"What the hell? The Uzumaki Clan actually sent spies here? How did they get in?" Uchiha Guard Force slammed his hand on the table and stood up.
"What are the people at the front doing? How did they manage to send the Uzumaki Clan here?" Uchiha clansman asked. "What's the situation now?"
The messenger said, "We've managed to keep them calm. We've lured them onto the carriage and are bringing them this way. Everyone agreed that I should come first to deliver the message so we can set a trap here and capture them."
The Uchiha clansman nodded, then straightened his collar and said, "Okay, I understand. You rest here for a while, I'll go get someone."
After finishing speaking, the Uchiha clansman rushed towards the Konoha Military Police Force.
A little while later, a dozen or so Uchiha clansmen, carrying swords, rushed out of the Guard Force office and headed towards the city gate.
In the distance, Kakashi Hatake, sitting in a carriage, was resting with his eyes closed. Naruto Uzumaki, though saying he wasn't worried, was actually a little scared inside.
"Is Kakashi-sensei really okay? Will he fail in the end?" This was the third time Naruto Uzumaki had asked this question.
Sasuke Uchiha answered the question on behalf of Kakashi Hatake: "Impossible. Kakashi-sensei is Jonin Konoha, and an elite one at that, a disciple of the Fourth Hokage."
We can't defeat Kakashi-sensei with just a few ordinary henchmen. Even if we are ultimately defeated, we are capable of escaping unscathed.
Hearing this, Naruto Uzumaki felt a little more at ease, but he still couldn't sit still in his chair; he had a bad feeling about it.
Just then, the carriage suddenly stopped. Kakashi Hatake opened his eyes, and a merchant's voice came from outside. "Gentlemen ninja, the town is just ahead. We're currently queuing to enter."
Kakashi Hatake softly replied, "Okay, I understand." With that, he took a Kunai from his pocket, leaned against the carriage, and cautiously peered out the window.
Through the observation window, he could indeed see the city walls in the distance; it was indeed outside a town, and a long queue was forming in front of them, all preparing to enter the city.
"This kind of city wall?" After examining the city wall for a while Kakashi Hatake found a corresponding image in his mind.
"This looks a bit like the city walls from the Warring States period described in history books. Perhaps the technological level of this world is stuck in our Warring States era..."
Sasuke Uchiha then leaned in and asked, "The Warring States period? There are ninjas in this world too. Do you think it's possible that we've traveled back to the Warring States period?"
Kakashi Hatake said noncommittally, "It's certainly possible. And based on what I overheard from the caravan's conversation, their ninjas are almost identical to those in our world, and they also possess Chakra. So it's very likely that they're from a different timeline of our world."
Naruto Uzumaki: "What? The Warring States period? What's the Warring States period?"
"The Warring States period was an era in our Shinobi World. During that time, clans fought independently, engaging in internecine warfare across various provinces. The system of one village per province had not yet been established."
Even Konoha hadn't been established yet; it was the most chaotic era in the Shinobi World.
Sakura Haruno explained, " Naruto, I've told you to read more books. Now you know the downsides of not studying, right?"
Naruto Uzumaki chuckled awkwardly, "Hehe... well, I just can't remember... Oh well, as long as Sakura and Sasuke can remember it, that's fine."
While they were talking inside, Kakashi Hatake interrupted them, "Shh, don't talk, someone's getting close."
The moment Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha heard this, they all held their breath, concealing themselves and warily watching the carriage door and windows.
Naruto Uzumaki felt his heart pounding, as if it would jump out of his chest at any moment. To calm himself down, he swallowed hard.
But after a long while, there was no movement coming from outside the car; even the noisy conversations stopped, and the silence was strangely eerie.
This strange scene immediately made the three children in the car nervous. However, when they saw Kakashi Hatake, they felt half relieved. It wasn't a big problem; as long as Kakashi was there, it wouldn't be a big deal.
Just then, a shout came from outside the carriage.
"Listen up, you spies from the Uzumaki Clan inside the carriage! You are surrounded! Lay down your weapons, step out of the carriage, and surrender—you might have a chance to live! Resist, and you'll only face death!"
Naruto Uzumaki whispered, "Oh no, oh no, have we really traveled back to some so-called Warring States period?"
Sasuke Uchiha narrowed his eyes. "It seems so. We must have traveled to a certain point in the Warring States period. Which clans were enemies of the Uzumaki Clan during that time?"
Sakura Haruno replied, "It's mainly Sasuke and your Uchiha Clan, as well as the Hagoromo Clan. The others aren't enemies of the Uzumaki Clan, and the Senju Clan is a staunch ally of the Uzumaki Clan."
"Alright, stop talking. I'll count to three, then we'll rush out together," Kakashi Hatake said, pulling down his left eye as he did so. "I'll create an opening for you. You guys hurry up and find a chance to sneak into the city."
During the Warring States period, there was an unwritten rule that the city belonged to the powerful lords of each state, so no family could kill indiscriminately within the city, making it a safe place.
The three children nodded upon hearing this, then picked up their weapons, held their breath, and tensed their bodies.
"3, 2, 1, charge!" With Kakashi Hatake's command, Sasuke Uchiha quickly threw several smoke bombs outside, and then the group rushed out of the carriage at lightning speed, enveloped in the smoke.
Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha both chose to jump out of the windows, Kakashi Hatake jumped off the roof of the carriage, Sakura Haruno chose to climb out of the carriage door.
However, just as Sasuke Uchiha climbed out of the window, a knife was held to his neck, and Sasuke Uchiha was completely dumbfounded.
Didn't he throw a smoke bomb? Shouldn't these people have their vision obscured by the smoke? How did he manage to spot him so accurately while he was hidden in the smoke?
Naruto Uzumaki, like Sasuke Uchiha, chose to jump out of the window, suffered the same fate; he had just climbed out and before he could even stand up, he was pinned to the ground.
Sakura Haruno rolled over and crashed into the enemy standing outside the carriage door, instantly taking him down.
In just a few seconds, before the smoke had even completely dissipated, all three little ones were captured, leaving Kakashi Hatake completely dumbfounded.
He couldn't understand how these people could take them down so quickly, even though they had already used smoke.
