The Unforgiven from Shinigami
Five o'clock in the morning.
The sky was a deep blue, without a trace of white.
The moment her wooden clogs touched the roof, her legs, encased in gray stockings, unleashed tremendous power, propelling her like an arrow into the Tenth Division's barracks.
She stood firmly at the doorway, the food box in her hand as steady as a mountain, without the slightest wobbling, and stepped forward to open the sliding door.
Nemu Kurotsuchi saw Shiraishi sleeping by the bedside, and also saw Isane- on sleeping in bed.
She blinked. Was this how Isane took care of Shiraishi?
If it weren't Mayuri Lady Mayuri needing help with the creation of Modified Soul last night, she wouldn't have let Isane stay here to take care of her.
A chill crept onto her indifferent expression as she took off her wooden clogs and stepped onto the tatami mat.
"Hmm," Shiraishi opened his eyes, having slept even more soundly than before during his nap, " Nemu, you're here."
"Um."
She nodded, her deep green eyes fixed on Isane on the bed, the coldness still lingering on her face.
Shiraishi stood up and said, "Be quiet. She took care of me for most of the night and just fell asleep. Don't wake her."
"Oh." Nemu Kurotsuchi nodded, her expression returning to its usual indifference. She picked up the food box and said gently, "Let's have breakfast."
You're here a little early today.
Shiraishi glanced out the window, feeling that it wasn't time to get up yet, as the sun's rays were nowhere to be seen.
Nemu Kurotsuchi replied, "I was worried about your health, so I came early."
I'm sorry I worried you.
Shiraishi reached out and touched her head.
She really enjoyed the physical contact; her eyes were slightly narrowed, like a aloof cat being petted and enjoying it.
After touching it for a few moments, Shiraishi turned his gaze to the food box. Having missed a meal last night, he was naturally hungry when he smelled the aroma wafting from the cracks in the food box.
Seeing this in her Nemu Kurotsuchi placed the food box beside the alcove, opened it, and took out a bowl of crab porridge. The shell had already been removed, leaving only the crab meat.
Another plate of deep-fried crab roe was brought out, sprinkled with cumin, and its aroma was irresistible.
A whole plate full of shelled lobster meat and eel.
After arranging these things, she began cleaning the house, wiping every spot clean with a rag.
When she mops the floor, she always holds the rag on the ground with both hands, bends her waist low, sticks out her buttocks, and wears gray stockings on her two slender legs.
The pose looked exceptionally alluring.
At breakfast, Shiraishi was satisfied with both his taste buds and his eyes. He picked up a tissue to wipe his mouth, and the sun was already shining through the window.
He took out a map of the Seireitei, located District Seven, and examined its location closely. " Nemu, lunch isn't necessary today."
Nemu Kurotsuchi tilted her head and asked, "Are we still going on Unohana?"
"Well, I'm not that easy to give up."
Shiraishi smiled.
Nemu Kurotsuchi didn't say anything; she rarely refused Shiraishi's decisions, a habit she had developed before.
Silently tidying up the table, she picked up the food box and suddenly caught a glimpse of Shiraishi's profile.
Shiraishi didn't avoid it. " Nemu, what are you doing?"
"Stamp it," she replied, though she wasn't as confident as she appeared, so she immediately walked out.
Shiraishi touched his cheek, wondering if the girl was jealous.
After thinking it over, he decided to mention Unohana less often in front of Nemu in the future.
Just because everyone knows something doesn't mean we have to keep bringing it up and nagging about it.
For example, Kūkaku is well aware that he is having affairs in Seireitei, but he won't be foolish enough to keep praising Soi Fon and Nemu in front of Kūkaku.
Even the most magnanimous person like Kūkaku wouldn't be able to tolerate that.
Shiraishi closed the diagram of the Seireitei, glanced at Isane Kotetsu was sleeping soundly on the bed, and chose not to wake her.
It's okay to slack off once in a while.
He stood up, tucked the knife into his waistband, went to the door, put on his straw sandals, and with a Steel Tempest, headed towards the District Seven.
We didn't agree on a specific location yesterday, just the place with the waterfall in the District Seven.
He used his Steel Tempest circle around and stopped on the dirt road, where the hill in front of him was covered with green grass.
Higher up in the distance, pine forests stretch out, and a waterfall cascades down from the mountainside.
It has a milky white color.
The deserted house sits on the lawn at the foot of the mountain.
Shiraishi stepped onto the lawn, sprayed herself with perfume, found a good spot to lie down, put her hands behind her head, looked at the azure sky, and could hear the sound of rushing water in the wind.
My mind became peaceful.
He released a slight amount of his Reiatsu, floating above the Seireitei.
Before long, shadows covered his face, and his blue clothes and cloud patterns created a false sky.
He still watched with great interest.
How did you sleep last night?
The sky obscured his vision, so he couldn't see Retsu Unohana's expression, but he could glean a hint of schadenfreude from her voice. "Sleeping very well."
He retorted, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Isane; she's still lying in my bed."
Retsu Unohana's smile froze. She wanted this kid to remember Isane's kindness, but she never expected that their relationship would progress so quickly.
Jump straight onto the bed?
Isane still too young!
She slowly opened her narrowed eyes. The autumn wind brushed her shoulders, causing a few strands of her hair to flutter. Her expression was gloomy, like a sky shrouded in dark clouds.
Birds on the high mountain cried out in alarm and flew away from the branches, creating a spectacular sight.
Are you angry?
Shiraishi asked a question.
The chilling killing intent lingered on his skin, urging him to draw his sword.
He tolerated it.
"Hoo," Retsu Unohana tilted her head back and exhaled heavily, as if she wanted to exhale the rising killing intent in her heart along with this breath into the sky, " Isane is a good girl."
Shiraishi added, "But you're making such a good girl cry."
"..."
Retsu Unohana fell silent.
After a long while, so long that Shiraishi thought she wouldn't reply and was about to find another topic, she suddenly squatted down.
The illusory sky drew closer, its oppressive force even stronger than the previous killing intent.
Shiraishi's face was solemn, his gaze seemingly trying to pierce through this false sky in search of the truth.
"You're right, and I have no right to criticize you."
Retsu Unohana's face showed a rare bitterness. She didn't regret her decision, nor could she deceive herself into thinking she didn't care about Isane's feelings. "I hope you can treat her well in the future."
"If you care about her so much, then don't go and die."
Shiraishi's rant.
The bitterness on Retsu Unohana's face vanished, and even though Shiraishi below couldn't see it, she still habitually revealed that gentle smile, "You don't understand, fighting is everything to me."
"I know a bit about Zaraki. He's strong and crazy, but I don't think he needs you to sacrifice your life."
He's the type who can become stronger even without much effort, as long as he has a goal.
"You haven't seen the real him. If you had, you would understand what a waste it is to let someone like him sleep."
Retsu Unohana started speaking, then realized she'd said too much and didn't want to continue the conversation. She stood up. "Let's not talk about that. Aren't you going for a walk today?"
"Tsk, trying to change the subject. Fine, with such a beautiful view, I won't say anything that spoils the mood."
Shiraishi stood up, took her left hand, and began to walk up the mountain.
