Seeing what Yunyi had done, Mayumi Saegusa was practically beside herself with anger!
Others might not have seen through his identity, but how could Mayumi Saegusa, who knew the truth, have failed to guess? What she had said earlier was only meant to give both sides a way out. Yunyi could have followed her lead and offered a few polite words, and they could have let him take the man away.
Instead, Yunyi had chopped off one of Hajime Tsukasa's arms and offered that as an explanation!? That was no explanation. It was a show of force!
Katsuto Jumonji's face darkened the moment Hajime Tsukasa's arm was severed. He, too, could see that Yunyi paid no attention to the standoff before him. As head of the Jumonji Family, he naturally had no wish to put up with such a threat.
Just as he was about to speak, Mayumi Saegusa gave his sleeve a gentle tug and whispered so that only the two of them could hear, "Jumonji-kun, it's best not to come into conflict with this man. I don't think he's ordinary."
Katsuto Jumonji nodded slightly at Mayumi Saegusa's words. In truth, he could tell for himself that Yunyi was no ordinary man. He didn't mind Yunyi taking Hajime Tsukasa away, but he was worried that if Yunyi suddenly attacked them, it would be troublesome.
Holding Hajime Tsukasa in one hand, Yunyi turned to look at Miyuki Shiba, who stood behind Tatsuya Shiba.
"Beautiful miss, could I ask you to use your magic to seal this rat's wound? I still have a use for him, so I can't let him die just yet."
Miyuki Shiba was taken aback when he suddenly addressed her. She looked up at her brother, and only after Tatsuya Shiba nodded did she operate her CAD and use magic to seal Hajime Tsukasa's continuously bleeding wound.
"Well then, everyone, this is where we part." Yunyi smiled at the group, then picked up Hajime Tsukasa and prepared to leave.
As he passed Tatsuya Shiba, however, he said in a voice only the three of them could hear, "Tatsuya Yotsuba, Miyuki Yotsuba, we'll see each other again very soon."
At his words, Tatsuya Shiba's face darkened terribly, while Miyuki Shiba, whom he was shielding behind him, went pale with shock.
Tatsuya Shiba wanted to stop Yunyi from leaving, but no matter how he tried, he couldn't activate his magic. He clenched his fists, desperately suppressing the emotions surging within him.
Only after Yunyi left did Mayumi Saegusa quietly breathe a sigh of relief. Just then, however, Katsuto Jumonji turned his gaze on her.
"Saegusa, what do you make of that man?"
Katsuto Jumonji's question startled Mayumi Saegusa a little, but her expression didn't change.
"I don't know either, but it looked like he wasn't hostile toward us?" Mayumi Saegusa ventured.
"I agree with the president. He was probably only here for Blanche's branch chief," Takeaki Kirihara said from the side.
"Shiba, what do you think?" Katsuto Jumonji then asked Tatsuya Shiba.
Tatsuya Shiba pondered for a moment before nodding.
In his view, since the man could reveal his and Miyuki's true identities, he certainly wasn't ordinary. Tatsuya even suspected that he was an insider from the Yotsuba Family. Otherwise, how could his and Miyuki's identities have been exposed so easily?
"I think we should keep a closer eye on him. I'll make this known within the Ten Master Clans. Saegusa, you'll join me," Katsuto Jumonji said.
He couldn't shake the feeling that there was something unusual about the man's identity, and he was uneasy about someone like that operating in Japan.
Mayumi Saegusa didn't refuse. In any case, Yunyi had concealed himself well, so there was no need to worry about him being exposed anytime soon. Still, what he had just done had displeased her, and she was now working out how to get back at him.
With the problem at the factory resolved, everyone prepared to leave.
Katsuto Jumonji was left to handle the aftermath and contact the police to deal with the scene. The others dispersed and went home. Everything else would be discussed and resolved at school the next day.
What had happened at First High School was not something information control could easily suppress. After all, many students from the Numbered Families attended the school.
The Saegusa Family and the Jumonji Family had been notified as soon as the terrorist attack on First High School happened. If the attack hadn't been put down so quickly, the reinforcements sent by both families would probably have arrived long ago.
Mayumi Saegusa had barely returned home when Koichi Saegusa summoned her and asked about what had happened that day. When he learned that someone had taken Blanche's branch chief away, he immediately pressed her for information.
Mayumi Saegusa answered her father's questions carefully. Koichi Saegusa was her father, and Katsuto Jumonji's understanding of her couldn't compare to his. So she had to be even more careful when facing him.
"To think someone like that exists in Japan. That's truly troubling news. Mayumi, you should be careful for the time being as well. Now that the terrorists' base has been uprooted, the remnants might take some kind of retaliatory action."
Hearing her father's warning, Mayumi Saegusa softly acknowledged it.
If Father hadn't been born into the Ten Master Clans, he would probably have been a gentle father, Mayumi Saegusa thought.
Meanwhile, after Yunyi returned home, he didn't rush to interrogate Hajime Tsukasa. Instead, he tossed him straight into the basement.
Before the mansion had been handed over to him, it had been extensively remodeled according to his wishes. The basement, in particular, was a place he had specially remodeled for interrogation.
It wasn't a torture chamber in the usual sense. Instead, all the walls around it were covered in a special material. Its surface was as bright and reflective as a mirror, so standing before it was just like standing in front of one. It also had the special property of reflecting sound waves. In an enclosed space like this, even the sound of footsteps would be reflected by the surrounding walls.
Although the sound would eventually fade, the series of echoes it produced before disappearing was more than an ordinary person could bear! The only way to prevent that was to remain absolutely silent. And that was another kind of torture!
After tossing Hajime Tsukasa into the basement, Yunyi went to wash up. He had been busy for half the day and needed to relax too.
But just as he lay down and prepared to sleep, Mayumi Saegusa called.
Yunyi raised an eyebrow and answered the phone in puzzlement.
"Hello, what's-"
Before Yunyi could finish, however, he heard Mayumi Saegusa say angrily, "I'm right outside your house! Open the door!"
