One Against Two

"Sean, you need to be careful. Those two guys might not be dead."

On the top floor of the building across the way, a cute little loli wearing a purple wig and a tight-fitting suit spoke into her communicator. She had almost been knocked off her feet by the massive recoil of the rocket launcher, and her shoulder was still aching.

"I knew I shouldn't have let you come."

A headache-inducing voice came from the communicator. Sean had originally planned to go in alone, to storm Kingpin's high-end apartment and take care of the crime lord who secretly ruled New York's underworld.

But who knew that Mindy would discover his plan? The little loli, always brimming with interest in violence, had clamored to join the operation. After careful consideration, Sean had finally agreed to her request. Besides being unable to resist the little loli's cute tactics and incessant chatter, Mindy's own considerable combat prowess was a major reason.

After all, this little loli wasn't as fragile as she appeared. Beneath her cute and innocent facade was Hit-Girl, cruelly trained into a killing weapon!

"Plan A failed. Executing Plan B," Sean issued the command through the communicator. He had already infiltrated Kingpin's high-end apartment building. "Mindy, when do Kingpin's men arrive?"

"I've cut off the power to the elevators. You have about ten minutes." The little loli was quite reliable in a pinch.

"That's enough. Jam the building's surveillance equipment. I'll give Mr. Fisk a surprise," Sean said calmly. He had meticulously planned his assassination attempt for tonight.

Inside the luxuriously decorated apartment, the scene was already a mess. Glass shards littered the floor, thick smoke billowed, and flames licked at the bookshelves and carpet. The disheveled crime lord crawled out from under his desk. The tremendous impact of the rocket explosion had seemingly not caused him much harm.

"It's been a long time since I've had an experience like this..." Kingpin licked his lips, a cruel, bloodthirsty glint appearing on his seemingly honest face.

The burly crime lord shed his tattered white suit. His gleaming bald head was covered in dust. Ever since he became the ruler of Hell's Kitchen, no one had dared to assassinate him like this. It wasn't just out of fear of Kingpin's insane retaliation and terrifying reputation, but also because his enemies, after losing countless capable subordinates, realized that eliminating this crime lord was almost impossible.

Besides his bodyguard, Bullseye, who was always guarding Kingpin, the crime lord himself was incredibly powerful. Even before he rose to become the ruler of New York's underworld, there were terrifying rumors that he had once beaten a rival gang leader to death, turning him into a bloody pulp.

"Bullseye, are you dead?" Kingpin gripped his cane. He didn't believe his capable subordinate would be easily killed.

A faint rustling sound came from the apartment's fireplace. A lean man in a black trench coat and tight leather pants crawled out, his face smudged with black soot, looking even more disheveled than his boss.

"Boss, someone sent us a big gift." Bullseye gritted his teeth. This cruel killer, stained with blood, was filled with a desire for slaughter at this moment.

"One rocket launcher probably isn't enough. There should be a group of gunmen, maybe a squad of mercenaries from the Central Asian front." Kingpin said lightly. As the ruler of New York's underworld, he had weathered countless storms; a minor attack wouldn't scare him.

In fact, the crime lord harbored a faint sense of anticipation. When he threw the bodies into the Hudson River tomorrow morning, the whole of New York would once again feel the blood and terror contained within the name "Kingpin." And his enemies who planned this attack would end their lives in agonizing screams.

"Just a game to pass the time," Kingpin thought.

Knock, knock, knock—

The door, which had miraculously survived the massive explosion, was knocked upon. A voice that sounded quite young came from outside: "Mr. Wilson Fisk, there's a package for you to sign for."

Kingpin exchanged a look with his subordinate, Bullseye. His muscles instantly tensed. The next second, the heavy door was kicked open with a bang, and a dark figure carrying a chilling aura rushed into the room.

Without further ado, Bullseye immediately threw two sharp darts. The cold light flashed, cutting through the air at extreme speed, aimed at the intruder's throat and eyes. Meanwhile, Kingpin gripped the heavy cane in his hand, his immensely powerful, massive body rushing towards the black figure who had arrived in such an unfriendly manner, as if carrying rolling thunder.

The black figure was not stopped by the swiftly flying darts. He lightly tapped his feet, his movement a mere faint afterimage that flashed past Bullseye's attack. A mighty gust of wind and thunder struck down – it was Kingpin's ever-present heavy cane. There was no doubt that if he were hit by this blow, the attacker who had trespassed into the crime lord's residence would have his head instantly explode like a watermelon, painting a vividly bloody and terrifying picture.

Sean, having been in the room for less than ten seconds, was met with a relentless barrage of attacks. First, he had to admit that Kingpin indeed possessed extraordinary strength. No wonder even superheroes like Daredevil, Punisher, and Spider-Man hadn't gained any advantage against him. Judging by the power displayed by this crime lord, he was no less formidable than those powerful street heroes.

Sean's pupils contracted. The strength that had been accumulating in his body for a long time surged out like a river. Those invisible, tiny molecules churned in every cell, like a scorching stream of fire, stimulating every nerve in his body.

An overwhelming sense of power enveloped his hands. Sean's gaze suddenly turned cold. He exerted force with his feet, moving his body in an unbelievable trajectory. The heavy cane, as if forged from steel, smashed through the bookshelf behind the wall. In an instant, paper scraps flew everywhere in the room, which resembled ruins.

A lightning-fast throwing knife locked onto Sean's path of advance, shooting towards his chest. At the same time, Kingpin, with perfect coordination, swung his cane horizontally. A dazzling white current shot out from the seemingly valuable black cane. This was the crime lord's secret weapon, like high-tech equipment from a sci-fi movie, possessing various offensive capabilities. It could fire lasers, release poison, emit smoke, and even deliver electric shocks as an electric baton during close combat, making it impossible for opponents to defend against.

Bullseye and Kingpin exchanged a smile. They had an astonishing level of synergy, and their combined efforts had never met failure. Whether it was mercenaries from the South African rainforest or ninja assassins trained by Japan's Hand, they had all turned into cold corpses under Bullseye's throwing knives and Kingpin's iron fists. This was also why the crime lord hadn't chosen to flee the moment he was attacked.

They were the most terrifying thugs and villains in Hell's Kitchen, so how could they be afraid of such weak assassins?!

"Die!"

Kingpin roared, the immense sound waves vibrating the walls. His burly, massive body, like a mountain, rapidly closed in. Bullseye's cold, snake-like gaze was fixed on Sean. Facing a pincer attack from both sides, the young boy's eyes showed no panic whatsoever, as if the throwing knife about to pierce his chest, the fiercely swinging cane, and the shooting white current simply didn't exist.
