When Robin and Usopp tried to wake Luffy, Vic had already left the restaurant. Little did he know that after he left, Robin would analyze a series of clues and figure out his true purpose!
If he found out, this girl... cough cough, if Vic found out, he would definitely exclaim, "No wonder she's a talented girl who earned her doctorate in archaeology at the age of eight, she's truly intelligent!"
If Vic knew that Robin had suspected him of peeping at him while he was changing and showering, he'd probably be so frustrated he'd want to vomit blood. He wasn't that shameless; at most...
With all preparations complete and all destabilizing factors eliminated, Vic went directly to the dock to await the appearance of the Rainbow Mist.
To be fair, the Straw Hat Pirates really did have the protagonist's script, their protagonist aura shining brightly. Vic didn't have to wait long at the dock before a cloud of Rainbow Mist appeared on the sea in front of them.
"Is this the treatment the protagonist gets?! Henzo has been researching and waiting for fifty years and might not even encounter the Rainbow Mist a few times, or even once, but it appeared not long after Luffy arrived. It's infuriating to compare yourself to others!"
Vic sighed, took out a piece of gold the size of a basketball from his Dimensional Ring, and lightning crackled in his hand. A golden thread the size of a noodle hung down from the gold block and grew longer and longer.
Vic used Geppo to reach above the ocean, grabbed the end of the golden thread with his other hand, and flung it towards the dock. The golden thread shot through the air like an arrow and pierced the dock, the end of the thread embedding itself deep into the dock's bricks.
Vic pulled on the gold thread in his hand and found it to be very strong; even a small fishing boat couldn't pull it out.
Vic continued to unleash lightning to create golden threads, and with his feet on Geppo, he rushed into the Rainbow Mist!
Sure enough! The Rainbow Mist was like a Space Passage. Passing through the colorful mist, Vic arrived in another world. A small space enveloped in the Rainbow Mist appeared before him!
This place was piled with countless wrecked ships, a veritable ship graveyard. Vic used his Observation Haki to sense the area, but it was really small. He could only extend his Observation Haki Vic to less than a tenth of the distance before he could no longer sense anything tangible.
He continued to release his Observation Haki to expand his perception range, but all he found was a deep and empty void. The same thing happened when Vic expanded his Observation Haki to its maximum range; he couldn't perceive anything, as if he had entered another void space!
Unable to sense anything, Vic stopped exploring the unknown space and withdrew his Observation Haki to envelop the small space. There were quite a few creatures inside, but most of them were in the sea. Above the surface, there were only six auras: five children and one adult!
"So many years have passed, were only a few of them mistakenly wandered into this place? Or did many others mistakenly enter, only to kill each other in the struggle for the treasure within? Or did they manage to escape?"
If it's the first one, then it means the Rainbow Mist doesn't appear very often, and I made the right choice coming here with Luffy and the others!
If it's the second scenario, then after these children entered, didn't anyone else accidentally wander in? Otherwise, how did they survive? If they could get out, why didn't these children leave?
That still proves one thing: no one from the outside world has accidentally entered this place in the past fifty years. Those who accidentally entered fifty years ago either died of old age or killed each other trying to monopolize the treasure. Some died, some were injured, and in the end, they all died!
There are also many fish in the sea, which must have wandered in by mistake. But they are not greedy, so most of them survived! After all, the time span from the outside to the inside is quite large, but the time spent inside is relatively small, so even if they prey on each other, they can't eat much.
Looking at the shipwrecks scattered everywhere, Vic speculated that some of these ships might have drifted in after being damaged, but others must have strayed in during their voyages.
That means many people have been here before, but now only the last group of children and one pirate remain. Where did the others who came in before go? Did they leave? Or did they die?
Leaving the Eternal Land is very difficult; Rainbow Mist must appear in the outside world for the Space Passage to be opened.
However, the inside is always shrouded in Rainbow Mist. When the Rainbow Mist appears outside, the people inside are completely unaware of it unless someone comes in from the outside, or you keep trying to walk into the mist to try your luck.
Even if Rainbow Mist appears outside, you can't just leave as you please. It's like being trapped in a maze; without the correct path, you can't get out and will only wander in circles.
Therefore, you need something to refer to and guide you, such as the Rainbow Tower that Vic blew up before, and the golden thread that Vic left behind. You can enter and exit by following these two things.
The Rainbow Tower has already been destroyed by Vic, and the only way out now is through the golden thread that Vic left behind. But those who came in before didn't know the secrets of this place!
Dr. Henzo spent fifty years researching before realizing that a guide was needed to enter and exit the Rainbow Mist. Where would the people inside have such a thing? Would those who kept failing even try to enter the mist to try their luck? They'd probably have given up long ago. Therefore, Vic suspects that it's most likely everyone who entered before is dead!
Vic's thoughts jumped around in a flash, but he didn't dwell on it too much. As long as he had a way out, that was enough. Besides, time was of the essence, and he didn't know how long this Space Passage would last.
Vic cast an illusion spell, pulling the children into it. In the illusion, a righteous and heroic man entered the Eternal Land!
This man claimed to be an adventurer, saying he had come to rescue them at Henzo's request. Because it was an illusion designed by Vic, the adventurer quickly gained the children's trust!
They found a perfectly intact small boat, went to the spot where the gold thread was wrapped around it, and rowed the boat outwards in the direction indicated by the gold thread.
While rowing through the colorful mist, the adventurer warned the children not to tell anyone about the Rainbow Mist, otherwise many people would come here to search for treasure and get trapped inside, causing their families and friends to worry and despair!
The children trusted the uncle who had saved them, and what he said made sense. They worried Henzo, because if the uncle hadn't come, they didn't know how long they would have been trapped. So, the children naturally kept the uncle's words in mind.
Vic kept his hand on the golden thread, sensing Rapanui, who was guiding him by holding onto it. His Observation Haki could no longer detect the children who had entered the mist, and the illusion could no longer be maintained. He could only rely on the biological reactions transmitted through the golden thread to determine his location.
However, the children were still excited about being able to go out and didn't notice at all that the adventurer uncle who had been sitting behind them had silently disappeared!
When Vic could no longer sense any biological reaction on the golden thread, he understood that the children must have safely left the Rainbow Mist, or at least were quite far away from Rainbow Mist, otherwise Rapanui wouldn't have dared to let go of the golden thread!
With a casual tug, Vic pulled the golden thread back, and the guide connecting the inside and outside of the Rainbow Mist disappeared!
