September 22nd.
early morning.
The food in the Thirteenth Division's canteen was exceptionally good. Usually it was porridge, but today it was fragrant rice, accompanied by tofu miso soup, salmon, beef, eggs, and more.
This is the food we ate before the war.
Many people would find this hard to swallow.
Renji Abarai, carrying a tray, sat down in the group he had just met yesterday. "Is the food in your Thirteenth Division really that good?"
"The food will be especially good when we go to fight the Void."
"Is that so? Haha, the 11th Division doesn't get this kind of treatment."
Renji Abarai smiled and began to eat and drink heartily, not forgetting to call out, "You guys eat too, eat more so you can have more Reiatsu for the battle later."
The other Seated Officer exchanged glances, smiled, seemingly realizing their worries were foolish, and began to eat.
"Another one!" Having been in the 11th Division for a long time, Renji Abarai had developed a habit of speaking in a voice that wasn't particularly loud, but was full of energy and gave people a powerful feeling.
He himself thought it was normal, but the other members saw the shadow of the late vice-captain, Kaien Shiba, in his words.
Passionate and unrestrained.
Like the sun, it constantly ignites the emotions of those around it.
This is why Renji Abarai was able to quickly integrate into the group.
After finishing breakfast, Renji Abarai couldn't wait to get started. Looking around, he asked, "Hey, where's Rukia?"
"She's from the Kuchiki Clan, she doesn't eat in the cafeteria, she'll be a little late."
The high- Seated Officer beside him explained.
"Oh." Renji Abarai responded, still unable to suppress his excitement; it had been a long time since he had fought alongside Rukia.
If Rukia gets into danger later, he needs to save the day in a cool way. What lines should he say then?
Thinking about this, he fell into deep thought. After everyone else finished eating, they left together outside the cafeteria.
The sky was a deep blue, like a piece of azure glass, without a single white cloud in sight. They waited in the courtyard.
Time passed little by little.
The team members gradually gathered, and Renji Abarai wanted to greet Rukia.
That person simply chose to go to the end.
There were too many people around him to approach, so he could only watch from afar. He wondered to himself, Rukia's relationships within the Thirteenth Division didn't seem to be very good?
Just then, a figure appeared at the front of the group, casually donning the Captain's Haori of the Thirteenth Division, and waved without turning around, "Quiet, everyone move out now."
As Shiraishi spoke, the members of the Kidō Corps opened the Senkaimon, and swarms of black Hell Butterfly drifted in.
The Thirteenth Division has a relatively complete organization, with 450 people, though not reaching the full strength of 500. This is unlike the 11th Division, which has been reduced to just over 100 people in combat.
Regardless of whether these 450 people can defeat more than 100 people, their entrance presence is definitely superior to that of the 11th Division.
A large number of black Hell Butterfly guided the way, ensuring they wouldn't get lost in the Dangai.
The Limitation Seal originally placed on the captain and vice-captain were also removed at Shiraishi's strong request.
If something really happens, it would be foolish to wait for the restrictions to be slowly lifted.
... If he were to use Limitation Seal, he definitely wouldn't choose to accept this mission.
As soon as the portal to the World of the Living Senkaimon opened, black butterflies surged outwards, and figures darted out from within.
Beep beep beep, the Denreishinki began to ring.
They glanced at the mission location, then quickly split up, leaping between tall buildings and heading straight for their targets.
Shiraishi leaped onto the top of Tokyo Tower, sitting atop a special observation deck 250 meters above, the wind ruffling the Captain's Haori.
He left the smaller Hollows to the team members; his target was a Hollow of Espada caliber, or at the very least, an Arrancar.
Spiritual Sense expands silently.
He dangled his feet outside the window, admiring the Tokyo view, though perhaps the weather was bad, or maybe his angle was wrong.
He didn't see Mount Fuji, but only densely packed buildings on the ground, lit up with various colored lights, illuminating the darkness of the night.
One after another, Garganta opened up, and ethereal Reiatsu rose and fell.
"Roar, Zabimaru!"
The snow-white blade transformed into an elongated fang, piercing into a Void creature that had just stepped out of the Garganta with extreme ferocity.
Renji Abarai stepped onto the lamppost, his hand jerked suddenly, the sword retracted, and he exclaimed excitedly, "That was so easy!"
Beep beep.
The Denreishinki rang again. Renji Abarai took it out, glanced at the location (not far from here), and leaped towards the neon-lit street.
"Kill... you." A giant, jellyfish-shaped phantom floated in its mouth, its bony surface embedded in the center, and several long tentacles lashed out fiercely forward.
The black-haired Shinigami couldn't dodge and could only raise his Zanpakuto to block in front of him.
Bang.
The powerful force vibrated the blade, and he barely managed to hold on for a second before realizing that if he continued, he would die.
Instinctively trying to deflect the force backward, but overestimating his skills, he was instead swept away by the force and fell diagonally downward.
This is bad!
He roared inwardly.
The landing point is a commercial street.
Around 7 p. m., people getting off work gather here to have dinner, or couples begin their evening preparations.
He fell diagonally to the ground.
Splat
A soft voice sounded, and behind him was a muddy texture. He spat out blood and saw a human woman wearing makeup sitting slumped beside him.
Tong Kong spread his wound, his right hand gripping a left wrist, blood gushing from the cut.
Women obviously cannot see Shinigami, and therefore cannot understand why their boyfriends, who are perfectly fine on the street, are discussing which restaurant to eat at.
Why is there suddenly only a left wrist left? The flesh on the ground is like soft mud, and blood has splattered all over my trouser leg.
"Ha, ha, ha," the woman gasped for breath, her sluggish brain realizing something was wrong, and she let out a sharp scream, "Ahhh!"
No one complained, because the people around them were also shouting, and the fear of the unknown drove them to scatter and flee.
The commercial street became chaotic.
"Damn it." He propped himself up with his hands, his eyes filled with resentment.
The giant, jellyfish-shaped phantom floated down, its eight slender tentacles stabbing down swiftly, too fast for him to dodge.
The jet-black blade swiftly slid through the air, its silver edge biting into the hollow Visored like a beast's fangs.
With another wave, the giant jellyfish-shaped phantom split in two, turning into black particles and dissipating.
The Shinigami, with his long, bright red hair, landed on the power line and asked, looking down, "Hey, are you alright?"
"Yes, Lieutenant Abarai, I can still hold on."
The man recognized who it was and felt relieved, so he stood up from the ground.
"If you can't handle it, go back and rest first. Damn it."
Renji Abarai's face was no longer composed; it was filled with worry. "There are just too many of them. We can't possibly kill them all."
Beep beep.
The Denreishinki rang out once again.
Renji Abarai glanced at her and could only silently pray that nothing would happen to Rukia.
