Lu Ming awakened a Sub-Heaven-Grade Divine Ability Bone and began cultivating while Thunderfire Hall struggled with Zhang Yue’s departure and pressure from rival halls. He won support for the hall, uncovered a knack for finding useful pills, and returned with Lu Qingyan to continue his training.
Lu Ming helped Thunderfire Hall defeat its rivals at the hall assembly, then used the Flame of Life to heal Lu Jin and pursued new cultivation opportunities. After accepting Zhou Xuan’s offer for the sake of his family’s protection, Lu Ming broke through the Divine Ability Barrier and formed three Dharma Marks, with Yuan Qi still surging into him.
Lu Ming used the Flame of Life to restore Thunderfire Hall’s Moon Spirit Grass supply, won the Li Clan’s contract, and gained the Golden Pupil ability at the Spirit Fish Banquet. He joined Thunderfire Hall’s caravan escort to confront the Peach Mountain Band, and the arc ended as he faced Xu Jushi in the poisonous-fog ambush.
Lu Ming and Lu Jin destroyed the Peach Mountain Band, uncovered Zhang Yue's plot against the Lu Clan, and brought home treasures to strengthen Thunderfire Hall. Lu Ming secured a pill for Lu Jin and gathered the most Pill Qi at Zhou Xuan's Spirit Pill Jiao as the Rain Weakening Period approached.
Lu Ming helped Thunderfire Hall survive the Black Rain Zone by spotting Rain Spawn and refining healing Rain Pearls, while Lin Changkong’s allies tried to wear down the group. As Thunderfire Hall returned to Qingyuan Market, Lin Changkong launched his attack, and Lu Ming killed Zhao Changming before facing Han Feng.
Lu Ming helped Lu Jin defeat the Golden Gang Sword Hall, then traveled with his family to Fengyang Prefecture, where he impressed the Zhong Clan and began pursuing a spirit fire. The arc ended with Zhou Fuling revealing that the Netherwater Flame might be for sale, though Lu Ming still needed more Heavenly Gold Sand and a rare spirit herb.
Lu Ming won the Netherwater Flame through a joint alchemy contest with Zhou Fuling, then returned to Qingyuan Market with the Zhong family as forces gathered around the Sacred Ruins. He stood with Lu Jin and Zhong Taiyue against the threats facing their family and the Thunderfire Hall.
