Dola's reminder was actually a bit redundant, because the Fallingstar Beast weren't interested in anyone else at all.
The massive black jaws collided and snapped together, producing a crisp cracking sound.
Then, it lowered its body, its massive jaws opening exaggeratedly to 180 degrees.
The next second, its massive body charged forward like a bulldozer!
"Mom, be careful!"
The air pirates finally realized what was happening and pulled out their revolvers to fire.
Bang bang bang--!
Gunfire flashed as bullets struck the black rocky carapace of the Fallingstar Beast, sending sparks flying.
But not a single rock fragment broke off from the armor plate even after the magazine was emptied.
Dola wasn't about to stand there and take the hit; she immediately leaped to the side, narrowly avoiding the collision.
The Fallingstar Beast, propelled by its momentum, grazed her back, tracing a path of over ten meters amidst a trail of sparks.
Mu En was not surprised by this scene.
He knew the habits of these creatures; they would directly transform into meteorites and crash into the earth from space.
The larvae hatch in the impact crater, feed on rocks and minerals, and go through several growth stages, eventually growing into a terrifying cosmic creature called " Astel," capable of manipulating gravity and space at will.
Ordinary bullets can't hurt this thing.
The one in front of us, although it is in a relatively "young" stage, has not yet grown that iconic giant eye that can release Gravity Ray.
Even so, it was still beyond the capabilities of mortals like Dola.
Mu En no longer had time to think about where this thing came from.
His concern was that if the main characters were killed, his Golden Seed might never see the light of day again; he had to save them.
He mentally estimated the seed's energy reserves.
It consumed too much energy while passing through the atmosphere, and then we used that violent method to slow it down.
While conserving the energy needed for germination and growth, the remaining power can at most be fully released for one Incantations, plus the transformation of three or four Blessed.
The biggest problem is, even if all these people were converted into Blessed, plus a single Incantations, would that really be enough to destroy this thing in front of us?
Even the Tarnished had to temporarily avoid the brunt of the Fallingstar Beast's dragon chariot.
If we run out of energy before we've finished, then it's all really over.
"Get a larger size!"
Dola and the others weren't going to be polite to this monster. Seeing that ordinary weapons were ineffective, she immediately ordered the use of heavy firepower.
Boom boom boom boom!
The group pulled out their signature hand cannons and fired simultaneously, sending shockwaves flying through the cave.
The flames and smoke engulfed the enormous stone head, and black and white rock fragments scattered all over the ground like raindrops.
Dola gave a cold laugh.
Those were extra-large 50mm bullets, with enough propellant to dent armor steel.
Even if this monster is really made of stone, it should still be—
Her cold smile froze on her face.
The smoke and dust were dispersed by a brute force, and the giant beast continued its charge towards her.
Dola's pupils contracted. What the hell was this thing? It had been hit by several grenades and it had only lost a layer of skin?!
There was no time to fire a second shot. She crouched and rolled to the side again, her movements so fast they seemed impossible for someone her age and build.
A roaring sound came from behind her. She turned around, bracing herself with one hand on the ground, and saw that the two giant jaws had been carved deep into the thick rock wall.
If she had been even half a second slower, she would have been cut in half at the waist.
The Fallingstar Beast seemed to have gotten stuck in the rock strata due to its excessive momentum, and it began to struggle violently to pull itself out.
As it moved, the entire cave shook violently, and countless objects crashed to the ground from the cave ceiling.
"Run!"
Without her saying a word, the air pirates had already hoisted Pazu and Sheeta onto their backs and charged toward the mine tunnel at the other end of the cave.
As Dola retreated, she pulled three wooden-handled grenades from her belt, bit off the safety ring with her teeth, and threw them behind her by feel.
"Here's some candy for you!"
The grenade arced through the air and struck the Fallingstar Beast, bouncing and rolling to its feet.
Boom-
A scorching wave of heat shoved everyone from behind, sending rubble clattering against the mine tunnel walls.
Dola grinned again and burst into laughter.
"I don't care what kind of monster you are, if you try to touch Mom's things, I'll knock out a few of your teeth first!"
Inside the mine tunnel, a group of people ran frantically with flashlights in hand.
After fleeing for about three minutes without any sign of pursuit, the group dared to slow their pace slightly.
The air pirate carrying Pazu asked breathlessly, "Mom, Mom—what exactly is that thing?"
"How would I know?!" Dola wiped the sweat and grime from her face, turning to Pazu, whose face was pale with annoyance. "Hey, you miner kid! Do you guys at Railway Valley often dig up this kind of stuff?"
These strange beasts were completely beyond Dola's comprehension; she had never heard of anything like them even in legends.
Pazu, who was being carried like a sack of potatoes, rolled his eyes upon hearing this; his mouth was still stuffed up.
Dola stepped forward and reached out to pull the gag out of Pazu's mouth.
The boy took a deep breath and then began to cough violently.
The tattered suit, soaked in sweat and dust, really choked him.
"I don't know, I'm not sure, I've never heard of it."
"Stop talking nonsense and tell me how we're getting out, or I'll leave you and the monster here to keep each other company!"
Pazu glared back at him fiercely. "See these three tracks on the ground? This is the main mine shaft, leading directly to the entrance of the largest old mine pit at the bottom of the Railway Valley. You can get out by following the tracks."
Dola didn't have time to pay attention to his gaze. She waved her hand and said, "Did you all hear that? Hurry up! The sooner we get back to the Tiger Moth, the safer we'll be!"
The group began to move again, and the mine tunnel started to ascend with a slight slope, making the journey increasingly strenuous.
Occasionally, branch roads appear on both sides of the mine tunnel, but they are blocked by collapsed rocks or rusty iron fences, and only the main mine tunnel remains unobstructed.
After walking for a few more minutes, a rusty iron plaque with illegible writing was nailed to the rock face ahead.
One of the air pirates held his flashlight closer to examine the object.
"The cave entrance? Distance... I can't see clearly beyond that."
Before he finished speaking, a continuous, low rumbling sound came from the depths of the mine tunnel behind him, as if something was tumbling and moving up the slope.
Everyone paused in their tracks.
"Hey, hey, could it be that monster? --- those were three high-explosive grenades!" one of the air pirates couldn't help but exclaim.
The roar amplified rapidly, striking the hearts of everyone present.
Soon, they spotted the source of the sound.
It really caught up!
The Fallingstar Beast tucked its limbs and tail together, its entire body curling up into a giant rock wheel covered in spikes.
Fueled by a swirling purple gravitational energy, this deadly "wheel" is rapidly rolling uphill in a manner that defies the laws of physics!
Wherever it passed, the rails were flattened, the sleepers were shattered into a shower of wood chips, and the wheels left scratches on the rock walls like a tunneling machine.
Everyone exclaimed in unison, "You jinx!"
The talkative air pirate was almost in tears.
"I... I was just saying it offhand—"
"Run!!!"
Amidst desperate cries of agony, everyone charged forward with all their might.
But how could an ordinary person possibly outrun a boulder that rolls faster using Gravity Sorcery?
The distance is rapidly decreasing: 100 meters, 50 meters, 30 meters...
The wind pressure from the giant ship was already pressing against my back, and the gravel was hitting me like bullets.
The air pirates attacked again with hand cannons, the explosions were deafening, but they couldn't even make the enemy pause for a moment.
Dola turned back and fired the last cannonball, only to discover a despairing truth.
The entire mine tunnel was just wide enough for the monster to pass through in a spherical shape.
In other words, they had nowhere to hide.
Even if you keep running forward, you'll definitely be crushed into mincemeat by the monsters before you even reach the exit!
