"Don't underestimate me! Gas~Burn Blade!"
Seeing his expression, Kamakiri was filled with rage. He drew the wooden stick at his waist, fitted it together with a shell, and pressed a button. A long sword of burning gas instantly formed.
Kamakiri swung hard at Enel's waist, slicing him in half. A large tree behind him was cut down as well.
"How is that possible..."
Kamakiri finally couldn't help crying out in shock.
Not a drop of blood flowed from the severed edges of Enel's upper and lower body. They were made entirely of lightning.
"Mmm heh heh heh, your five minutes are up. Now it's my turn, Kamakiri."
Enel's upper body floated in the air as he looked at him and spoke with a smile.
"Thump!!!"
Kamakiri immediately threw down the gas sword, took out his Waver, and jumped aboard. He sped away at full speed, hoping to warn his companions.
Wyper, Laki, everyone, get away from here! He's not someone we can defeat. He's the fear hidden deep in people's hearts.
He repeated the words silently, driving the Waver beneath his feet at maximum speed, desperate to tell his companions what he knew.
Crack!!!
A bolt of lightning fell from the sky in front of him, revealing Enel. Holding his staff in his right hand, Enel placed his left hand on top of Kamakiri's head and spoke with a chuckle.
"Do you think a human can defeat... a god? 30 Million Volt Discharge!"
A torrent of lightning immediately burst from his hand, its light engulfing the entire forest.
Boom!!!
Kamakiri's body was charred black, and thin arcs of electricity flickered over him as he collapsed, barely conscious.
"Hmm, did that lightning just travel along the cloud currents and snuff out several more voices? A bunch of trash."
Enel landed steadily on the ground, his brows slightly furrowed. Just now, several more voices had vanished from his Observation Haki's perception, which was why he spoke with such disdain.
Meanwhile, Robin had finally followed the map's directions to Shandia's ancestral land, a place famed as the City of Gold.
"Is this the place? It looks like it. These are all ancient ruins, at least several hundred years old."
Robin walked in with a small backpack on her back. She touched a spot engraved with ancient writing and gazed at it as she spoke calmly.
Whoosh!!!
A massive figure sprang out from behind her. He looked at her, confirmed Robin's identity, and spoke.
"It's you, isn't it? One of the intruders from the Blue Sea. I am Oyama, captain of the divine soldiers under Lord God Enel. Here, in the name of God, I will execute you."
"Hmm... You're one of the pursuers under him. Have you finally caught up to me here?"
"Hey, I am an apostle of God. Here, I sentence you to death. Take this, Full-Point Fist!"
Oyama twisted his massive body and charged at Robin.
"Ten Fleur!"
Ten arms sprouted from Robin's left hand and blocked Oyama's fist.
Boom!!!
Though they stopped his fist, its tremendous force still traveled into her arms, sending her flying and crashing through the wall behind her that was engraved with historical writing.
"What's wrong, little girl? You don't seem as strong as you said you were.
This next move will finish you off. Full-Point Belly!"
With that, Oyama leaped into the air again, using the force of a backflip to strengthen his kick as he struck at Robin with both feet.
"Twenty Fleur!"
Ten arms extended from each of her hands, spinning as they blocked his kick.
Unfortunately, they were utterly useless against a kick backed by Oyama's enormous bulk.
Robin could only lead him out of the ruins, then use her wits to defeat him and throw him off a cliff, finally bringing the battle to an end.
Elsewhere, Zoro encountered the Shandia warrior Braham. Unable to see where his opponent was because of his flash grenades, Zoro suffered greatly. Only after grasping a flying slash, 36 Pound Phoenix, did he defeat him.
Later, while eating, he was ambushed by a South Bird and hurled into the air near the giant serpent known as the Lord of the Sky.
Chopper, meanwhile, also used his wits to defeat the priest Gedatsu, making him fire off his own Jet Wind Dial and ultimately fall into the Blue Sea below. Then, searching alone for the others' tracks once more, he accidentally entered the priest Ohm's trial ground.
"Hey, Zoro, Robin, Luffy! Is everyone here?"
Chopper held a wooden stick and called their names as he looked around, but no one answered.
"Hmm, what's this...?"
Chopper suddenly spotted several people lying on the ground ahead and hurried over to check on them.
"Hey, wake up! Are you all right? Who hurt you like this?"
Chopper helped one of them up, hoping to wake him and ask what had happened to them. Unfortunately, they all seemed to have been killed by someone, so they couldn't tell him what had happened here at all.
"Woof!!!"
A bark suddenly echoed in Chopper's ears, putting him on alert at once. He turned toward the sound.
"Hmm... What a huge dog! Hey, did you kill them?"
Chopper looked over and saw a giant white-haired dog in that spot. The sound had come from it, so he shouted the question at it.
"Hey, hey, hey, don't say that. His name is Holy, and he's my beloved dog. He's very well trained and never bites anyone without my orders. I killed them all."
The answer came instead from another voice, a somewhat deep human voice.
"Phew! So you didn't do it. That's good...
In that case, you're the really terrifying one, aren't you?"
Chopper had just breathed a sigh of relief when it suddenly dawned on him. He turned to Ohm, who was above the giant white dog, and shouted.
"My name is Ohm. You're the third person to enter this place today.
By the way, you're the one who defeated that spider-head, aren't you, raccoon dog?"
Ohm first introduced himself, then changed the subject and asked Chopper whether he was the one who had defeated the priest Gedatsu.
Huh! Does he mean that guy?
Hearing Ohm's question, Chopper quickly realized whom he was asking about, but he only spoke silently to himself and didn't answer him directly.
"Forget it. It's just as well that idiot died. You think so too, don't you?"
Without caring whether Chopper had answered him, Ohm went on talking to himself.
He's that indifferent even to his own companion? This man is really scary!
Chopper trembled with fear and muttered ceaselessly.
"Hey, be quiet, raccoon dog. I'm reflecting on the fragility of human beings.
Why is it that they live for happiness, yet die trying to obtain it?
Why do they keep doing this? As long as people live, they will have desires, and there will be death. I'm merely setting them free."
After finishing his melancholy reflection, Ohm looked at Chopper again and asked what his purpose was.
"By the way, raccoon dog, what did you come here for?"
"Huh! I came here to look for gold..."
"As long as there is desire, conflict will never end. Let me set you free."
Before Chopper could finish, Ohm interrupted him. He stood up, propped himself on his long sword, and looked at Chopper as he spoke.
"By 'set me free,' you mean...?"
Chopper still naively thought Ohm would actually step in and save him.
"Why, of course... I mean killing you."
Ohm drew his long sword and spoke with a sinister smile on his lips.
