After inviting the three Saegusa sisters to dinner, Yunyi turned and went downstairs without waiting for an answer. Mayumi Saegusa exchanged glances with her two younger sisters before making a decision.
When she brought them downstairs, Yunyi was already sitting at the table, eating.
Mayumi Saegusa raised her eyebrows slightly at the food on the table.
This guy really isn't pretending anymore! Mayumi Saegusa thought.
The reason was simple: every dish on the table was from the Great Asian Alliance. More precisely, they were all dishes from Dragon Country!
"I can't make the food you like, so you'll have to make do with this." Yunyi made no particular effort to invite them to eat. After the casual remark, he simply carried on eating.
Mayumi Saegusa didn't mind. She took her sisters over to the table and sat down with them. Feeling apprehensive, the three sisters reached out with their chopsticks for the dishes that looked delicious!
Their expressions changed when they took their first bites. If they had been asked to judge Yunyi's cooking then, their answers would at least have included the word "delicious."
With such delicious food in front of them, Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa noticeably picked up the pace with their chopsticks. For the two of them, today had been full of misfortune!
Earlier, in the room, Mayumi Saegusa had told them roughly what had happened. Although it was a fact that the three of them had become hostages, Yunyi didn't seem inclined to make things difficult for them.
With that in mind, Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa let their guard down somewhat. For Mayumi Saegusa, however, the pressure had only grown.
"Mayumi, I told you, you can't solve problems on an empty stomach."
Yunyi's voice suddenly rang out, startling the tense Mayumi Saegusa so badly that she dropped her chopsticks on the table.
The noise stopped Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa in the middle of their meal. They looked at their older sister with concern, and Mayumi Saegusa could only respond with a strained smile.
Yunyi smiled helplessly, picked up a clean pair of chopsticks from the side, and handed them to Mayumi Saegusa. "Let's eat first. We can talk afterward."
"Okay."
Mayumi Saegusa accepted the chopsticks Yunyi handed her and joined the meal.
The atmosphere at the table was oppressive, but all four of them ate their fill. Yunyi's cooking really had exceeded Mayumi Saegusa's expectations. If they hadn't been on opposing sides, she truly would have wanted to be friends with him.
After the meal, Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa volunteered to wash the dishes. It really wasn't something the Saegusa Family twins were good at, but to give their sister and Yunyi a chance to talk, they could only brace themselves and take on the task.
In the living room, Yunyi and Mayumi Saegusa sat on the couch. At first, they simply sat in silence. It wasn't until Yunyi asked, somewhat helplessly, "What are you planning to do next?" that Mayumi Saegusa shot back irritably, "I should be the one asking you that!"
"What I do next depends entirely on what you decide. So, Mayumi, tell me, what are you planning to do?"
Yunyi expressed his thoughts calmly. Mayumi Saegusa, however, couldn't understand why he thought that way.
It was no wonder Mayumi Saegusa read so much into it. Yunyi's behavior was simply far beyond what an ordinary person could understand. No matter how one looked at it, an infiltrator from a foreign power shouldn't have been as calm as Yunyi after being exposed.
What Mayumi Saegusa didn't know was that Yunyi acted this way because he had a trump card.
If Yunyi had been asked to take on all of Japan alone, he might not have been capable of it. But if he wanted to leave after being exposed, no one in Japan could stop him.
For Yunyi, who had been born into this world with memories of his previous life, this was a hard-won new life. Everything from his previous life was no longer so important to him. But he wasn't entirely satisfied with the world he now lived in, either.

Yunyi's answer left Mayumi Saegusa silent for a long time. She played out and imagined many scenarios in her mind, but none of them matched the reality before her.
In the end, Mayumi Saegusa could only sigh helplessly. "Yunyi, I really can't figure you out. What exactly are you trying to do?"
Yunyi merely smiled and didn't answer Mayumi Saegusa's question.
There were some things he could let Mayumi Saegusa know. But there were others he would never speak of to anyone.
"Then hear my proposal."
Yunyi stood up and took a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet.
He didn't know why the people who had furnished the place for him had prepared wine, but it really could come in handy in the present situation.
"I've heard that drinking some red wine before bed helps you sleep?"
Yunyi sounded as though he were asking a question, but without waiting for Mayumi Saegusa to react, he poured the freshly opened wine into a glass.
"What do you mean by this?" Mayumi Saegusa watched Yunyi warily.
"Drink this glass of wine, then take your sisters upstairs to rest. Tomorrow morning, leave here and go back to the Saegusa Family. Then forget what happened today and act as though nothing happened." Yunyi pushed the glass toward Mayumi Saegusa.
Mayumi Saegusa stared blankly at the glass in front of her, emotions churning inside her.
Shock? Confusion? Helplessness? Absurdity? So many emotions mingled together, leaving her thoughts in utter turmoil.
The problem before them was so serious, yet Yunyi was proposing that they act as though nothing had happened! How could Mayumi Saegusa possibly agree to handle it that way?
She badly wanted to take out her terminal right then and tell her father everything that had happened today, everything that had happened here, so he could immediately make arrangements to respond. But Mayumi Saegusa didn't dare. She was afraid of provoking Yunyi and making the situation spiral out of control.
