She paused mid-sentence, glanced around, and frowned. " Jiang Chi isn't here?"
The officer in the front row whispered, " Brother Jiang is here. He didn't go home at all last night; he's just sitting at his desk."
Zhou Lan coughed twice, her gaze sweeping over the messy pile of documents in the corner. " Jiang Chi, what are your thoughts on the follow-up to this case?"
No one answered...
The police officer next to him quickly nudged Jiang Chi's arm.
Jiang Chi slowly raised his head from the pile of documents, stretched, and a tuft of hair stuck up from being pressed down, giving him a lazy, sleepy look.
"Are you even listening? This case is different from before, be serious!" Zhou Lan shook her head helplessly.
Jiang Chi gave an "oh" and leaned back lazily in his chair.
He casually picked up the pen on the table and slowly twirled it between his fingers.
"Tell me, what's the breakthrough in this case?" Zhou Lan put the laser pointer on the table.
Jiang Chi yawned, his eyelids half-open. He glanced at the surveillance screenshots and photos of the scene on the whiteboard, twirled the pen in his hand, and then stopped.
"They're very good at picking their time." He finally spoke, his voice a little hoarse from just waking up. "From one to three in the morning, the patrols change over in the second half of the night, which is the longest gap. They don't take the main roads, they specifically go into the old alleys on the east side. Three of the surveillance cameras there broke down last week and haven't been repaired yet, so they know which alleys are without cameras."
He pointed to one of the shoe print photos with the tip of his pen. "The print is lighter in the front and darker in the back. The left foot is normal, the right foot is heavier. One of them has an injury on his right leg, making it difficult to walk. It could be an old injury, or it could be a recent fall."
"Furthermore, they only target households on the third floor or below that don't have security bars on their windows. They've scouted the area beforehand; they know which households are empty during the day and which have broken window locks. To know so much detail, they either live in this area or used to frequent it."
Zhou Lan crossed her arms, her face expressionless, but she didn't interrupt him.
Jiang Chi pulled out another photo of items that had been dropped at the scene and tapped it with a pen cap. "This button doesn't belong to the resident. It's an old style, and the edges are worn white. If you go to the secondhand clothing store at the east end of the alley, someone should have seen this garment. Check the tenants who moved in within the last three months. They are two people sharing the apartment, and one of them has an injury on his right leg and a criminal record. Prioritize checking them."
After he finished speaking, he lazily turned back into his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. "Don't rush into the house when you arrest them. First, wait at the east alley entrance. They'll most likely pull off another heist tonight, just betting there aren't any security cameras in that area."
The entire conference room fell silent for a moment. Jiang Chi threw his pen on the table, unscrewed his thermos, and took a swig.
The glass emitted a sizzling sound as bubbles burst, and the aroma of iced Cola wafted out.
He squinted his eyes in satisfaction, stood up, and strode forward with his long legs. "I've told you the method. Follow it, and the case will be solved within twelve hours."
None of the team members in the room uttered a sound. Zhou Lan watched his retreating figure and sighed deeply, "Alright! Now, let's begin the mission immediately!"
Jiang Chi had just stepped out of the Major Crimes Unit's gate when he bumped into Bai Yichuan.
Bai Yichuan, dressed in a sharp suit, walked past him without even glancing at him.
Jiang Chi twirled the car key in his finger, then headed straight for the parking lot without looking back.
The director yelled "Cut!"
Song Shi'an stopped his arrogant stride and turned to look at the director.
The director frowned. " He Zeyu! Don't look at me with that resentful look when you walked past! This is supposed to be a cool and aloof persona, not one of deep resentment!"
He Zeyu said, "Okay, let's try it again, it'll definitely be fine."
Song Shi'an cooperated by taking his place again, this time He Zeyu's eyes were cold, and he acted like a high-and-mighty flower.
The director nodded in satisfaction. "Alright! That was great!"
After the shoot, Song Shi'an filmed some additional scenes from the Major Crimes Unit.
In just one day, most of the scenes at the police station were filmed.
The next morning, Song Shi'an went with the assistant director to film another scene, the part where he was working undercover.
This is the simplest outfit I've worn since I started acting: a tank top, baggy shorts, and flip-flops.
Even so, it couldn't stop Song Shi'an from being strikingly handsome, with a kind of rugged and wild kind of handsomeness.
The stylist finished with satisfaction. "Perfect!"
Song Shi'an turned to Lin Fan, flashing what he thought was a fierce expression, " Lin Fan, am I fierce or ruthless?"
Lin Fan touched his nose. His brother's expression now resembled that of a cat pretending to be fierce when it's being aggressive.
He lied and said, "Extremely ruthless! He looks like a heartless killer who doesn't blink an eye!"
Song Shi'an walked out of the styling room with satisfaction, while Lin Fan and the stylist looked at each other in bewilderment.
The filming location was in a place resembling an urban village.
Song Shi'an walked out of the house and stood brazenly at the door watching the staff move things, and even offered to help move them a few times.
After moving the last box, he dusted off his hands and stood at the alley entrance eating his breakfast.
Deng Jing, who was hanging clothes to dry across the street, had seen this group of people moving things since morning; they were making a lot of noise.
Hearing that the residential buildings in that area had been rented out, she took out her phone, locked onto the target, and took a picture.
On the screen, a man dressed in a "Guangdong three-piece suit" stands at the entrance of an alley, one hand in his pocket and the other holding a cup of soy milk, slowly drinking it.
The morning light streamed through the cracks in the alley and fell on his shoulder. He tilted his head slightly, as if listening to someone speaking beside him, and the wisps of hair on his forehead were ruffled by the wind.
The scene exudes an indescribable sense of relaxation and roguishness.
She admired it for a while, becoming more and more satisfied, and then posted it directly to D Station.
Caption: Does anyone know who this is? Looks like they're filming a TV series.
People started seeing it gradually.
"Hey handsome! Oh... I checked the IP address, it's not from here. What a disappointment."
"[Image] Damn it, I wear the same outfit, why do people say I look like a renter!"
"The highest level of attractiveness in the entertainment industry has arrived! He looks handsome even in rags!"
"Sisters are so lucky! They got first-hand Reuters footage!"
"Oh my god!! Finally, I can buy some clothes! The clothes that were leaked online a few days ago sold out instantly on the official website!!!"
[Image] Hehe, I have the same style too!!!
After finishing breakfast, Song Shi'an read the script for a while.
The plot revolves around a fight between low-level gang members from two different factions. Jiang Chi, in order to infiltrate the largest gang, has no choice but to start by targeting them.
He stood in the alley and twirled the prop bottle in his hand.
I hope this thing won't actually hurt someone if it hits them. Lately, all he's been doing is kicking people in the face or smashing their heads...
A few thuggish-looking boys were squatting against the wall. One of them, a scarred-faced extra who looked like a villain, was scrolling through his phone and muttering, "Was the last guy who played the villain and beat him up hung on the wall?"
Someone nearby immediately chimed in, "You can't say they're being hung on the wall, but at least they're remembered, right? Their prices are two or three times higher than ours now, I actually hope they're remembered..."
The others immediately transformed into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fans, all giving a thumbs-up with eyes full of admiration.
