Not long after leaving the Little Garden, Nami unsurprisingly fainted. (This is from the novel " Shinigami the Unforgiven," Chapter 11, " Five-Day Disease.")
Inside the ship's cabin.
"It might be due to the climate."
Vivi frowned slightly. This was the only reason she could give for Nami's sudden fever and unconsciousness. "Because the weather on the Grand Line changes very rapidly, many crew members encounter this situation."
"Although it's just a fever, it can become a life-threatening crisis if not handled carefully."
In a hurry, Vivi looked around at the people, "Which of you is a doctor?"
Luffy and Usopp both pointed at Nami, while Sanji turned to Sanji and asked, "Mr. Shiraishi, do you know anything about medicine?"
"No, Lie does understand those things, but I don't."
Shiraishi shook his head.
"It will be fine as long as you eat meat."
Luffy grinned and offered a solution, "Right, Sanji?"
"I can only make some food suitable for the patient," Sanji was much more reliable than Luffy, at least he knew that people are different, "But it can only have a restorative effect."
"During the voyage, I put a hundred times more effort into preparing food for Nami and Vivi, ensuring it included fresh meat and vegetables, as well as a special nutritional balance."
Sanji casually uttered a very offensive remark, "Any stale ingredients are given to you to eat."
Everyone should give it a try!
"In any case, as the cook on this ship, I have absolutely no problem with the nutritional balance of the dishes. However, as for the food for the patients, what they should eat for what illness, and what nutrients they need, is beyond my ability to determine."
The group argued incessantly about this issue.
"I'm fine."
Perhaps woken up by their noise, Nami sat up, holding a towel to her forehead in one hand and pointing to the cabinet next to her with the other.
" Vivi, there's a newspaper inside that I didn't show you before."
Following her instructions, Vivi took out a newspaper from the cabinet, her face suddenly changing, "What?!"
"What's wrong?" Luffy asked curiously.
Sanji asked with concern, "Is it about Alabasta?"
"Three hundred thousand of the King's troops defected to the rebels."
Vivi's expression was one of shock. "So it was 600,000 Kingdom troops and 400,000 rebel troops. Now the situation is completely reversed."
If they don't hurry back to Alabasta, the growing rebel army will launch a decisive war, and all of this will fall into Crocodile's trap.
"It seems the uprising in Alabasta has begun. This is a newspaper from three days ago. I'm sorry, even if you knew, the ship's speed couldn't be increased, so I'm hiding."
Nami face flushed, stood up, threw back the covers, and tried to appear strong, saying, " Luffy, you know what's going on, right?"
"Hmm, it looks serious."
Luffy nodded with a straight face.
"That's right, we can't linger here any longer." Nami stood up.
Usopp was still there saying, "You need to see a doctor!"
"This thermometer is broken; I couldn't possibly have a fever of 40 degrees Celsius."
Nami shook her head and stubbornly walked outside.
Luffy and his crew followed them outside.
In the room, only Vivi remained, clutching the newspaper tightly in her hand.
Their country is on the brink of collapse, millions of people are being manipulated by behind-the-scenes forces, and tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of casualties could erupt at any moment...
We must, we must go back quickly!
Go back and expose the true nature of that Seven Warlords of the Sea, and stop all of this...
Peng, Vivi pushed open the door and came out, drawing the attention of the entire Straw Hat Pirates.
Vivi said with a serious face, "I really didn't have the face to ask for anything since you let me on the ship, but my country is in an unprecedented crisis, and I must get back as soon as possible."
Shiraishi noticed that the Straw Hat Pirates members' expressions had all become serious.
"I beg you, send this ship to Alabasta at top speed!"
"Of course, isn't that what we agreed on?"
Nami blushed and smiled.
"Then let's go find an island with a doctor!"
Vivi's next words stunned Luffy and his Luffy, instantly shattering the frozen atmosphere on the Going Merry.
"Heal Nami as soon as possible, then proceed to Alabasta."
That's the ship's top speed!
"That's right," Luffy laughed heartily, "There's nothing faster than that!"
"Is this a good idea?" Usopp looked up at the blue-haired girl. "As a princess, shouldn't you be more worried about your millions of people?"
"Yes," Vivi said, spreading her hands in response to Usopp's pointed words, "That's why we need to get Nami quickly so we can continue our journey."
"I'm quite impressed with you, Vivi." Sanji smiled gently.
"What a spirit!" Zoro said with a smile.
A massive tornado connecting heaven and earth began to travel across the sea.
Everyone was amazed by Nami's timely adjustment, and Shiraishi decided to tell the truth, " Luffy, there's something I want you to know."
"What is it?" Luffy asked, turning around.
" Nami isn't simply a fever. I have a certain sensitivity to human life force; if she doesn't receive treatment within a few days, she will die."
Shiraishi spoke his mind truthfully.
"Huh?!" Luffy's eyes almost popped out of their sockets. "Is it... that serious?"
"Yes, it's that serious." Shiraishi nodded.
Amidst the wind and snow, the Going Merry.
The huge white mainsail, catching the wind, propelled the ship forward at great speed.
Since we've decided to see a doctor first, we can't proceed along the original route.
So Luffy and his crew don't actually know what sea they're in right now.
Fortunately, there's the Alabasta permanent pointer, so there's no fear of getting lost.
"Is this aimless searching just a matter of luck?" Luffy scratched his head, his mind in complete turmoil ever since he learned that Nami was going to die.
"It's not just luck," Vivi, now dressed in winter clothes, shook her head. "The snowstorm in the surrounding seas has lasted for a day and a night, which means there must be a winter island nearby."
"On the Grand Line, many islands exhibit the natural phenomenon of having only one season throughout the year."
We usually name them Spring Island, Summer Island, Autumn Island, Winter Island, etc., based on the season they represent.
Vivi, who knew the Grand Line best, continued to explain.
"And no matter what kind of island it is, there will be people living there, even if it's a winter island where it's snowy all year round."
Luffy suddenly realized, "I see. If we find that winter island, we can find the doctor."
Meanwhile, Zoro, who was at the top of the mast, put down his binoculars and asked the people on the deck with a puzzled look.
Have you ever seen someone who can stand on the surface of the sea?
"I can," Shiraishi replied truthfully.
Usopp retorted, "You're the exception, aren't you? It's impossible for just anyone to stand on the sea."
As the Going Merry continued forward, a court jester carrying a bow and arrows appeared before everyone's eyes, just as Zoro had said, he stood there on the sea.
"He has something under his feet."
Shiraishi pointed to the seawater beneath the other person's feet; if you looked closely, you would see a huge shadow below.
In other words, this court jester-like fellow wasn't standing on the surface of the sea, but rather on something in the sea.
"Well, a pirate ship?"
As the Going Merry approached, the court jester carrying a bow and arrow simply nodded calmly.
"An unfamiliar pirate flag. Probably a rookie, some nobody, who just entered the Grand Line."
While the opponent's assessment was largely correct, their analysis of their strength was insufficient.
"Consider this food for the adults; otherwise, they might eat something they're starving."
The court jester muttered nonsensical words to himself, then tapped his heel on the ground in a peculiar rhythm, clearly sending a coded message.
Splash--
As the sea surged, the court jester standing on the surface of the sea rose up, and a huge creature emerged from beneath his feet.
This is a submarine that looks like a watermelon.
The technology tree in this world is a mess, so anything can happen.
However, as the iron ship in front of them opened like a lotus flower, revealing numerous soldiers on its deck, the ship began to move.
"Hahaha, you ignorant bumpkin!"
The speaker was obese, ugly, with dark purple hair, a huge mouth, and a cylindrical tin plate attached to his chin. He was covered in plate armor and studs, and looked three parts human and seven parts monster.
"This is the Iron Bucket, a large underwater raiding Tin Tyrant!"
He took a vicious bite of the meat in his hand, even chewing the small knife skewered with meat to pieces in a few bites. His entire body was covered in metal studs, making him look like an iron barrel. The man, clad in a huge animal pelt, glanced at the people on the deck.
Are you planning to go to the Drum Kingdom?
"Take out the Log Pose or the permanent pointer."
However, upon seeing the bewildered expressions on Luffy and the others' faces, the ugly, fat man clicked his tongue.
No?
"If it weren't for that guy, I wouldn't be in this situation. Oh well!"
He waved his hand and announced loudly:
"You're unlucky to have run into the Bliking Pirates."
"It's pirate time! Your ships and treasure are all..."
Shiraishi turned and reminded them, "They might have a doctor."
Luffy's nonchalant expression suddenly changed, and even Zoro revealed a devilish look in his eyes. Despite his calm demeanor, he had been very concerned about Nami's health and safety throughout the day.
Zoro stepped forward and slashed down at the giant man who seemed to be the leader.
"Aaaaaah, I'm bleeding! I'm injured!"
The round, chubby guy, who had been slashed down by Zoro, screamed in panic.
In reality, with his iron-clad defenses and thick layer of fat cushioning his wounds, Zoro's strike would have been nothing more than a superficial injury. But clearly, this guy is not a qualified warrior.
Forget about scraping the bone to remove poison, he can't even maintain the most basic composure of not changing his expression.
"Shut your mouth, you guys, judging by your clothes, you're not an ordinary pirate crew."
Zoro's observation skills are still very sharp. The uniform clothing and weapons make them look like regular soldiers of a country, not a pirate crew.
Luffy and Sanji also joined the fray, storming into the submarine and routing the surging soldiers, quickly bringing the situation under control.
"You must have a doctor on your ship, right? One of my companions is sick and needs medical help. You wouldn't refuse, would you?"
Zoro spoke in a kind tone, rubbing his knife back and forth against the man's neck, as if to help shave.
"Do you even know who I am, kid?"
The man tried to be defiant, but Zoro's cold glare made him abandon the idea immediately. He said, "I know, it's just a doctor. I have a dedicated medical team; they can definitely cure your partner!"
With a knife to his neck, Wapol had no choice but to back down.
Soon, Wapol's professional team appeared, dressed in standard doctor's attire: protective suits, surgical caps, sterile masks, and Gum-Gum Hand.
They are indeed real doctors, and top medical personnel in the Drum Kingdom.
"Excuse me, sir."
A doctor wiped the sweat from his brow and explained humbly, "This young lady doesn't have a common fever or heatstroke; she was bitten by a bug called Kestia."
"What is that?"
Luffy looked completely bewildered; he'd never even heard of such a thing.
"Uh, it's a poisonous parasite. The wounds from their bites can quickly become infected, leading to symptoms like fever, dizziness, and weakness in the limbs."
The doctor paused for a moment, but his professional ethics compelled him to continue.
"This illness looks very similar to a regular fever and doesn't have any special symptoms, but it will kill you almost immediately after five days."
"Then hurry up and think of a way to save them! Aren't you doctors?!"
Luffy quickly grabbed his collar and roared.
" Luffy," Vivi stopped him, saying, "There should be a way to treat him, right?"
"No, how should I put it? This insect should have gone extinct a hundred years ago. Nowadays, the only person who can still retain antibiotics is probably Dr. Kureha, the witch from the Drum Kingdom."
The doctor replied weakly, "She's 139 years old. If she weren't, no one could have saved her."
Where is the Drum Kingdom?
Luffy shouted something.
"Actually, we are also searching for the way back to the Drum Kingdom."
The doctor's answer Luffy's face darken. He went outside and saw Wapol on the Going Merry. He was instantly furious. " Gum-Gum, BAZAAR!"
Luffy blasted Wapol away.
"Ah! Lord Wapol is a Devil Fruit user, he can't swim!"
"Hurry up and go to the rescue! What are you all standing around for? Get on the boat!"
As they spoke, the group of people left in a chaotic manner.
Luffy didn't stop them; if they couldn't save Nami, there was no point in keeping these doctors here.
The fifth day.
Time is of the essence. "How do we get to the Drum Kingdom?"
"Let's go that way. I'll use my Spiritual Sense to search; there are more people over there, that should be where the island is."
Shiraishi pointed.
This news Luffy. He offered almost no doubt, choosing to believe it and saying, "Really? Let's sail that way immediately."
"You can sense it from this far away?"
Usopp looked completely surprised.
"That's normal. Once you reach a certain level of strength, you'll be able to find it too."
Shiraishi answered with a smile.
