Thump!

Kaname Tōsen slammed his right fist on the metal control panel, his face full of frustration. "Damn it!"

"Self-destruction means it's not just that the target Hollowfication, but that it has entered the final stage of transfer, and yet it was killed by Quincy."

At this point, his anger could not be quelled.

The Hollowfication Experiment had been going on for a long time without much progress, until they created White using the remains of Kaien Shiba.

It has the ability to make its target Hollowfication, but the toxicity of this Hollowfication is so strong that ordinary souls, and even members of the Gotei 13, cannot withstand it.

After finally achieving results that met expectations, White used them on Quincy.

"Well, getting angry won't help. I should think about how to report to Captain Aizen."

Gin Ichimaru said with a smile, "I can guess that the other person won't care about this failure at all. The problem is that Kaname Tōsen cares a lot."

He doesn't mind bothering the other person with this kind of question.

Just report the truth; I won't shift the blame for my mistakes onto you.

With Kaname Tōsen said something and turned to walk out the door without staying any longer.

As subordinates of Aizen, the two did not have a good relationship; in fact, it was difficult to find anyone likable about Gin Ichimaru.

Even with his smiling face, he couldn't hide the twisted malice in his heart.

Kaname Tōsen remained vigilant, waiting for the day he would bare his fangs at Lord Aizen, at which point he would immediately draw his sword and eliminate him.

"Then I'll have to trouble you~" Gin Ichimaru chuckled.

Fifth Division District, Team Barracks.

On the last day of spring, the sun already had the heat of early summer, and the cicadas began to chirp in the trees.

The shadows of the trees Aizen sat quietly by the window, flipping through a book called the Republic, passing the time in his leisure.

He dislikes being idle and prefers to fill all his time with official duties of the Fifth Division, Hollowfication Experiment, and occasionally intervenes in the Seireitei's affairs.

For example, this time, in order to cover up the fact that he let Oda Nobunaga go, he deliberately released false information and shifted the blame for letting him go to Yoruichi Shihōin.

Then, he didn't pay much attention to it.

On the one hand, he wasn't very interested in playing these kinds of power games; on the other hand, he didn't need to push it.

The Tsunayashiro Clan will have someone to help push things through.

Because he revealed that Kūkaku Shiba and Yoruichi Shihōin were on good terms.

Recently, Kūkaku Shiba has been giving the Tsunayashiro Clan a lot of headaches, as they don't mind fabricating evidence and plotting against them.

If successful, Aizen will be extricated from the Oda Nobunaga affair.

If we fail, then let the Tsunayashiro Clan take the blame.

Aizen had already planned everything out, and had scheduled all the things he needed to do next month.

He just needed to follow the schedule step by step, and everything would proceed as he expected, without any major setbacks.

"Huh?" He stopped turning the pages, closed the book, and a gentle smile appeared on his face. "Yao, what brings you here?"

From the moment he uttered the first word, Kaname Tōsen was already standing under the tree, his face full of guilt, saying, "I'm sorry, Lord Aizen, White failed."

"Oh." Aizen replied softly. All that effort he put into planning and plotting the murder of Kaien Shiba was for the purpose of conducting Hollowfication Experiment.

This caused chaos in the Seireitei, and also served to cover up Kaname Tōsen's experiments in the World of the Living.

But the experiment failed.

He felt no anger at all and laughed, "No need for that expression. Why did you fail this time?"

"Here's what happened..." Kaname Tōsen give a detailed account of what had occurred in the World of the Living, then concluded with a look of regret, "I should have dealt with Isshin Shiba as soon as possible."

"You don't need to worry about it," Aizen comforted him, smiling broadly. "Although it deviates from the original goal, you could also say it surpasses it."

"A Hollow modified from Shinigami's body, yet deliberately choosing the Quincy, whom he is most incompatible with—don't you find that interesting?"

Aizen paused for a moment, then said, "I remember there's Quincy near Naruki City, in Karakura Town, I think their surname is Ishida?"

Kaname Tōsen and said, "I don't know much about these things. Should we monitor them?"

"Hmm, I'm very curious to see what will happen next."

Aizen always shows extraordinary enthusiasm for things that are beyond his expectations.

Kaname Tōsen and said, "I'll go arrange it right away."

"Go."

Aizen smiled and said something, watching him disappear into the courtyard, then lowered his head and continued flipping through the book.

The sound of cicadas made the place very quiet.

This silence didn't last long; it was quickly broken by a light, airy voice.

" Lord Aizen ~"

Aizen his book; it seemed he wouldn't be able to read in peace today. He looked up and asked, " Hinamori, is something the matter?"

From outside the courtyard, a cute girl with a bun hairstyle, who looked to be about sixteen years old, ran over, carrying a wooden bucket that was half her height.

Thump, the wooden bucket landed in front of the window frame, splashing out a little cool water, and the ice cubes collided with each other, making a crisp sound.

Momo Hinamori straightened up, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and said with a grin, " Lord Aizen, these are watermelons from my garden. Would you like to try some?"

Her big, bright eyes were filled with anticipation.

Her smile was like sunshine.

Aizen tossed the book onto the table and said gently, "Alright, this weather is perfect for eating watermelon."

Momo Hinamori rolled up her sleeves, revealing a section of her fair arm, dipped it into the cool water, grabbed a green watermelon vine that resembled a pig's tail, and lifted a large watermelon out. "Hehe, I'll go cut it."

"Leave it to me." Aizen took the watermelon, turned around and walked to the desk in the study, moved the books that were in the way, and placed the watermelon on it.

With no daggers on either side, Aizen drew Kyōka Suigetsu and split the watermelon in half, then cut it into twelve slices.

He grabbed two slices of watermelon, returned to the window, and handed one slice up.

" Captain Aizen, thank you," Momo Hinamori's eyes shone as she presented the watermelon with both hands. This watermelon was personally cut for her by Captain Aizen!

"If anyone should be thanking someone, it should be me thanking you," Aizen said with a smile, taking a bite. Sweet juice overflowed, and the flesh was refreshing. "So sweet."

"Hehehe, not to brag, but the watermelons from my family are the sweetest and best-tasting in all of Junrinan. Hitsugaya loves them and is also good at spitting out the seeds, pfft pfft pfft."

Momo Hinamori chirped away like a tireless lark, her chatter blending with the cicadas in the trees, yet it never became annoying.

Aizen's state of mind became even calmer and more relaxed than when he was alone. He had originally intended to use the trio to conduct Hollowfication Experiment.

However, during their time together, Momo Hinamori made him feel a long-lost sense of relaxation, and the thought of using her disappeared. He even let Renji Abarai and Izuru Kira go.

He didn't want the sun to be shrouded in clouds and lose its brilliance.

At least, that's the case for now.

Aizen copied her, spitting out watermelon seeds. Before the sweetness had even faded from his mouth, an urgent banging sound echoed in the sky.
