogether.
During her days at the apartment, she slept until she woke naturally every day and had someone to attend to her day and night. She was practically living like an immortal.
Jiang Xuefu's mother and father returned to their hometown two days after moving into the apartment, saying it was so they wouldn't disturb the couple's private time. Before he left, her father secretly slipped Chen Yu a folk remedy, saying that drinking the medicine every day could improve cell quality.
Chen Yu obediently went to a pharmacy to have the medicine prepared and divided into individual packets. He drank a packet every time they finished, never missing one.
The days passed like this for nearly a week, until Xie Jinhua called her new number.
"Fufu, you haven't come to the office for a week. Is everything all right?" The man's voice was as warm and gentle as ever, like the warm sun on an autumn day, pleasant to listen to.
Jiang Xuefu lay lazily with her head in Chen Yu's lap, eating the grapes he fed her as she answered him casually, "I'm fine, President Xie. I'll be back at work next week."
"That's good. And don't forget Xiao Ning's tutoring session tomorrow."
Tutoring? Time had gone so fast. It was already time for another session.
The boy's fair little face, with its red lips and white teeth, suddenly flashed through Jiang Xuefu's mind. Though he was a little brat, he was quite good-looking.
"All right, I know. I'll be there on time tomorrow."
Ah, happy days really were short-lived. Tomorrow she would have to turn back into a beast of burden.
After hanging up, Jiang Xuefu couldn't resist holding Chen Yu down and kissing him a few more times, making his handsome face flush red.
"Xiao Yu, I won't be able to come here often anymore."
Chen Yu, who had still been immersed in the woman's kisses and affection, went pale at those words.
He forced a smile. "Wife, I understand. As long as you don't forget me, that's enough."
He had been so happy these past few days, so happy it felt unreal, as though it had been stolen.
But he knew his wife didn't belong to him alone.
Jiang Xuefu was pleased by how obedient and sensible Chen Yu was. In her eyes, this was how a good man ought to be.
All he had to do was obediently wait for his wife to come home, listen to her, and not cause her trouble.
How could so many men fail to do something so simple?
She kissed Chen Yu's lips again, her voice both coaxing and alluring. "Xiao Yu is very obedient. This is Xiao Yu's reward."
Good children deserved rewards.
