As long as he stayed far enough away from the S-rank magicians, no one could stop him if he wanted to leave.
Baifeng Uesugi activated his flight magic and soared into the air, flying straight away from the area. Before he left, though, he made sure to give Pulisi the standard international gesture.
Pulisi saw it from afar and flew into a rage. He pulled out a phone, dialed a number, and said,
"He's headed your way. Stop him."
He hung up immediately after speaking.
"Baifeng Uesugi, do you think you've escaped? Not necessarily. The real show is yet to come."
"Let's go."
Pulisi led the other four S-rank magicians and the survivors in the direction Baifeng Uesugi had flown.
After flying for about ten minutes, Baifeng Uesugi reached a plain. Suddenly, his body staggered, and he dropped considerably lower in the air.
"The gravity has changed. Looks like there are enemies here."
As soon as Baifeng Uesugi finished speaking, four unfamiliar S-rank magicians appeared before him.
"Baifeng Uesugi, we've been waiting for you."
"Oh, so this is Pulisi's backup plan?"
One of them must be a gravity magician. If I want to leave, I can't use flight magic, so I'll have to force my way out.

Toris, however, had taken advantage of Baifeng Uesugi's difficulty moving to put some distance between them.

To test his theory, Baifeng Uesugi ran at full speed in the opposite direction from Toris, while repeatedly trying to use flight magic.
"Toris, stay close to him."
Seeing this, Yakos realized that Baifeng Uesugi had already more or less figured out the weakness in Toris's magic and hurriedly called out a warning.
Toris quickly moved in response, keeping a distance of two hundred meters from Baifeng Uesugi.
Looks like the effective range is around two hundred meters. Gravity is strongest within that distance, and the farther out it goes, the weaker the effect.
His earlier theory had been confirmed, and he kept trying to think of a solution.
He began using his advantage in speed to attack the four of them repeatedly.
Although he was constantly acting under Toris's increased gravity, the effects of his buff magic more or less canceled it out.
But whenever he was about to seriously injure one of the four, Toris would increase the gravity, slowing Baifeng Uesugi's attack and saving the person about to be seriously injured.
These people could clearly have taken the opportunity to injure Baifeng Uesugi whenever the gravity was increased, but they didn't. They were merely keeping him occupied.
Baifeng Uesugi instantly understood that they were stalling for time, waiting for Pulisi to arrive.
All they had to do was protect Toris while keeping Baifeng Uesugi occupied and preventing him from escaping on the ground.
Once Pulisi and his four companions arrived, eleven S-rank magicians taking down Baifeng Uesugi would be a foregone conclusion.

Although only his lower body was still frozen, that was enough. As long as, while Toris was forcibly breaking out of the Ice Sealing Spell,
he could finish Toris off, it would be enough. Even increasing the gravity wouldn't help him.
Seeing this, two of the other three rushed at Baifeng Uesugi, hoping to attack him to save Toris, while the remaining one headed straight for Toris to help him break free of the Ice Sealing Spell.

"Ice Cone Spell."
"Flame Explosion Spell."
He cast two spells instantly, sending them straight at the two charging toward him.

Two screams rang out. The three who had tried to attack him to save Toris were instantly gravely injured by Baifeng Uesugi.
The two fell to the ground, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths. Clearly, they were injured.

(Some of you may be wondering why getting hit by one spell immediately caused such serious injuries. Besides, in the original anime, in the episode when the school competition ended, didn't Tatsuya Shiba also get instantly GG'd on the spot after being hit by one of Ichijo's spells while completely off guard?)
"Now there are only two of you left."
Baifeng Uesugi turned to look at Toris, who had already been freed, and spoke.

Once the increased gravity was gone, Baifeng Uesugi gasped for breath.
