Chapter 229 Astel and the Gardener Robot
Mu En hovered in mid-air, looking down, his mind flashing through various pieces of information about the enormous creature.
Astel, Astel.
Born from the distant beyond, in the darkness of the starry sky, this species once destroyed the ancient eternal city in the Lands Between, driving the Numen civilization deep underground.
(The mature form of Astel was born from the void, her body composed of deformed cosmic stars.)
After going through three stages—young, adult, and hatching— the Fallingstar Beast will transform into Astel. Like some arthropods, Astel can continue to grow by constantly molting, becoming stronger with each molt.
Once they have fully matured and mastered the power of gravity and space, they can return to outer space and continue to spread their seeds to the next planet.
The reason this creature is called " Astel " instead of " Naturalborn of the Void " is because it is almost twice the size of the mature one in the Lands Between.
Even with its slender body, its body, which swells to over two hundred meters in length, makes it appear incredibly enormous. Heaven knows how much Volucite energy this creature has absorbed and how many times it has shed its skin to grow to this size.
(A full-body model of Astel, with her tail accounting for 80% of her total length)
When I first came to this world, the conjecture that "the aliens in the stars destroyed the Laputa civilization" sounded a bit far-fetched, but now it seems that it is very likely to be the truth.
The tremors just now, and the rapid disappearance of the Volucite's energy, are definitely related to this Astel. It's estimated that it has even used the city's core as its lair for countless years.
Those other floating cities probably crashed in the same way.
Suddenly, a series of rapid metallic clanging sounds came from behind.
The gardener robot, which had been left behind, scrambled across the edge of the rooftop garden like a spider, and sped down the city wall.
For some unknown reason, its broad palms and soles moved as if walking on flat ground on a vertical wall, without slowing down at all.
The moment the robot was suspended upside down below the city and could clearly see Astel, the signal light in the center of its eyes began to flash wildly, emitting a piercing alarm.
Intruder detected!
Astel noticed it too; the skull turned slightly, and its massive jaws opened and closed with a provocative tremor.
It's been hundreds of years, and every time you molt and evolve, you have to bother yourselves. Don't you clay figures get annoyed?
The gardener robot that has activated the city defense army mode cannot understand Astel's speech, and even if it could, it probably wouldn't change its behavior.
Without any warning, the hollow left eye suddenly burst forth with a cross of light, and proton rays streaked across the sky!
( The Laputa robot is equipped with two types of weapons: a proton beam cannon in its left eye and a laser cutter with precisely controllable power in its right eye.)
As the most powerful attack of the Laputa robots, the proton beam can instantly melt and detonate most materials, treating both brick and steel equally.
However, how could Astel not know about these old rivals who had been harassing it for hundreds of years?
The purple black hole instantly enveloped its enormous body, then collapsed inward with a sudden force, and the gigantic monster vanished without a trace.
The proton rays could only pass through the air weakly, exploding into a dazzling burst of light in the distant clouds.
Teleport, a gravity-based spell, is one of Astel's most powerful innate abilities.
The next moment, a black hole appeared behind the robot, from which a pair of giant jaws emerged, creating a purple spherical gravity barrier in the center, directly binding the robot so that it could not move.
The robot struggled desperately, its limbs flailing wildly in the air, but it couldn't break free even a fraction.
As the giant jaws closed, gravitational energy was rapidly compressed, and the sturdy brown shell, unable to bear the weight, began to creak.
Against this Astel, who has grown to her limit, a single Laputa Guardian is simply no match.
"Damn it! Damn monster!" Seeing the robot in danger, Pazu, who was lying on the edge of the Sky Garden, angrily slammed his fist on the grass.
"Look, Mr. Tree is about to make his move!" Sheeta, on the other hand, was much more observant, having been watching the entire battle closely.
Whoosh!
Before Astel could completely crush her opponent, the golden spear of light shot in with a piercing sonic boom, precisely piercing the gravity barrier.
The barrier shattered, and the unrestrained robot plummeted downwards. As a repairman and gardener, it had no ability to fly.
Fortunately, Mu En manipulated gravity to fly down and caught the gardener robot in mid-air. He then quickly carried it back to the edge of the rooftop garden and gently placed it next to Pazu and Sheeta.
The robot turned its head, the indicator lights between its eyes flashing rapidly, as if it were expressing gratitude or asking a question.
"It's too dangerous here. You all need to get to the center of the garden immediately and meet up with Dola and the others. Then, find an opportunity to go to the lower core and try to take control of Laputa."
"And you, protect these two children. Sheeta is the last royal descendant of Laputa."
Mu En quickly gave instructions, reminding them that the upcoming battle was not something a few ordinary Blessed could participate in, not even these two Chosen Ones.
Before the two children could reply, Mu En suddenly turned around and raised his arms made of tree branches. Golden light spread out in front of him, forming an Shield of Immutability that covered an area of several tens of meters.
boom!!!
The gray-white tail hammer, as big as a bus, slammed heavily onto the protective cover; each of its dense barbs was as thick as a telephone pole.
The impact was so strong that the entire barrier shattered into countless points of light. Mu En released three layers of shields in succession to block in front of him, barely managing to deflect the tail hammer.
The long tail formed by the stars retreated into the distance like a swimming dragon. Astel slowly floated to a height parallel to Mu En, and the six white bone arms at the front of her body slowly moved their joints, making a cracking sound.
The skull's head drooped slightly, and the single eye on its forehead held nothing but naked rage.
It never imagined that it would be attacked so soon after breaking through to its strength limit, before it even had a chance to properly experience that power. Hadn't its breakthrough been for nothing?
This is intolerable! Absolutely intolerable!
Mu En then attempted to communicate with her through mental communication, sending his mental energy towards Astel.
"Actually, we all come from the same place. You also have your own kind on my side. Submit to me, fight for me, how about it?"
However, Astel seemed to have no interest in communicating. It let out a piercing screech, and the gravitational field around it twisted and shattered, directly crushing the message into the air.
Immediately afterwards, the blue one-eyed creature began to gather Gravity Ray again, while further expanding the range of the gravity field, rendering Mu En's gravity distortion completely ineffective, and the golden avatar landed on the garden lawn.
Against Astel, who is the embodiment of the Law of Gravity, Mu En's gravity abilities were clearly not very effective.
"Heh heh----then let's fight first and talk about it later."
Mu En wasn't annoyed; he simply chuckled and moved his arms and shoulders, the golden crystals shimmering at his joints.
In the days since he created the Erdtree Avatar, he had been worried about not having a chance to test the full power of this body.
The ability that can be used in theory is not the same as the skill that can be mastered in actual combat. Mu En believed that only through combat could he better utilize the Golden Order Incantations and the Law of Gravity.
This Astel will be his best whetstone.
The Power of the Crucible condensed behind him into a pair of enormous wings, while the boundless Litany of Proper Death energy coalesced into a spear of light in his hand.
Mu En took flight, his double-headed spear pointing towards the monster formed from stars.
"Come on, let me see your power!"
