Shinigami the Unforgiven, Chapter 4: The Hollows Attack, You Idiot...
Rukia clenched her fists. She felt more and more that the boy in front of her not only resembled Lord Kaien in appearance, but also in personality.
They are eager to help others but don't readily listen to advice from others.
"Okay, just don't die in there."
Rukia no longer insists on her own beliefs.
"Hmm," Ichigo Kurosaki nodded, quickly wrote on the pen, and held it high.
"Very well, since you're so sincere, I'll play along to the end, lest people laugh at Zuellni for being so incompetent."
Tatsuki Arisawa's clear voice came from the loudspeaker, "I will shoot you handcuffs. Put them on, attach the hook in the middle, and the rope will automatically retract."
That woman can't come, and that moving lion doll must stay where it is.
As soon as he finished speaking, Ichigo Kurosaki spotted a black iron hook approaching them. He grabbed it with one hand, and silver handcuffs were attached to it.
Ichigo Kurosaki hung the iron hook on the railing, then removed the handcuffs and put them on, sealing the flow of Spiritual Power.
He clenched his Riot Games, feeling a little nervous, but this was the only way to resolve the situation peacefully.
" Rukia, you wait here. Don't barge in until I show myself."
Ichigo Kurosaki could allow himself to take risks, but he didn't want his companions to take risks with him. He picked up the iron hook and hung it in the middle.
The rope tied to the end of the iron hook suddenly retracted.
"Waaah."
Ichigo Kurosaki shouted and rapidly moved closer to Zuellni. At close range, the sheer size of Steel Shell City became even more apparent.
The thick pipes require at least a dozen people to encircle them, intersecting at the bottom to form a breathtaking steel forest.
Ichigo Kurosaki was led by ropes to a small entrance, where he slammed against a mat laid out against the wall and staggered a few steps.
One person reached out and grabbed him, "Hey, are you still standing?"
"Yes, it's nothing."
Ichigo Kurosaki shook his head as the handcuffs slipped from the crossbow hooks. He looked around; the walls and ceiling had a metallic sheen, and a blinding white light illuminated the passageway.
A girl with short, dark blue hair stood in front of him, seemingly around the same age, wearing a black T-shirt and brown trousers.
Her brows lacked the softness of a young girl, instead possessing a touch of heroism. "That's good. I'll have someone take you to see Mayor Inoue. You can tell him the details."
With the Shinigami wearing the Spiritual Power handcuffs, the danger is greatly reduced, so there's no need for her to accompany him personally.
As the vice-captain of the Zuellni Guard, she had to stay on the front lines to prevent any potential accidents.
"Okay." Ichigo Kurosaki swallowed the words of advice he had intended to say and followed the other person.
The passageway is very long.
The man didn't speak and silently led the way.
Ichigo Kurosaki wasn't the talkative type, and he pondered repeatedly how to persuade the mayor.
Taking the elevator down to the ground, you are greeted by buildings made of reinforced concrete, mostly a dozen stories high, which, under the sunlight, resemble a city from a pre-collapsed era.
Ichigo Kurosaki leaned against the window, watching the greenery planted on both sides of the road, women walking small dogs, and children laughing and running around.
The peaceful scene brought a smile to his face.
No wonder my cousin Kūkaku always says she feels uncomfortable when she comes back from shopping with such a warm atmosphere.
That person's rude personality was completely out of place in the warm and cozy scene before him.
Thinking of his cousin, he couldn't help but wonder if Shiraishi and Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto were still alive after all these years.
How strong is Captain Shinigami?
Kūkaku said that she hadn't even reached half of Shiraishi's level.
Many thoughts raced through Ichigo Kurosaki's mind.
The car drove into the mayor's residence.
This place is no different from any other building, except for the addition of a lawn and a hot spring with a fountain.
The driver turned his head and said, "You can get off now."
"Oh."
Ichigo Kurosaki opened the car door.
Outside is a four-story rectangular building with four steps leading up to it, and the main entrance is a glass door.
"Yay! I'm here."
At the top of the steps, a girl with long brown hair waved. She was beautiful and had a sweet smile, like the sun dispelling the dark clouds.
Ichigo Kurosaki paused slightly, recalling his mother Masaki's smile, which was also so sunny. He stepped forward and said, "Hello, my name is Ichigo Kurosaki."
"Hello, my name is Orihime Inoue."
She bowed slightly, then smiled and said, "I've heard about your situation from Tatsuki. I know how to use the black box. My brother sent me to pick you up."
"Really? I'm relieved."
"Why?"
Ichigo Kurosaki replied with a smile, "Your brother must be a good person to have raised such a wonderful girl like you."
Orihime Inoue blinked, a sudden thought flashing through her mind: a fake prince using sweet words to deceive an innocent girl, proposing marriage, then murdering her brother and seizing the family fortune. "Ah, no, I absolutely won't let my brother be in danger!"
Ichigo Kurosaki, somewhat puzzled, "Is someone trying to kill your brother?"
Please don't talk to me.
Orihime Inoue crossed her arms, indicating that she wouldn't be deceived by sweet talk, even though the other person was indeed a little bit handsome.
If you add a mustache to your nose, or grow an afro, or have two round antennas on the top of your head.
"Pfft." She covered her mouth with her hand. He was too handsome. It was the first time she had ever seen a man whose looks were second only to her brother.
"??"
Ichigo Kurosaki retracted his previous thought, believing the other person had something wrong with their head.
Orihime Inoue led him to an office on the third floor, knocked on the door, and said, "Brother, I've brought the person."
"Come in."
"Hi." Orihime Inoue pushed open the door and entered. The room was spacious and had a huge floor-to-ceiling window.
Sora Inoue, who appeared to be in his early thirties and was dressed in a suit, sat in a chair and said with a serious expression, "Regarding this black box, please explain, Shinigami."
Upon seeing the Garganta Device on the table, Ichigo Kurosaki said, "That's the Garganta Device that Kisuke Urahara made to bring back Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and Shiraishi."
Sora Inoue asked with some surprise, " Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto... the legendary leader of the Shinigami, is he still alive?"
Ichigo Kurosaki and said, "I don't know. I only know that this can open the Garganta. As for whether they are alive, I'm not sure."
Sora Inoue tapped his fingers on the table, lost in thought.
"Mayor Inoue, this is a treasure we acquired at the cost of many precious minerals. How can we give it to him just because of a brat's words!"
"What if it's a powerful weapon?" "That possibility cannot be ruled out."
The other three members of parliament then spoke up.
Sora Inoue was still thinking.
Steel Shell City bring a sense of security, but also indirectly create barriers; a city is like a country.
People have become less concerned about the world and only think about the safety of their own little corner of the world.
"Mayor Inoue, I'm telling the truth. If we can bring them back, humanity might have a way to fight against the King of Heaven, Aizen."
The moment the name was uttered, the expressions of everyone in the hall changed; it was as if it possessed a magical power that instilled fear in people.
Beep beep, the alarm on the table lit up. "Mayor Inoue, a swarm of Hollows is attacking from ahead."
