Huo Yuhao slowly opened his eyes once more in this space, twisted beyond recognition. An air of deathly stillness clung tightly to his body like thick ink, lingering for a long time. At first, his eyes held a trace of bewilderment. Swept along by the turbulent currents of time and space for so long, his will had grown utterly dormant, and the atmosphere had sunk into a profound, deathly silence.
Yet a feeling slowly rose in his heart: a fierce longing to live, and an unwillingness to accept the sacrifices of his teacher and friends.
He rallied his spirits once more. He could not allow himself to sink into oblivion, nor could he let the deaths of his teacher and friends be in vain. And so, though his body was broken and every movement drained all his strength, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to his feet.
Huo Yuhao's body was still extremely weak. His godhood had shattered, and now only the divine power sustaining his life remained within him.
Perhaps Elder Yi's fragments drifted through here back then, too. The thought flashed through Huo Yuhao's mind. He noticed that these turbulent currents of time and space seemed to contain something unusual.
When he had first been swept into the turbulent currents of time and space, he had noticed nothing strange. But as time passed, he gradually discovered that although time around him appeared to be in a state of disorder, there was some elusive pattern to it.
Elder Yi had once said that chaotic time and space existed because the power of time and space within them had become severely distorted. Here, the flow of time was utterly chaotic. From the outside, time in this space seemed to stand still.
Yet Huo Yuhao grew increasingly curious. In this space, the ordinary concept of time seemed not to exist at all, yet the air was filled with a power of time so dense it was nearly tangible.
It was just that this power of time was extremely mixed and impure. Under normal circumstances, anyone who rashly absorbed it would certainly die. Moreover, past experience showed that once someone entered the turbulent currents of time and space, because of the uncertainty of the space they occupied,
Divine power would be rapidly consumed in vast quantities, like sand pouring through an hourglass. Once it was exhausted, only death awaited, and they were doomed to vanish forever within this space.
Huo Yuhao's thoughts raced as he pondered the matter more deeply. When time flows in its normal direction, its flow accelerates. So, if I combined the power of time I absorb with my own divine power and tried to reverse it, could I create a space-time vortex and return to the past?
He knew full well that getting out of these turbulent currents of time and space would be as hard as ascending to the heavens. But as things stood, using the distorted power of time here to reverse it might be his only sliver of hope.
But he soon realized the enormous risk involved. No. If I do that, my body most likely won't be able to withstand it and will explode outright. Besides, this power of time and space is so strange that any ordinary cultivator who rashly absorbed it would certainly die. I must be mad to have such an idea.
Huo Yuhao frowned deeply, torn and helpless. He had already been driven into a dead end, and there seemed to be no workable solution. What should I do? he asked himself again and again.
Yet the arrow was already on the string, and he had no choice but to loose it. His Soul Spirits had all dissipated for his sake, and his godhood had long since shattered. The only gamble left to him was to rely on this exceedingly dangerous power of time, together with all his cultivation, and attempt to reverse time and space.
But if this plan failed, an irredeemable fate awaited him. He might even have to sacrifice himself to return to the past. The risk was immense: the slightest mistake would destroy both his body and soul, erasing him from the world entirely.
But he had no way back. There was no one left behind him to catch him if he fell. Only by staking everything on this gamble might he have a sliver of hope.
Huo Yuhao gave a self-mocking smile, tinged with bitterness. "With a broken body like this, what does it matter if I fail?" At this moment, he had already put life and death out of his mind.
Perhaps because he had absorbed too much of the powerful and dangerous force around him, Huo Yuhao's eyes gradually began to change. They became like ancient clocks, the hands on their faces turning slowly, as though recording the time within these turbulent currents of time and space.
But how could his broken body withstand the tremendous power of time and space? Before long, Huo Yuhao felt his body beginning to give way under its impact. The energy within him churned violently, like a volcano on the verge of eruption.
At last, his body could bear it no longer. With a boom, he self-destructed.
At the moment he self-destructed, the clocks his eyes had become spun wildly counterclockwise, as if to reverse time completely. As their hands whirled, time around him seemed truly to begin flowing backward, everything returning toward its point of origin.
Using all his cultivation as a boat, Huo Yuhao tried to cross the vast, boundless river of time. Just then, a massive vortex suddenly appeared in the turbulent currents of time and space, seemingly triggered by the power of time and space contained within him.
The vortex spun rapidly, generating a powerful suction that swept Huo Yuhao inside in an instant. Darkness filled his vision, and his consciousness gradually blurred before he passed out. After an unknown length of time, he slowly awakened once more...
"After ten thousand years of change, the newly born destiny of the Douluo Continent is so abundant. Is this meant to be one last gamble? This newly born destiny... there's a layer of mist around him, and even I can't see through him." A man in blue was intently observing every movement in the mortal realm. He was none other than the God Realm Enforcer, Sea God Tang San.
Destiny represented opportunities, and a child of destiny was like a child cherished by the world, born with the gifts of heaven and earth, a favored one chosen by them.
Even if they started from humble beginnings, their future achievements would be boundless.
They might be hunted by enemies and leap off a cliff in desperation, only to survive the disaster and instead gain an earth-shaking opportunity. Their destiny surged to the heavens; even while casually walking down a street or shopping, they might stumble upon a rare treasure.
Every plane would give birth to its own child of destiny. Without exception, they could all command the wind and clouds and reign supreme in their respective worlds. Just as Tang San was lost in thought, a gentle female voice came from behind him. "Third Brother."
Tang San turned at the sound and saw a graceful woman standing there in a pink dress. Her figure was slender, and a pair of lively rabbit ears on her head was especially conspicuous. She was Tang San's beloved, Xiao Wu. Xiao Wu moved with dainty steps and slipped naturally into Tang San's embrace.
An indulgent look immediately appeared on Tang San's face. He gently rubbed Xiao Wu's head and asked softly, "Is Xiao Qi asleep?"
Xiao Wu nodded slightly and said gently, "She's already asleep. Third Brother, are you watching the Douluo Continent again?"
Tang San sighed softly. "One day in the Divine Realm is one year in the mortal realm. It's the same for the Douluo Continent and all the other major planes.
"I wanted to stay in the mortal realm a while longer, but I'd made a wager with the God Kings of Kindness and Evil, so I had no choice but to return to the Divine Realm and shoulder the heavy burden of an enforcer. It's just a pity about the Tang Sect..."
Xiao Wu gently took Tang San's hand and comforted him. "Ten thousand years have passed. The seas have long since turned to mulberry fields in the mortal realm, and the Tang Sect has gradually declined. That, too, is the course of the times, not something human effort can change."
Tang San's gaze grew resolute. "I've sensed that a new star has been born on the Douluo Continent. I predict he will lead the Tang Sect back to glory. And he has deep ties to our Tang Sect."
As Tang San and Xiao Wu spoke softly, a small figure cautiously peeked out from nearby. As if sensing something, Tang San turned and smiled coldly. "Then let her enter the game early. Don't disappoint me, my dear daughter."
