Genjutsu: Mangekyō
Nest Hidden Village.
The five figures temporarily stayed at an inn, discussing their next moves. Naturally, their plans centered around the Mangekyō in their possession.
"Look at this gorgeous pattern. How wonderful, how artistic," Iwashi said to the other four.
They sat around a small square table. The glass bottle in Iwashi's hand was filled with a specially prepared nutrient solution—formalin. He held it up to the incandescent lamp overhead, where a bright red eyeball lay submerged in the clear liquid.
"Yeah, as expected of Uchiha eyes. I wonder what price such fresh, usable eyes could fetch," Heimulin sighed.
"Why not try using them? See how much of their ocular power remains."
However, before he could finish, Aici stopped him. With a laugh, he scolded, "You're just curious about the Mangekyō's ocular techniques, aren't you? Stop dreaming. Eyes of this level aren't something ordinary people can use.
They might even cause a backlash from the ocular techniques. You could end up drained into a human husk."
Iwashi could not help frowning. If the eyes could not be used, how were they any different from pretty decorations?
Aici saw his concern and said indifferently, "We came out this time to track the Tailed Beasts in the first place. Getting our hands on such a treasure along the way is already an incredible stroke of luck.
Maybe these eyes will help us rise through the ranks and get rich. We might even squeeze into the organization's inner circle."
"Are these eyes really that powerful? But wasn't their owner killed by us pretty easily?" Heimulin asked hesitantly.
Aici rolled his eyes and mocked him. "Do you think the Mangekyō can be activated as easily as an ordinary ninjutsu? This thing has extremely high requirements for its host's physique, and it consumes an enormous amount of Chakra.
With the body of a little girl like her, she probably collapsed from exhaustion before she could even unleash the Mangekyō's power. It's honestly hilarious. She awakened powerful ocular abilities through talent, only for them to end up benefiting us."
"I heard prolonged use of these eyes causes blindness. Will that affect the Mangekyō's price?"
Aici said disdainfully, "Have you forgotten how advanced the organization's technology is? Problems that ordinary people find impossible to solve are as easy as breathing for them."
"Oh." Thinking of the technology he had witnessed before, the fear in Heimulin's heart remained, but the worry in his eyes vanished in an instant.
That was a powerful life force capable of restoring even a severed head in moments. He had heard that their research into the human body had already reached its peak, and now they were obsessed only with immortality!
They chatted merrily, staring at the Mangekyō in the bottle and imagining their happy lives ahead. They raised their wineglasses, the golden liquid rolling within like waves.
With a soft clink, they drained their fine wine in one gulp, celebrating the arrival of better days in advance.
Suddenly, the Mangekyō in the glass bottle flickered eerily. A flash of light swept over everyone present. The five of them froze at the abrupt change, staring at the eye in the bottle without understanding what was happening.
Genjutsu: Mangekyō!
The five of them felt baffled. Had their eyes just played tricks on them?
"My tolerance has gotten a lot worse lately. I'm already drunk after just a few drinks," Iwashi muttered, his mind hazy and his head spinning.
He shook his head, trying to stay awake. After rubbing his temples, he discovered something strange—there was one more person in the room.
"It's you, the Mangekyō brat!" Iwashi cried out. He had no time to think about how she had escaped the sea of flames. His hands immediately formed seals as he retreated and warned his companions, "Get back! I'm using Wind Cutter!"
The seals formed. Under the shocked gazes of his companions, Iwashi swung his arm swiftly, slashing out a dense wind blade like sword energy toward "Sarada."
"Sarada" was instantly startled and cried out, losing some of his composure, "Have you gone mad?!"
Yet he had no time to figure out why. He sprang from his chair and dodged to the side.
Just as he steadied himself and prepared to step forward to stop Iwashi, the other three surrounded him as well. Their expressions were hostile, with surprise in their eyes but even more killing intent.
"So what if you survived? You're still going to die!" Heimulin sneered.
The four of them formed a line, their eyes fixed on the constantly retreating "Sarada." Their hands formed seals at no slower a pace.

Wind Release: Air Current Dance!
The four powerful combined ninjutsu were unleashed in an instant. To prevent "Sarada" from dodging, they thoughtfully chose wide-range killing moves. No matter how nimble a monkey was, it could only leap about on a single log.
"You've all gone crazy!"
Though the bewildered "Sarada" was furious, he did not dare let his guard down. These were truly lethal attacks.
Fortunately, his main affinity was earth. A tall wall rose from the ground, standing firmly in front of "Sarada."
Boom—!
Amid the deafening explosions, the flames were amplified by the gale and became a sea of fire, like savage dragon tongues. The terrifying heat baked the earth dry and turned it to sand before it finally collapsed with a crash.
"Sarada," hiding behind it, froze slightly. After all, it was a combined ninjutsu from four people. It was only natural that he could not block it.
He did not choose to take it head-on. Instead, he immediately used Earth Release to burrow underground. The tongues of flame reached his former position the next moment, blazing with violent heat and reducing the inn to rubble in an instant.
Earth Release: Underground Headhunter Technique!
"Sarada" suddenly drilled out of the ground and randomly dragged one of his teammates into the earth.
"You damned brat!" Aici spat, pressing both hands to the ground and pouring in a massive amount of Chakra. "Earth Release: Opening Earth Rising Excavation!"
The ground beneath them instantly swelled upward. The two people below the surface were quickly forced out of the earth. "Sarada" immediately leaped away, but a vast sea of flames surrounded him, leaving him with few paths of retreat.
Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!
Lightning Release: Lightning Guiding Flash!
Iwashi and Heimulin formed seals in perfect coordination, unleashing another round of combined ninjutsu. A waterfall-like torrent surged toward "Sarada."
Seeing this, "Sarada" hurriedly formed seals and used an earthen pillar platform to launch himself high into the air, away from the water.
He did not want to soak in a pool full of lightning.
Aici continued his assault. "Fire Release: Wind Tornado!"
The flames around them that had not yet been extinguished were swept together by a hurricane. The howling wind whipped the flames into an even fiercer blaze. Though the ground had been soaked by the flood, fire still burned without end!
Faced with this bizarre scene of water and fire intertwining, "Sarada's" expression turned ugly. He could neither retreat nor block the attacks, and he could not help roaring, "What the hell are you doing? I'm Tazeshi!!"
However, no one paid him any attention. In their eyes, he was Sarada, the girl who had burned to death only to somehow return to life. Faced with such an unnatural sight, all they wanted was to erase him as quickly as possible.
Tazeshi felt utterly miserable. Danger surrounded him on all sides, and it would be difficult for him to escape this deadly attack.
But while the situation before him was dangerous, it was not impossible to break. He took a scroll from his satchel, carefully spread it open, and formed seals to summon something.
With a puff, a tiny turquoise crystal appeared in his palm. A simple cord was looped around it. Sensing the ninjutsu surging nearby, it released a green glow on its own and swallowed every incoming ninjutsu attack!
Whether it was combined ninjutsu or fire, water, wind, and lightning, all of it was absorbed by that unremarkable little crystal.
Seeing that the crisis had temporarily passed, Tazeshi finally let out a breath of relief. He stared at the three hostile figures on the ground, sinking into thought.
Could it be... Genjutsu? He remembered the strange flash from the Mangekyō just now, and then they had started attacking him.
As he thought, he used the crystal in his hand to absorb his companions' ninjutsu attacks. The three figures continued staring at him with hostile, solemn gazes.
Though they were united against a common enemy, there was really no need to treat one of their own like this!
Suddenly, he seemed to think of something. He turned and searched the area... where was the person he had dragged underground and who had been forced back out of the earth alongside him?
A bad feeling rose in his heart. The inn had already become ruins, and there were no extra figures nearby. He did not care whether the inn's guests were dead or alive, but the other person had been his companion!
Thinking of that, he could not help wondering where the Mangekyō that had caused all this chaos had gone. It seemed that once the attacks began, they had stopped paying attention to their surroundings. The Mangekyō might be powerful, but that depended on someone using it. Without an owner, it was only a fragile eyeball.
Could it be that Mangekyō brat had come looking for them? He did not believe in ghosts or spirits. The only possibility was that the brat from Hidden Shadow Village had survived, perhaps through some other secret method.
After all, for a twelve- or thirteen-year-old girl to possess the Mangekyō Sharingan, it would be far too irresponsible to simply let her run around everywhere.
At that moment, the White-Robed Man, who was accompanying Sarada in Shadow Shade Village to search for enemies, suddenly sneezed...
