This dog-eat-dog drama was quite a spectacle for Naruto. He never expected Danzo to Hiruzen Sarutobi, since they should have been best buddies.
How did it turn out like this?
The people around were watching the show, seeing their Lord Hokage being reprimanded by the First Hokage and Second Hokage. They never imagined that the Third Hokage's aloof and kind demeanor was all an act.
"Teacher, don't believe Danzo! He's the one who did it all! I don't know anything about it."
Upon hearing Hiruzen Sarutobi's words, Danzo became displeased. "What do you mean, 'I did it all'? What don't you know? If you don't agree, would I have taken action?"
