Tsubasa spent the most time with the Katsuyu Sage in the Shinobi World, and their bond was extremely deep. Therefore, he set his sights on the last sacred site Mount Myōboku. The Toad Sage is arguably the most mysterious and powerful being in the Shinobi World; it was involved in sealing Kaguya Otsutsuki a thousand years ago. The Senjutsu of Sage of Six Paths also learned his Sage Mode from it. Even more terrifying is its ability to foresee the Mirai.
But Tsubasa had no energy left to delve into these matters. He dragged his weary body to heal his injuries. The battle with the White Snake Sage had ravaged his internal organs, and the incredibly fast Xiaobai had also left venom on his body. Fortunately, his Perfect Sage Body had shielded him from these wounds, preventing them from killing him. Without this Perfect Sage Body, an ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivator would likely have died eight hundred times over. After several days of healing, his injuries were completely healed, and he left the Shikkotsu Forest to visit Mount Myōboku.
Tsubasa flew through the sky, heading towards the depths of the great mountain range west of the Land of Fire the high mountain range. The blazing sun hung high, scorching the earth, and the air was filled with a dry, hot atmosphere. Sweat soaked his clothes. But the thought of arriving at one of the Three Great Sage Lands — Mount Myōboku —filled his heart with an irrepressible sense of anticipation.
The mountain forest became increasingly rugged, with jagged rocks and thickets of thorns. Tsubasa flew cautiously in the sky when suddenly, a deep and distant "croak" sound reached his ears. The sound seemed to come from the depths of the earth, making his eardrums vibrate slightly. He knew that it must be the croaking of a giant Toad, and that he was approaching the edge of Mount Myōboku.
Passing through a dense bamboo forest, Tsubasa was awestruck by the sight before him. A majestic mountain stood before him, its surface riddled with enormous caves and fissures, as if cleaved open by a giant's sword. At its foot, a wide river rushed by, its crystal-clear water shimmering with a deep blue light. On the river's surface floated enormous lotus leaves, each as large as a round table.
"Croak!"
A loud croaking of Toad came from the treetop. Tsubasa looked down and saw a gigantic Toad perched on a branch of a towering tree. This Toad was over six meters tall, with dark brown skin covered in bumps, and eyes the size of lanterns that emitted a ghostly green light. It opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp teeth, and looked terrifying. Tsubasa asked it how to enter the sacred land of Mount Myōboku, but it could only croak incoherently. Clearly, it had not yet developed any intelligence.
Tsubasa took a deep breath and continued flying forward. As he ventured deeper into the mountains, he saw more and more Toad. Some Toad were leisurely basking in the sun by the river, their enormous bodies taking up the entire riverbank; some Toad were hopping in the grass, each leap creating a gust of wind; and Toad were going in and out of their burrows, seemingly busy with something.
In a wide valley, Tsubasa saw an even more spectacular sight. In the center of the valley was a huge lake, its water as green as jade. Around the lake, dozens of enormous Toad gathered. These Toad were of various shapes and sizes; some had long horns, some had huge shells on their backs, and some had huge weapons in their mouths.
One of the Toad was particularly eye-catching. It stood on a small island in the middle of the lake, much larger than the other Toad, standing over thirty meters tall. Its skin was golden yellow, covered with mysterious patterns, and its eyes gleamed with a majestic light. Several smaller Toad surrounded it, seemingly serving it.
Who are you? Why have you come to Mount Myōboku?
A deep and authoritative voice sounded in Tsubasa's ear. Tsubasa looked around but could not find the source of the voice.
"Don't look around, I'm here."
The voice rang out again. Tsubasa then realized that it was the giant golden Toad in the center of the lake speaking. Its mouth did not move, but its voice clearly reached Tsubasa's ears.
Tsubasa composed himself and said loudly, "I am the Third Hokage of the Land of Fire, my name is Tsubasa, and I come from the distant Konoha. I have long admired the Great Toad Sage of Mount Myōboku and have come here to see for myself."
The golden Toad was silent for a moment, then said, " Mount Myōboku is not a place that just anyone can come to. However, since you are the Hokage and have already arrived, then please follow me."
As soon as he finished speaking, the water in the lake suddenly churned, forming a huge underwater passage. Tsubasa followed the passage with the giant Toad. Along the way, he felt the gazes of the surrounding Toad, gazes that contained both curiosity and wariness.
Passing through the underwater passage, Tsubasa arrived at a vast valley. Standing before the golden Toad, he curiously surveyed this secluded paradise Yamanaka, a sense of awe welling up within him. The golden Toad looked down at him and said, "I am the guardian Toad of Mount Myōboku, in charge of the entrance to this sacred land. Since you've come, please stay here for now. A representative from the sacred land will come to receive you. However, you must abide by the rules of Mount Myōboku and not kill any Toad of the sacred land indiscriminately; otherwise, you will bear the consequences."
Tsubasa nodded quickly and said, "Thank you for guiding me, Toad guarding the mountain. I will definitely follow the rules."
Tsubasa began exploring Mount Myōboku when a deafening roar came from overhead. Tsubasa jerked backward, nearly plunging into a thicket of poisonous mushrooms behind him. A dark brown Toad hung upside down from the branches of an ancient tree, its massive, carriage-sized feet brushing past his nose. The Toad's cloudy eyes drooped from its eyelids, and as it scrutinized him, its throat bulged like a drum. "Human? This is a forbidden area. Get out of here immediately!"
"Wait!" Tsubasa wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and pulled off his Forehead Protector. "It was the Great Toad Guardian who brought me here. I am the Hokage of Konoha, and I have come to pay my respects to the Great Toad Sage!"
The Toad made a gurgling sound from its throat and suddenly shot out like a cannonball. Before Tsubasa could react, Frog Song of frogs burst forth from the distant cliffs, like the tolling of bronze bells. He walked forward, stepping on the giant ferns covering the ground, when suddenly he saw a dark green "rock" floating in the stream that suddenly split open its mouth—it was a lurking Toad, with half a giant centipede stuck between its serrated fangs.
The plants here are exceptionally large. After passing through three naturally formed mushroom arches, two majestic "peaks" appeared before him. As the mist dissipated, Tsubasa was startled to find two Toad sitting together not far away, staring at him. Their dark brown skin was covered with moss, and ancient trees with gnarled roots grew on their heads. The Toad on the left had a necklace around its neck, while the Toad on the right had golden vines crawling around its eye sockets. When they opened their mouths, their voices were loud, and the shockwaves made Tianyi's clothes flutter Tsubasa.
"A human Hokage? What business do you have with the Great Toad Sage?" The Toad on the left jiggled the fat on its chin, Tsubasa then noticed a scroll sewn from animal hide on its back. "I am Sage Fukasaku, and this is my wife Sage Shima."
