The Shinigami in the Unforgiven, Chapter 40: I'm Here to Replace You Don Kanonji is not my real name, but a code name to conceal my identity.
It doesn't really have any effect.
But Don Kanonji loved this code name. His childhood dream was to become an actor and entertain the audience on a black-and-white television with his own words.
This wish, however, was thwarted.
When God created the Divine Realm, He selected those who were not destined to die from the lower realms.
He was fortunate enough to be included, but unfortunately his parents were left behind and most likely died in the conflict between the two worlds.
To be honest, his parents weren't responsible people; he had to think about how to survive each day when he was only three or four years old.
While Don Kanonji felt some sadness at their deaths, it didn't give rise to any desire for revenge.
What truly inspired his desire to rebel against Aizen was that the work in the Divine Realm didn't involve TV stars or those kinds of erotic picture books.
Not only that, in the Divine Realm, even finding love is like searching for wild Kuma all over Japan – it's not just a rare occurrence, it's practically nonexistent.
God does not forbid people from falling in love, but He assigns jobs to men and women.
The afternoon club activities were also between men and men, and women and women.
After the club activities ended, everyone went home to sleep on time.
He didn't even see a woman's face all day, let alone fall in love.
To hell with the gods!
"Thank God for providing us with delicious food."
At Don Kanonji, people clasped their hands together and prayed to the bronze statue in the center of the dining table.
The bronze statue depicts a very young man with a smile on his face, as if he has everything in the world under his control.
He is a god, Aizen.
Everyone should praise Him and pray to Him in their daily lives.
Meals were no exception; Don Kanonji always cursed the gods in his heart while praising them aloud.
It is said that disrespect will incur divine punishment.
Over the years, he hadn't seen God do anything, so he lowered his head and began to eat.
After a long day of street sweeping, dinner was quite lavish: a large grilled steak, a big salad of fruits and vegetables, and spaghetti bolognese.
People can choose to pair their drinks with alcohol or beverages; that's the only option they have.
The three daily meals were determined by the Round Table of the divine commander, distributed from the Pantheon to the church, and arranged by designated priests.
It is worth mentioning that the priests are not fixed, but rotated monthly, and are drawn from the populace to serve in these positions.
Being selected is a blessing from God, a job that many people envy.
I don't envy the Don Kanonji.
He chewed his food quietly, trying to avoid making a sound; everyone in the cafeteria did the same, maintaining an eerie silence.
After finishing all his food, he wiped his mouth, picked up his plate, left the table, went to the sink, and washed the plate and cutlery clean.
Empty wine bottles are placed in recycling bins.
Having done all that, he stretched and strode out of the oppressive cafeteria. "Phew, time to head to the club area, Luko."
"Um."
Luko gave a simple response. He was handsome with short silver hair, 1.85 meters tall, not particularly strong, and quiet. He didn't know many people in his own club.
The relationship between Don Kanonji and this person was very good, which was partly due to his ulterior motives.
His task was to understand a person's relationships and remember their personality.
The two were members of the rock music club and went to a rock music class together for fun. They stayed until 8 p. m., when the club activity ended, and then went home together.
They are neighbors.
This is also the reason why Don Kanonji approached the other party.
See you tomorrow, Luko.
"Okay, see you tomorrow, Tang." Luko replied simply, turned the doorknob, and went inside.
Since there are no thieves in the Divine Realm, there's no need to lock the doors.
Don Kanonji opened the door and pressed the switch next to it.
The orange crystal chandelier lit up, its light illuminating the luxurious living room and the gilded tables and chairs, where an uninvited guest appeared.
His face and height are exactly the same as Luko's.
Don Kanonji rubbed her eyes and asked in confusion, " Luko, when did you learn the ability to teleport?"
"I am not Luko, Don Kanonji, close the door first."
Shiraishi, disguised as an older man, replied.
Don Kanonji realized what was happening, and an excited expression appeared on her face.
He quickly closed the door and excitedly ran forward, saying, "Mr. Urahara sent you? That's great! This frustrating life is finally over! What's your name?"
He replied gently, "My name is Shiraishi. Please don't be so agitated. Is Luko the person I'm supposed to replace?"
"Yeah, his full Luko Vladimir. He's my next-door neighbor. He's quiet, doesn't socialize much, and his rock music is terrible."
Don Kanonji described Luko's personality traits as follows. "He has no particularly picky eating habits or clothing style; he is a very ordinary and quiet person."
He was recently assigned to work at the Pantheon, which means he's always in line, waiting for an opening.
"I've arrived, and the vacancy has been filled."
Shiraishi replied calmly.
These were all things that Kisuke Urahara and Mayuri Kurotsuchi were doing behind the scenes.
"You knocked him out and hid him in your basement. Do you think he can hide there?"
Shiraishi didn't want to kill anyone, but Kisuke Urahara suggested that, just to be on the safe side, they should kill the person who was taking her place.
He held a different view, regardless of whether it was just or not; he simply didn't want to do it that way.
"Of course, no problem."
Don Kanonji patted her chest and assured, "I'm confident I won't give myself away."
Shiraishi nodded, used the Steel Tempest to leave, and sneaked into the second floor through the open window.
Luko was in his bedroom on the second floor, watching the person enter through the window. Curiosity took over more than his desire to scream.
This is a peaceful Divine Realm, where thieves and robbers are impossible, so his attitude towards outsiders is one of curiosity.
Curious why the other person is so similar to you?
Why did you come into my house?
Luko asked, expressing his doubts.
Shiraishi listened to the voice and mimicked his tone, saying, "To replace you."
"?" Luko was stunned, unable to understand why.
Shiraishi had already circled around and knocked him unconscious, then carried him up and leaped back through the window to his home at Don Kanonji, heading straight for the basement on the first floor.
The interior was dimly lit, with four Spatial Transfer Stake stuck in the ground.
Don Kanonji handed over the hemp rope and cloth, saying, "Tie him up and gag him with the cloth to prevent him from making a sound."
"Um."
Shiraishi took the rope, quickly tied the man up, bound him tightly, gagged him with a cloth, and put him back on the ground.
He leaped out of the basement, closed the door, and asked, "What time do we get up tomorrow?"
"Get up at six, go to the cafeteria, and meet at the church at seven o'clock sharp, where the day's work will be assigned."
Don Kanonji explained the situation to him, "Go to bed promptly at nine o'clock every night."
"It's quite regular."
Shiraishi muttered a sarcastic remark, then glanced at the Aizen on the table, "Tsk, how narcissistic."
