Mayumi Saegusa's puzzlement didn't last long before Azusa Nakajo arrived and interrupted her.
Before they parted, Mayumi connected Yunyi's terminal to First High School's network so he could check the map himself. After giving him a few more reminders, she left with Azusa Nakajo.
After seeing the two of them off, Yunyi headed to the office to complete his enrollment paperwork, while Tatsuya Shiba went to the auditorium for the entrance ceremony.
What Yunyi hadn't expected was for enrollment at a magic high school to be so complicated. By the time all the paperwork was done, the entrance ceremony in the main auditorium had long since ended.
"Honestly, if I keep getting separated from the main group like this, it'll be hard to blend back in." Watching the students return to the school building one after another, Yunyi scratched his head with a wry smile.
He hadn't come to First High School to study. He had a purpose in mind. For now, though, the opportunity to act hadn't arrived. All he could do was hold his position.

After sorting out his plans, Yunyi headed for his classroom.
First-year Class E. This is it, Yunyi thought, looking at the sign on the door.
As expected, as soon as Yunyi entered the classroom, he saw Tatsuya Shiba, Erika Chiba, and the others already gathered together.
At the same time, Tatsuya Shiba caught sight of Yunyi entering the classroom out of the corner of his eye.
"Hey, looks like we're in the same class, Tatsuya Shiba." Yunyi put on a friendly face and greeted him.

"What's this? Shiba, do you know him?" The outgoing Erika Chiba immediately asked.
"Yeah, we met once earlier. I didn't see him at the entrance ceremony, so I thought he was a Course 1 Student," Tatsuya Shiba said.
"Haha, you're giving me too much credit, Shiba! I'm just an ordinary guy. My relatives were determined to get me into the magic course, so they went to great lengths to send me to First High School. Anyway, I hope we'll get along for the next three years." Yunyi had walked close enough to hear Tatsuya Shiba and immediately joined the conversation with a laugh.

After saying goodbye to the others, Yunyi got into the car that had come to pick him up.
As soon as the car started, the driver couldn't wait to ask, "Second Lieutenant Yun, how did it go?"
"It was just the entrance ceremony. What could have happened? Still, I did gain something. Besides, Japan's current assessment method overlooks a lot of talented people. I'll write a report on that and send it to my old man."
"Yes, sir. Please be careful while you're undercover, Second Lieutenant. Also, the custom CAD made for you has been delivered to your home. It's the latest model."

Seeing that Yunyi had no intention of continuing the conversation, the driver could only fall silent. As the contact who had gone undercover alongside Yunyi, the driver really did have troubles he couldn't voice.

Yunyi was sleeping soundly with his head on his desk when someone unceremoniously pushed him awake.
"Hey, Liu Yunyi, it's already noon! Time to eat!" Erika Chiba looked helplessly at the classmate who had slept from the moment he entered the classroom until lunch break.
Yunyi got up and stretched, looking full of energy. "Let's go eat!"

But when Miyuki appeared, the annoying flies following her made everyone's already less-than-pleasant mood even worse.
"Hey! Miyuki just wants to go home with her brother! What gives you guys the right to stand in her way?"
Yunyi, who had been approaching at a leisurely pace, stopped the moment he heard Erika's words. He stood where he was, ready to watch the show.
"Stand in her way? We just have something to discuss with Shiba!" Shun Morisaki, the leader of the Course 1 Students, immediately retorted. But no matter how one heard it, his excuse sounded unconvincing.
"That's right, we just have something we want to discuss with Shiba! Besides, we're classmates. Who are you people? Why are you stopping us from developing a relationship with our classmate?"
