Lin Xuan claimed the Chongming Bird inheritance for Wu Liang, defeated their enemies, and broke through to the Great Emperor Realm. He reunited with Lin Ye, learned how to restore the Vast Sea Saint King and Gu Hao, and began reviving them with the Spiritless Spiritual Spring.
Lin Xuan rescued the Chongming Bird Clan, then traveled to the Taiyu Divine Dynasty to investigate Ancestor Zhiruo’s sword and search for Wang Yan. After saving Dongfang Muxue from an assassination plot, he stayed at the True Spirit Prince’s Mansion while a Mansion Competition and political tensions gathered around him.
Lin Xuan entered the Dark Orchid Secret Realm, won the Mansion Competition for Dongfang Muxue’s faction, and recovered the pieces of Zhiruo’s broken sword. He then entered the Great Cosmos Holy Academy’s Sword Pool to study its sword traces before preaching, while skeptical holy teachers prepared to challenge him.
Lin Xuan taught at the Great Cosmos Holy Academy, helped Wang Yan rise to the top of the Pagoda of a Hundred Saints, and rescued Ji Zhenyi and his ancestor Lin Zhiruo from the Forgotten River Small World. At the succession announcement, Dongfang Muxue was named heir, but the Eldest Imperial Prince’s alliance with the Mingli remnants sparked an attack on the Taiyu Divine Dynasty.
Lin Xuan and his allies defeated the Mingli forces, rescued Taiyu, and helped Yunli establish the Divine Departure Sect. Back in Primordial Holy Heaven, Lin Xuan reunited with his people and celebrated Lin Fang’s wedding before the Ten Institutes Grand Competition began.
The Ten Institutes Grand Competition began after the Primordial Holy Heaven’s students were humbled at the exchange gathering and Bai Wuya accepted Chang Yao’s wager. In the Heavenly Abyss Secret Realm, Qu Youmeng claimed treasures and fought off other cultivators as the first contestants were eliminated.
Wang Yan and Qu Youmeng explored the secret realm with Feng Wuji, then the students gathered in Holy Heaven City for the second round of the competition. Primordial Holy Heaven suffered a string of losses before Wan Renshan won nine matches and was defeated by Gao Fu, leaving Chang Yao claiming victory in his wager with Bai Wuya.
Qu Youmeng and Wang Yan turned the competition against the Primordial Holy Heaven’s rivals, while Mo Yao and Chu Li crippled Duan Nianwei and Feng Wuji. Wang Yan defeated Jiang Chengzun, and the arc ended with Wang Yan and Qu Youmeng beginning the final match.
After Wang Yan wins the competition, the Sea Clan challenges the Saint Heaven Realm and Qu Youmeng defeats Bo Yier. Several Holy Heavens then besiege Primordial Holy Heaven for its Primordial Token, but Lin Xuan and unexpected allies force them to retreat, and the story leaves Lin Xuan, Su Lianxin, and Lin Ling preparing to seek opportunities in the Endless Sea.
Lin Xuan advanced to the Saint Realm, was swept into the Central Continent, and took Fang Yun'er as his disciple. After arriving in Azure Wave City, he offered a sword scripture for auction and revealed his Sword Domain when he killed Chi Peng and Dongfang Li.
Fang Yun'er defied her relatives and unwanted marriage proposals, then defeated the Fang Household's strongest young competitors but was rejected by the Cinnabar Cloud Sword Sect for her low aptitude. Lin Xuan offered her a place as a True Disciple of Ximu Peak, while Cao Zhengyang welcomed news of Lin Xuan's recruitment.
Lin Xuan protected Ximu Peak from Chunwei Peak, rebuilt its ranks, and took Lang Ping as his personal disciple. As the sect prepared to enter the Heaven-Gazing Secret Realm, Cao Zhengyang revealed the stakes of the expedition and the Cinnabar Cloud Sword Sect set out for Heaven-Gazing Ridge.
The other great sects forced the Cinnabar Cloud Sword Sect to share access to the Heaven-Gazing Secret Realm with the Purple Firmament Palace, whose disciples then targeted its members. Lin Xuan rescued Nie Fa, while Ximu Peak disciples challenged the Purple Firmament Palace over an inheritance and Lang Ping entered the unfinished fight.
Lin Xuan rescued Luo Qingxue and Liu Rumei while searching for Heaven-Gazing Ridge, where the gathered sects began testing their prodigies. Shen Youzi set the leading record at sixty-six steps, and Jiang Bo’s young sect member prepared to climb.
