The icy seawater soaked him as currents surged all around, like countless terrifying hands tugging at his body, trying to drag him into the abyss. Or perhaps before he even fell into that abyss, his body would already be torn to pieces by the dreadful currents.
After falling into the sea, Yang Jian felt an indescribable helplessness.
Because it did not feel as though he had fallen into the ocean at all. It felt more like he had dropped into some incomprehensible supernatural place, somewhat like the first time he had entered Ghost Lake.
His own supernatural power was being severely affected. One moment, his Ghost Eye had just opened; the next, after the icy seawater washed over it, the Ghost Eye rapidly shut. Even more absurdly, Yang Jian's ghostly shadow felt as though it were being washed away by the currents, about to leave his body and drift off with the waves. That feeling was growing stronger and stronger.
If this continued, Yang Jian had no doubt that the ghosts he had controlled would be stripped from his body.
Fortunately, this strange seawater did not make people sink into oblivion like Ghost Lake. Yang Jian tried struggling and swimming, and actually succeeded. He surfaced from the water.
Before he could even feel relieved.
Yang Jian saw a huge, lifeless vessel sailing straight toward him. If he could not dodge in time, he suspected that this massive Ghost Ship would crush him alive.
"I have to find a way onto the ship."
That thought instinctively surfaced in his mind.
Some instinct told Yang Jian that if he could not board the ship at once, then once he missed this chance, he would never be able to board it again, nor would he ever be able to return to reality alive.
